vimes Posted August 17, 2006 In the last four months, I've been an intern doing lots of different stuff on a game called Global in a one-man indie studio called Moxy Studios... so it's like a toe in the door of the industry; or I like to think so.
Salka Posted September 12, 2006 I'm in the games industry. I've worked 35 hours so far this week.
baconian Posted September 13, 2006 quit, for god's sake. The games industry will drive you insane.

Wrestlevania Posted September 13, 2006 I almost worked for Acclaim as a 3D artist and animator, luckily. Instead, I decided to work as a designer and UI specialist in the software industry; I'm now staring down the barrel of redundancy for the second time in as many years--go me! :\
Roderick Posted September 13, 2006 Yess! For the final year of my school (the HKU) I have to do a really interesting research and development project for Guerrilla games, makers of Killzone. Can't say a whole lot more about it, but it's right up my alley =)
Marek Posted September 13, 2006 Awesome! On a related note I saw that today's Dutch news paid a lot of attention to this year's exam projects (one of them also being for Guerilla). You guys are lucky, the game dev stuff at HKU is really picking up steam. When I finished there two years ago I had some really crap projects.
Roderick Posted September 13, 2006 This one was the only real gaming thing I believe. Non-educational, hardcore gaming anyway. I'm very happy with it. This'll look great on my portfolio, but it's also an awesome research thing and I get to practise my designing skills with some talented other individuals (some of whom worked on The Blob, a project that's also garnering some attention; apparently they'll appear in next month's Edge). I should seriously try to play Killzone anyway. Fun fact: Spaff once sent me the PS2 demo. I never got far because it didn't interest me a whole lot, but I should give it another chance. Salka Posted September 13, 2006 spaff was supposed to send ME something too but he COMPLETELY FUCKED IT UP. Remember that Cluedo forum game?
vimes Posted September 13, 2006 The Blob, a project that's also garnering some attention; apparently they'll appear in next month's Edge). The Blob is an awesome game ( great art and great gameplay) which shows that you can do great stuff with Ogre and other free engines; the game is available on the Ogre Forum. Marek Posted September 13, 2006 The Blob, is that the game where you paint a city in different colors? Or ... am I confused?
