  1. I have beaten a video game! I never got tired of playing the game. I got apparently exactly 100 shrines without explicitly trying to, and then felt like it was time to fight Ganon. But the best hours were definitely the first... I dunno, two thirds of the game, when I didn't know what would be over the next hill, around the next cliffside, through the next forest, across the next river. Once I got through the third Divine Beast, I'd climbed every tower, and explored every area to my own personal satisfaction. I shouldn't have saved the Gerudo for the end, 'cause it's my least favorite area in the whole game, haha. Deserts don't do it for me... Oh well. I'm actually far from tired of the game, but also I don't like the prospect of scouring the land all over again for those nooks and crannies I might have missed. I'll save the sidequests I still have for... when I play it again later this year?? If I do?? I'm super curious to see what the DLC will be. Specifically the additional "story". Will it be post-game content? Flashback memories? Hmmm! NOW ZELDA LORE QUESTION TIME (LOL WHAT??) i thought the rito were supposed to have evolved from the zora in wind waker, but here they are existing alongside each other what's up with that??
  2. No Man's Sky

It does look pretty cool. I said after fiddling with the previous update a bit that I'd wait until the next update before jumping in. At this point there's a pretty significant amount of changes from launch. On the other hand... I still have Zelda. I'm a fan of the variety of things they're adding to No Man's Sky. It's not all necessarily something I personally will touch (permadeath??), but it's cool to have options. I think it's good. I'm also just glad they didn't let the absurd overreaction to its subpar launch get to them. Or, at least, if they did, they did it in a constructive way.
  3. I Had A Random Thought...

    too often
  4. The Next President

it's literally called "World's Greatest Healthcare Plan of 2017" on congress.gov CONGRESS DOT GOV https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/1275/text
  5. in this case the joke is in suggesting nick would be required to start over again perhaps more specifically that he would have to suffer through dark souls again because it'd be fun/ny for viewers
  6. Buncha indie games and otherwise smaller titles. Spla2n. I'll probably grab Mario Kart 8 again, now that I can bring it to work and play with friends over lunch. Arms. Puyo Puyo Tetris. Still haven't grabbed Snipperclips. At least a dozen games on the Switch this year (assuming no delays) that I at least have my eye on..
  7. Streetpass I miss. ...That's the only thing I miss. Otherwise it's perfect for me so far. I actually couldn't be happier with it.
  8. Logan

There are two Logan threads. O:
  9. Logan

It's the only X-Men movie I've liked to date. The ending was a bit too cheesy compared to the rest of the movie, but it wasn't bad.
  10. Oh man oh man this game is great. At every turn there's something to do, and it's always got several avenues of attack, and they're all fun avenues and goddamn what a great game. It's never boring and no matter where I decide to go, there's guaranteed to be SOMETHING at my destination, or seemingly endless numbers if somethings to do along the way. Fuck yeah.
  11. ! I can empathize though. Plenty of things I wish I liked that I just don't and don't get it either. I finally played it and it is... Really good.
  12. I've been downloading it all day at work. I'm at 5%!!!!!
  13. Someone needs to make a breakthrough on portable batteries some time soon, right?! We've been pushing against this wall for so long now. D:
  14. All of the Nintendo fanpeople I know complain about Nintendo far more than the people who don't like Nintendo. It's always interesting to see this weird mixup in how people feel about how other people feel about Nintendo. EDIT: Err to be clear I am talking about the internet at large and not this thread. Like I see people who don't like Nintendo campaigning against them at every turn. I see people who love Nitnendo whining about everything they do. I see people who love Nintendo whining about people whining about Nintendo. I see people who hate Nintendo perplexed at people who love Nintendo proclaiming Nintendo's imminent death. Occasionally, I see people who just like Nintendo games and want to play them. It's rare, though. I've been part of a community of Nintendo fans (dwindling for years and years and now just a group of ~5 people in a Slack over yonder) and today there was an argument about whether or not friend codes means the system's going to die. (Of course, in between all this, there's talk about Trump, and the ACLU (a few of us are members), and shitty things happening in tech (like the recent stories about sexism at Uber, and how it's everywhere), but... that's neither here nor there. This is about NINTENDO. And Nintendo is doomed. It's something I've been engrossed with basically since I discovered the internet, and I still don't understand why Nintendo invigorates such strong feelings of animosity.
  15. Haha damn that is one brutal review. I love it. (I mean that sincerely. But then I also love reading Tom Chick's reviews. He's one of my favorite reviewers. Reviewers who aren't afraid to be completely straight with their own opinions about games like Zelda, almost guaranteed to be adored by the masses, are my jam.) This is now the only review I've read for BOTOW, and it's quite fun reading someone who is so the complete opposite of me tear apart a game I'm fairly certain I'm going to love.
  16. Like I said, I think those are the same people who would assert it's not really a problem to begin with. If it were a problem to them, they wouldn't be able to focus on the positive. At least, that's how I am. I desperately wish, every day, that I could focus on the positive. It is my preferred state of being. But I'm overwhelmed by negative feelings about various aspects of things I consume (and the things that surround those things), so even if I would rather focus on the positive... I can't. I also think what you're describing is different from the proposed argumentative caricature of a human being portrayed above. Ah, I misunderstood!
  17. you've encountered someone who would otherwise criticize, say, fire emblem, for its creepy pedo thousand year old dragon shit, but then when, say, zelda comes out, they use zelda as an excuse to suddenly assert that creepy pedo thousand year old dragon shit isn't important? i've certainly encountered people who would say it's not a problem from the start, but i've never encountered someone who would actually criticize it one moment, and then defend it by proxy the next... even on gaf i've never seen anyone like this! maybe they exist in 4chan, a place i've never dared venture
  18. i've literally never encountered anyone like this in my entire life
  19. literally no accessories i need none of them
  20. Hah, well, there it is.
  21. The Next President

it's pretty fuckin gross isn't it
  22. Huh, that's interesting. That said, I don't think Reggie has any say in the matter, and probably often has incomplete information.
