Salka Posted June 13, 2005 Don't they just have to spend money translating all EU bills into yet another forgotten language? They really exaggerate the figures. So many of the people that are said to be able to speak Irish, are able to speak however much they were forced to learn at school. Yes there are Gaeltacht areas, it's about time they started speaking bloody English. Of course you have no industry there you idiots. Good lord. Jesus. MrChlorophyll Posted June 13, 2005 I can fake a decent sounding (to Americans) Irish accent. But after a while it just slurs into whatever the hell you'd call Brad Pitt's speach in Snatch.
Roderick Posted June 14, 2005 Irish is damn hard to master. I've been studying Bernard from the excellent comedyshow Black Books for a while now but there's just no simulating that raging, drunken, haphazard blurting of Irish he does.
