It may be that mid-production they decided that he should talk after all and dubbed over some scenes and also recorded some other new scenes.

Yeah I get what it's doing and I would gladly use it in all languages, but it just seems kind of esoteric in nature. Someone new to programming would be like "what".

I like that as shorthand but it doesn't really make... sense? Logically? Eh. There's also stuff like "if str.Empty()" in other languages and whatever.

I liked Hardy a lot, too, for the reasons osmosich stated. It really worked for me for him to have so few lines and for them all to be rough and stilted because the story was about everyone around him. He just happened to get involved, basically accidentally, and he clearly was out of his element for basically the whole movie - at least in terms of social interactions. There's a slight redemption arc (explicitly stated) for him, but it's not the focus of the movie. I would gladly watch Hardy again in a new Mad Max movie. (Assuming continued excellent quality all around.) I didn't know he was Bane. He is quite attractive, though.

Aren't they the "Chalfonts" in the movie? The trailer park landlord guy even says "the last two families to live here both has the name 'Chalfont'". I mean, I get that they're widely referred to as the "Tremonds", but the movie had a different name. (At least according to the subtitles when I was watching. I suppose they could've been incorrect!) He basically, IIRC, pulled the whole "feminism is bad because it's only about women" thing? I may be mixing it up with someone else around the same period, but, yes, he definitely keeps putting his foot in his mouth. Which makes me super sad because I always liked him a lot. ):

Yeah I agree with all of that. It's a sad state of affairs. I think people just being aware of things would help a lot, but they really aren't. They treat it as complete freedom until the moment their own freedom is impeded upon. ...I guess that's kind of how people treat a lot of things in life, though. Bleh.

I agree that there are certainly degrees of privacy but also feel that people need to understand that Twitter is public. I think a lot of people who use it don't realize that until it's far too late. The issues of privacy on the internet is something about which I think the vast majority of people who use it are... not educated. This is not necessarily their fault, but even so.

Yes I definitely agree it's rare. Just pointing out that it can and has been done. I should play Zeno Clash 2 at some point since I loved the first one so much...

I'd also like this. And get Sean in there, too, because, if I'm not mistaken, he also worked on it, and, if I'm not mistaken, has stated his distaste for Twin Peaks on the main 'cast. I've wondered for a while how that went down. -
That's definitely true and it's probably my biggest hurdle, heh. That said, besides learning the vocab/kanji (which is really just a lot a lot of memorization), the reading/writing part was always easiest for me. I mean I guess that's probably usually true when learning a language, but I loved learning how to draw all the different characters. The speaking part, on the other hand, I was garbage at. Just a pile of steaming hot garbage. I could ask vague directions and order food at a restaurant at one point, but any conversation was unlikely to happen. CONSIDER IT ADDED.

This is the first time I've watched this movie (though I have watched the series before - I either read or assumed that the movie was a retelling of the first episode, or I got it confused with the European version of the first episode, or something, or whatever, anyway I didn't watch it intentionally, shame on me). So it was great! I don't have much to say because I am not a deep or meaningful person but I was proud of myself for noticing this: the finger that Leland obsesses over when inspecting Laura's filthy hands, the dirt under the fingernails, it's the same finger that Cooper finds the letter in. Left hand ring finger! I thought that was a cool little detail. -

I like how you say "everyone thinks it'll be great" when basically every opinion I've read or heard - everything that isn't the typical hype-train video game preview article that exists for all of video games - is exactly what you're saying. Complete with "I don't know why everyone's so excited". Over and over and over. And I mean it's cool to be negative and all but fucking hell I'm so tired of seeing it.

That is weird. I'm sort of conflicted about the lack of a weight system after beating Dark Souls again a couple days ago. On the one hand it's annoying not to be able to have fast roll and the best armor, but on the other hand that's what makes it interesting! So when are we gonna play some chalice dungeons?! -

Yeah that shit's awkward. Sometimes I'll just not eat lunch with the work lunch group if they're going to one of two places because at this point I know I just don't like those places. But I'll eat almost any cuisine. And then on the other side of the coin, it's frustrating when I actually suggest something and everyone fights my suggestion and we end up going a place we've been to a thousand times. ):
