The jump of usability from Windows 3.11 to Windows 95 was huge. Every release after that had some usability improvements in some places, removed a bunch of useability features else were. The main focus of the releases was put on the graphics. Windows 8 is probably the worst step so far. They ruined the start menu in various ways, they enforced the mistake called "ribbon" to the rest of the UI. "Explorer" has never been as bad as this.

Will the game have a goal? Or is it just sandbox?

The instakill-permadeath mode of SSD is reason enough for me not to use it. I'd rather go for an SSD Caching solution where writes are backed by a harddrive.

I've been watching horror movies since I was a child, so I'm not easily scared. I'm also not jumpy, although I have been startled a couple of times. As for scary games, I haven't played any that I would really qualify as scary (haven't played Amnesia yet). But there have been games that startled me a couple of times, they are usually FPS games where I sneak around and suddenly get surprised by an enemy or trap that I really didn't expect. This happened to me a couple of times in Skyrim. But also non-scary games like Rainbow Six managed to do that a couple of times.
