I've been following the shuttle launch and the docking of the space shuttle to the ISS quite closely. I'm still amazed about the huge amount of knowledge, effort, guts and money it took to get people into space. And after reading nasa's roadmap(PDF alert) for the future I hope we can see a permamently manned lunar base in my lifetime.

But nasa, please hurry up with the follow up of the space shuttle please. Those old buckets of cheap parts need to be replaced with something like the venture star fast!

There's so much wrong with the shuttle program, it really ought to have been abandoned in the 70's before too much was spent on it :/

There's nothing terribly "reusable" about it, between part replacement, the booster rockets and fuel tanks, and the months upon months of turnaround between launches, it's not exactly what it was planned to be.

Still, it's the best they've got, even if they only have 3 now.

They should ask George Lucus for his help. He's built tons of starfighters, Bulk Cruisers, and Destroyers. They don't seem to have any difficulty in space travel. The Falcon made the Kessel Run in...
