toblix Posted October 18, 2006 I know you've all been saying that this game rocks. But none of you have explained exactly how much Guitar Hero fucking ROCKS! And not only that, but GH2 is on the way? That's too much goodness in total! *** Now, I (my brother) just got a new PS2. Except for Guitar Hero, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, what are the most fucking awesome games I (he) should get for it?
Wrestlevania Posted October 18, 2006 I would refer the right-honourable gentleman(?) to a near identical thread posted just last week. From a personal standpoint though, LEGO Star Wars II is turning out to be quite fun in co-op. Assuming you and your brother are into the whole Star Wars thing. toblix Posted October 21, 2006 So, where am I able to use hammer-ons and or or pull-offs. Anywhere in medium mode?
eljay Posted October 22, 2006 Look at the white centre part of the notes, if there is a black ring around the white centre then you MUST play the note individually, but if not then you are free to hammer-on or pull-off.
miffy495 Posted October 22, 2006 I believe that the first time I noticed a bunch of 'em was Killer Queen on Medium. This was a while ago though. If you want a definite bunch of hammer ons and pull offs, try Texas Flood on, um... any difficulty. That song's got a bunch no matter how confident you are. On a related note, please allow me to mourn for my over-used and now dead GH guitar. I mean hell, I only played it almost every night for almost a year. How dare a piece of plastic not be able to take that kind of punishment? When GH2 hits on 360, I swear I'm getting something like 4 guitars just so I have some backups. loonyboi Posted October 23, 2006 I love GH, but damn, hard mode is most certainly freaking difficult. I've been going back and getting four and five stars in the medium mode and then when I'm feeling brave, tackling one of the hard songs. I've passed the first tier, but of the second, I've only managed to get two in so far. I can't imagine how the heck I'm going to do bark at the moon on hard. I can't believe I finished it on medium. toblix Posted October 23, 2006 With these games there's a difficulty limit I reach where I just resign and let the uber geeky nerd freaks with strange, weird hair and lots of time and coordination take it from there.
gfoot Posted October 23, 2006 With these games there's a difficulty limit I reach where I just resign and let the uber geeky nerd freaks with strange, weird hair and lots of time and coordination take it from there. Wow, I never realised Guitar Hero appealed to real musicians.

Having cleared Expert, I kinda resent that. My hair isn't that weird at all.

toblix Posted October 24, 2006 Perfect. I think we got a defective copy of Guitar Hero. I believe this because the last tracks on medium are so complicated that the only way they can be said to be of medium anything is as the result of sloppy programming or defective media. Those tracks belong, if anywhere, in a secret, hidden difficulty section, protected by codes and dongles.
miffy495 Posted October 24, 2006 We need proof. Enjoy. Here's me, not 10 minutes ago, holding my busted and worn out (but delightfully be-stickered!) Guitar Hero controller in my surprisingly tidy student-hovel entryway. One of those awkward mirror shots, but you get the idea. Please note: I just now realized that there's some random white splotchy stuff on the mirror. I shall be asking my roommates about this shortly.
