Ginger Posted March 30, 2006 Ok I've just put about 12 hours into it in one day (man it is great) but now when I try to load either of my saved games it will either crash to desktop or my whole PC will completely freeze up, has anyone else had this problem and if so can you let me know how you fixed it. Ginger Posted March 31, 2006 No I didn't NO DVD patch, I have a retail copy, Thanx for the link I found what I was looking for Just in case anyone else has a similar problem, the way I fixed was to remove the autosave.ess file and replace the extension of the autosave.bak file with .ess. From what I gathered it seemed to be a problem with saving while outside on a boat, there were a few similar problems on the forums. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
miffy495 Posted April 1, 2006 Hey, just because you own a game doesn't mean you won't use a noCD/DVD patch. I play FEAR, Far Cry, and many others with no disc patches on 'em, and own every game that I play. It's a convenience thing man. If the option is available and your desk looks like hell, it's a lot better than spending 10 minutes of valuable playing time digging around for the disk. Bob Dobb Posted May 5, 2006 I just bought Oblivion Tuesday and after I installed it and tried actually playing the game before it will open up something pops up that says: "Oblivion has encountered a problem and needs to close". I'm having the same problem I bought this for my son (he has been waiting for it to come out) and I feel like I just threw $60.00 out the window!!
