Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - Return of Grumpy Chiselarms
elmuerte replied to Atlantic's topic in Video Gaming
I haven't even done the first real mission. I've been robbing people in Prague a doing a few side missions. I created pretty much the same characters as before, a lot of hacking skills early in the game so I can break into everything. -
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - Return of Grumpy Chiselarms

(didn't read any of the previous comment) I'm a huge asshole, breaking into people's houses stealing their credits and booze. So far I've done the tutorial, which has a shitty end I did not enjoy. and the first two side missions. Is it just me or is the game way less stylized? They're trying to be more realistic in all forms, except for the enormous augmented overlays. -

I've had noisy disks. Disks which are simply loud on activity (WD black), disks which are about to die (high pitched whines), and disks which weren't well suited in the casing. For the latter, there are rubber grommets, washers, rails, and other rubbery things you can use to seriously silence them. -
I finished the Altas path

ugh, the current version has a bug that sometimes causes enemy ships to get lost in space. The game still thinks they are close so you cannot use the boost or pulse drive. I got somewhat stranded 1+ hour away from any planet :/

I currently have 2 Dell Ultrasharp U2412M. So, just 1920x1200 and no 4K. Also no immediate plans to replace these screens any time soon. And when I am, nVidia probably released the 1100 series. 32GiB might be a lot for games, but I'm also a software dev and professionally working on enterprise software. While 16GiB is usually enough I've often reached the max. Also, RAM is dirt cheap. Hell, even my simple Linux HTPC has 16GiB of RAM. I've been looking more into this M.2 stuff. The SSD I picked uses SATA over M.2 and thus does not have any speed improvement over just using the SATA version of the same SSD. The ePCI M.2 cards are about 50% per GB more expensive, but offer speeds up to 3 times as high. -

I'm building a new workstation/game-PC. My previous systems were all Dell XPS systems, which back in the day had ok configurations for ok money. But these days the XPS desktops are really outdated. And AlienWare is seriously overpriced, getting a similar setup is about 50% more expensive. So right now I have this config: CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K / 3.5 GHz Motherboard: ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1070 GAMING X 8G Case: Fractal Design Define R5 PSU: Corsair RM Series RM750x RAM: 4x Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GiB (so 32 in total). Cooler: Scythe Mugen 4 Primary storage (M.2): Samsung 850 EVO MZ-N5E500BW Secondary storage: WD Blue WD40EZRZ BD Drive: ASUS BC 12D2HT I'm going to have the store where I order it also build the system because I'm too lazy to that myself. Any remarks or suggestions for improvement of this setup? I'm not sure if I'm packing enough Watts. I didn't choose for a 1070 SLI set up because I'm not convinced it's really worth it. edit: bumped up the PSU from 550 to 750 -
the pop-in is quite noticeable for pillar geometry. For me it starts off as a small line and then suddenly become quite wide. The pop-in is mostly noticeable when flying around in high(er) speeds.

The Solus Project An exploration game with quite a bit survivaling going on. The game page says that there are no enemies, but there is a Lost-like smoke monster at various places which is a real annoyance. Having to deal with this monster a couple of times really bugged the hell out of me. I wanted to play this game for it's exploration stuff. But most of the time I was crawling through rather boring caves and trying to stay alive. You spend quite a bit of time drinking and eating and getting dry. On top of that regular sleeping, getting cool or warm. A lot of time spend on surviving, and less about surviving. So that was a bit of a disappointment.

tsk, you first have to play ABZU anyway

starting from August you'll only be able to perform a free upgrade to Windows 10 anniversary edition. -
I've used the lasers a lot. Actually most of the time, only sucking heads off when I was without a body. I also used the rolling attack quite a bit when I unlocked it.

Steam lists a 32nd achievement, but you cannot get that one. It was was cut from the game, but still left in the steam info: http://steamcommunity.com/app/340000/discussions/0/353915309332311023/#c353915309334439947

Head Lander has been completed It's about 7 hours long (9 to do every thing). It's a fun game, in general not really challenging. So it plays away nicely. The style is simply great, especially the living quarters have so much nice details. The stuff on the moon and the power plant on the main base are mostly too contrived. It still looks good though. Gameplay wise there isn't much detail to head play. It's mostly getting the right body for security clearance. And besides that there are 3 other special head cases. It's not like you have to find a firefighter body to put out a fire to be able to get to the next room, and get an electrician to fix an elevator. Btw, if you're on steam the 32nd achievement is not reachable. It was left in by mistake.

batch files?

I finished it \o/ The last mission was a though one. Almost completed it properly, but I fell to my death twice :/ And there's one mission I wasn't able to complete without setting off the alarm, I'm not sure if it's possible. I see no other way then moving even faster, I'm short about 1.5 seconds for the 10 second time window. One thing I noticed is there are plenty of commands I never even used throughout the game.

Just finished Quadrilateral Cowboy Great game, cool concept. There will probably be some awesome mods in the future. Would be a cool if a larger studio can create an "HD" version of this, or even a Quadrilateral Hitman.
-
Only halfway through the game, the toolset keeps on expanding with cool things. Quadrilateral Hitman as sequel?
-
I just finished Samorost 3 It's really good, even better than the previous games. There's a lot of fun stuff with music, and the music is excellent. Really enjoyed playing this one.

Rollers of the Realm Not the greatest pinball game. The last level was a real pain and tedious has hell. Hand to grind the hell out of it in order to buy enough upgrades in order to beat the last level. Clock Simulator I'm a clock now! Become a clock by being the clock's second hand. It's a tiny game, but sort of fun.

what's wrong with the first one? I've lovely 80s style
