  1. The IT Curated Steam Tag List

I am strongly opposed to this implementation of Steam tags. It's plainly not meant to be helpful for Steam users or shoppers. But since I'm more of a troll than a Steam shopper, that's fine by me. Has the tag "Baby Game" been used yet?
  2. Recently completed video games

Snowed in and unable to go to work, I completed Earthbound. It was my second time playing the game, I remember the endgame being punishing—and it was! There's no real way to level up enough to survive multiple battles with the advanced Starmen—you just have to hope you don't get diamondized, etc. Should I move right on to Mother 3...?
  3. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

This is my first time seeing this thread. You are all amazing, wonderful people!
  4. Just watched "Bride of Chaotica" based on this list. It was the first time I watched Voyager in years and it was difficult for me to watch such a dysfunctional ensemble. Russ and Beltran weren't the focus of the episode, and they looked positively resentful that they had to show up. It made the show really lopsided; Phillips and Ryan weren't the focus, either, and they were fine. Mulgrew was basically acting like Eartha Kitt as the titular character, so that was fun.
  5. Whoa, this universe is insane.
  6. I only watched the fourth season of the show. I enjoyed some of the three-episode arcs: - Borderlands/Cold Station 12/The Augments - Brent Spiner guest stars as an evil Dr. Soong ancestor. - The Forge/Awakening/Kir'Shara - Vulcan stuff that Bakula plays pretty well. I also perversely really enjoyed the final episode "These Are The Voyages", because it's just a Next Generation episode that treats Enterprise like it isn't worth watching.
  7. Recently completed video games

I finished a second playthrough of Portal 2 two weeks ago and found it just as funny. You're right; Valve is so good at humor and storytelling through their single player games. They make something insanely hard look easy, and as a company now it's something they don't seem interested in at all. I have been playing user-created levels and have found some really good ones—including recreations of Plinko from The Price is Right! I want to try out the co-op sometime, because apparently those missions are really good. And I guess they tied into the main story at the end? I didn't really pick up on that during my first playthrough.
  8. JazzPunk - A Retro Spyberpunk Comedy Adventure

I am posting in this thread just to make sure I see a star next to this so I know I am interested in this game. Please let your previously stated awe and amazement stand in for my own.
  9. Dota Today 10: Dunkin' Bro-nuts

Wow, since I know nothing about Dota, after a while of Brad talking about you I thought, "Wait, is Crispy a Lord in the game or is he a player?" Also, how did we end up with "dotatoda" and not "dota2day"?
  10. Their first release ends up just being a banner ad reading: "Dunk on Obama and win!"
  11. Tone Control is a Podcast!

I have been saying Bone Control twice a month. "Gotta listen to the ol' Bone Control..."
  12. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

Have you used the biscuit cutter for anything yet?
  13. That description makes me want to see a Kerbal Nick Breckon added to Kerbal Space Program. I loved this episode so much. Nick Breckon is my spirit animal.
  14. Making a game? Pitch it here!

MIngton gave you an example goal, but you don't need a hook yet. You should either work on more of your character/story/dialogue or just start creating your game in whatever tool you feel like exploring. It may be that the story comes out of the way you play the game. Have you seen the William Inge play Bus Stop? I haven't, but it is all about characters in a diner next to a bus stop. Have you played GTA IV? Are you ready? Do the bus stop.
  15. Video Game mechanics to retire

    Tuesday is Kitty Hat Day.
  16. Saturday Morning Streams

I miss the be-scarved Goldblum pic...
  17. Tone Control 8: TOM FRANCIS

I will always confuse this game with Sid Meier's Silent Service for the C64. It's time for the resurgence of submarine games!
  18. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

Ugh! I forgot about that. I got skeeved opening my inventory every time after that. They wiggled! Now I'm hoping Broken Age doesn't have an animated inventory.
  19. Searching for @fullbright "deal with it" on Twitter reveals an example of this pose—just not from Steve:
  20. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

Yes, it's another option on the Humble Bundle page—the same place that had the Steam key. I have downloaded it but not yet listened to it.
  21. Video Game mechanics to retire

I never played it, but did the NES Friday the 13th game do that? I can't tell from the Wikipedia description.
  22. Half-Life 3

I just played through Portal 2 and was really disturbed to see that the Valve logo guy now turns around. I hope Source 2 makes him sit still.
  23. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

Zodiac MF and Steve are my favorite mismatched buddy comedy on Twitter.

Colonel Campbell: "Snake, if you want to go up or down a ladder, just press the Action Button by the ladder. Approach the ladder and press the Action Button to climb it."
