Mythalore Posted December 14, 2016 Okay, so this isn't the main game (GDC'12: The Death of Nick Breckon - an RPG adventure) that I was working on. I've put that game on a short pause due to some much needed redesign. In the mean time I've moved over to this game. Dead Letters is a (hopefully educational) typing game in the style of duck hunt. I had the idea for this game somepoint after deciding to make a quicktime based combat system and sometime before failing to learn to touch type using Mavis Beacon in middle school. https://mythalore.itch.io/dead-letters

******** Posted December 31, 2016 The gun sound effect in this is great, I definitely felt like I was straight murdering those letters. You've probably already considered this, but having multiple letters going could help with waiting for the gap between letters and also bring the movement of the reticle into play, like you could miss letters if you didn't do them in the correct order because the reticle doesn't move quickly enough. Maybe you could spell words with that? I don't know. Pretty good though!
coughlinjon Posted February 12, 2017 This game is phenomenal. I used to play the hell out of typing games like this in the basement of my catholic middle school. I would have loved one with an absurd gun sound. Great gameplay, great visual design, great contrast between the gun and the calming AV tone.
