netmonkey Posted March 26, 2005 Okay, so I have this vague idea to what XNA is, but the problem is that the Microsoft website loves telling instead of showing anything! (They must be afraid that people will not buy their software if they look at it, so they bombard them with bullshit ideas and such. But anyway...) Does anyone have any information about XNA and its XNA Studio and how it's supposed to lower game development costs? What's so special about it?
Spaff Posted March 26, 2005 is it not some kind of future machine that makes porting from pc to xbox really simple therefore meaning u only have to dev for one platform (XNA) and not spend money on porting because it does it for you? or it could be a robot that feeds on human emotions one of those

lailoken Posted March 26, 2005 XNA is microsoft's vision of the future, much like Direct X. The idea is to have one development standard (created by microsoft) for all future game development. So developers don't have to limit themselves to one system anymore but can basically create a game base on XNA and it will work on all future systems.
