I've hit 666 posts. I guess that's supposed to be bad or something.

I only started playing Minecraft this year, so I have a different perspective than many of you. I don't really mind most of the systems because to me that's just how the game is. I find having or lacking xp doesn't really make a significant impact until you get to the late game stuff, at which point it's pretty easy to get and I usually have a ton anyway. Same goes for the magic. Both of those things add little stuff to the game, but if they went away tomorrow I'm not sure I'd really notice or care. The hunger mechanic does bother me though. I get the idea behind having it, but I'm not real fond of the current implementation. As soon as my food bar drops a tiny bit I consume whatever edible I'm carrying with me. Keeping full food status so that my health regenerates is a lot of maintenance and at times distracts me from crafting stuff because I'm cooking steak or hunting chickens. What I would prefer is to see your health regenerate fastest when you have full food, then the rate slowly decreases as you get hungry until you start losing it due to starvation.

The Emissary isn't a great episode, but like I said, it will have some importance for Worf later on, which is the only reason I suggested it.

It is strangely compelling that way. I'm finding I really like the off-TV thing. During college my roommate and I both brought TVs, so we'd use one to play games and the other to watch TV. I like that I can do that again, and from the sound of it I think I prefer this method to the Xbone's way.

For some reason last night I got the International Friendship Song from Animaniacs stuck in my head and decided the only way to remedy this was to watch that bit again. Several hours later and I'm still watching random Animaniacs clips. What really surprised me was how many jokes and such I didn't understand or comprehend as a kid that I now get, such as the entire Heart of Twilight segment which is a parody of Heart of Darkness (and Apocalypse Now of course). Also more adult innuendo than I remember. One prominent example to me was an episode where they're detectives or something. Cut to Dot yelling "I found him!" and holding the singer Prince. Yakko then says "No, no, no, fingerprints". Dot looks at Prince for a second, then says "Nah" and throws him out the window.

After much wandering, I finally found a horse. His name is Barquist. I also made an anvil and a spare lead. Both are in the stables. There are some extra name tags in the chest as well.

Really the only one I would definitely recommend is The Measure of a Man. A Matter of Honor is kind of interesting if you like Riker and Klingons. Q Who has some important plot points in it. The Emissary has some significance for Worf that will have repercussions later on. The rest are probably skippable.

I don't know all of them but I do know that the previously mentioned Conspiracy episode wasn't originally going to be an alien takeover, but instead involve a military coup. But Roddenberry was against the idea because he said Starfleet would never stoop to that and insisted that it be aliens instead. Also the reason the Federation doesn't have cloaking technology is because Roddenberry said "our heroes don't sneak around" so they created a treaty in the show in which the Federation agreed not to develop cloaking devices. Both of those rules are broken later in DS9.

I enjoyed Sean calling Spelunky Chris' "Irene Adler", something I didn't catch until a second listen.

Roddenberry passed away at the beginning of Season 5 of TNG (Unification I is dedicated to his memory). After that, for the most part, the producers tried to stick with his original vision but they deviated more and more as time went on. As a joke, the writers used to blindfold the bust of Roddenberry they had whenever they were about to violate one of his rules (such Gambit, Part I which has space pirates in it).

That's the Conspiracy episode BigJKO was talking about above. Sadly it never received a follow up episode, although apparently the origin of the parasites was revealed in the books.

I admit to having a more tepid reaction to the initial reveal than most people here, but I am now definitely more interested having heard this.

I actually agree with you about Troi's mom. I don't really like her either, but the end of Menage is hilarious enough I felt I had to mention it.

I was playing Wind Waker HD last night and I completely forgot this game lets you take selfies now. What a dumb and hilarious thing to include. I probably spent a good 10 minutes running around making Link look like an idiot.

That would be Skin of Evil, which I previously mentioned as one of the dumbest episodes of the whole series. I like most of the Q episodes too, with the exception of Qpid (Q makes the crew reenact Robin Hood with one of Picard's previous love interests as Marian). Tapestry also has Q in it despite not having Q in the title, although Picard is the focus and Q is only there as a plot device. I also like most of the Barclay episodes (The Nth Degree, Realm of Fear, Ship in a Bottle, Genesis) because I think he's a more interesting character than some of the regulars. Other silly but fun episodes include: Who Watches the Watchers - 3x04 (A primitive civilization think Picard is God) Menage a Troi - 3x24 (Includes the scene where Picard reads love poetry to Troi's mom/the voice of the Enterprise computer/Gene Roddenberry's wife) Rascals - 6x07 (Some of the crew are transformed into children and have to take back the ship from the Ferengi)
