General Fuzzy McBitty Posted February 23, 2005 I'm not sure how factual this is, but someone is claiming that they plan to screw ATI users. Once again, this could just be some idiot with too much free time.
manny_c44 Posted February 23, 2005 No, it's probably true. I know for the last Splinter Cell game you couldn't put the shadows all the way up to high quality without a GeForce card, my ATI only did the 'medium' setting. So for Ubisoft to ally even further with nVidia is kind of odd but not entirely suprising. After all, ATI users wil still be able to run the game either way, so technically ubi's not alienating anyone... ...they're just making ATI users drink from the other water fountain. loonyboi Posted February 23, 2005 Oh whatever. Half-Life 2 was going to run like ass on NVIDIA cards, remember? That didn't pan out either.
Eproxus Posted February 23, 2005 Wasn't it the other way around? Valve and ATI were campaign buddies anyway...
SoccerDude28 Posted February 23, 2005 I have an NVIDIA. Everytime I buy a game that says "runs best on NVIDIA" it runs like a troll, and when it says "runs best on ATI" it runs like a breeze. Wonder why ???
loonyboi Posted February 23, 2005 Wasn't it the other way around? Valve and ATI were campaign buddies anyway... By "runs like ass" I meant that in the negative. I really have to keep up with the lingo. Do kids still say "jive"?
Eproxus Posted February 23, 2005 Haha! Okay. I've got an ATI card so I can't say none.
