  1. Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG

The city does feel empty in the beginning, and compared to other areas rather empty. But more stuff will happen. Part of the city is needed in this way to be used later in the story,
  2. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Ok, I'm done with the game now. Did mission 45, what and absolute piece of shit. It's really broken. After that I did a FOB invasion mission, boring as hell.
  3. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

    the opening mission is unranked
  4. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

I unlocked mission 46 (the true ending mission) after I did another side op. So, indeed you do not have to play any of the mission repeats in part 2. You just have to play enough side ops. I haven't unlocked mission 45 yet, but looking back in this thread I don't know if I want to play it. Mission 46 kind of sucked big time

Just completed the "true ending" of Metal Gear Solid 5. Although I still have actual story 1 mission to unclock, I did complete the main story thingy. It's a for me simply because it's just way too long. The should have just removed all the mission replays from part 2 (even though I didn't play any of them) and removed the high requirement of completion of side ops just to complete the main story. Additionally, I did not like the fact that you are mostly punished by the game for being stealthy (as time is the most import factor to get a high rank) and that you are quite often forced into combat for the story missions even though you were a ghost up to that part. That being said, the game mechanics are really really polished (except for walking up tiny slopes). A little while ago I went back to the weird "demo" of MGSV "Ground Zeroes", and playing that felt like going back in time 5+ years.
  6. I agree with Jake on Mario 64. The game feels like they had some arbitrary mario like "worlds" which exist in no relation to each other, stitched it together with a magic castle and teleporters and added arbitrary quests to complete to open a door. And the worlds itself felt like tech demos where they smushed together geometric shapes and colors.

I hate when that happens. Dropped in to do 2 side ops close to eachother which I could easily do without getting additional supplies, prepare the shit out of everything. And then the moment when you fulton the primary target of a side you get pulled out. Happened at least 3 time.
  8. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

I've managed to avoid doing all those stupid repeat missions. But now I ran out of story missions. Apparently I need to unlock them by playing the repeats :/ I really do not feel like playing the same mission again, just with a higher difficulty. Especially not the skulls crap.

I think the hamburger tapes are the best.
  10. Meow.

Once cats accept the new can opener they will protect it.
  11. Movie/TV recommendations

Just saw Terminator: Genisys. I am satisfied. It's not a great Terminator movie. It's not on the level of T1 and T2. I liked the story, I liked the action and humor, and it's ratio. The fan service was clearly present. But, it was mostly just another modern Hollywood action movie. Just like most action movies it's just non-stop action. There is no rest, there's no reflection. I'm still not sure if I like T1 more than T2 or the other way around. T1 is just a different genre than T2, and the others. So, my current ranking is: (T1,T2), Terminator: Genisys, Terminator 3, ... the other one. The best part of this movie is that they haven't fucked with the story line. They made it properly open and vague to fit in the story of T1 and T2 where T3 and the other one were breaking what was previously established. So props to the writers to not fuck up something with is seriously easy to fuck up. I need a new Future Shock.

The Beginner's Guide A walking simulator which is purely narrative driven. There isn't much besides the story being presented. Just like in Dear Esther. It's not like with Gone Home where there's more to do. In TBG you just walk through the world hitting queues for the story to be told. The story didn't really speak to me, so for me it's just a . Coffin Dodgers A bad kart racer. It even feels unfinished in some parts, like upgrades which do not exist, but there is a slot visible. The levels aren't that great, quite often I got stuck behind a piece of geometry. Armikrog Spiritual successor to The Neverhood. In the end, rather disappointing. If you never played The Neverhood, or any other rather obscure adventure games, you might hate the game. Some of the puzzles are quite brutal to solve, requiring you to do obscure things or back track a lot. There is zero explanation on how the game works. The game in fact is just simply, just point and click. No inventory management needed, everything guides itself (which is not something you would expect). In a few cases there was some serious pixel hunting going on. When you start the game it is really promising with a nice into movie, but it falls apart quite quickly. The voice audio is really bad, everything sounds like it has been recorded in a large empty room. It happened to me a couple of times where the audio/music broke down. I did not experience any serious gameplay issues.
  13. Armikrog: Earthworm Neverhood 2?

Ok, finished it. I would say in overall it is rather disappointing.
  14. Armikrog: Earthworm Neverhood 2?

I am at, I think, 75%. And it's true. It's quite buggy, but so far it hasn't been game breaking for me. I have wasted a lot of time trying to figure out what to do (but this was also the case with Neverhood).
  15. General Video Game Deals Thread

given my collection, it will probably be just things I already have
  16. Star Citizen

Indeed, Chris Roberts has really come through with his promises in the last few years.
  17. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Completed the game yesterday... part 1. I'm not sure how I feel about continuing on when most of the missions are just rehashes of previous missions. I really hope none of them are skulls replays of missions.
  18. Bedlam - A post apocalypse Banner Saga

I like the art. The writing/lore is a bit flat though. I've played up to half way, and a quite a bit after that until I got stuck on a loading screen.
  19. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

I completed the Fire man part of mission 20 yesterday. It was easy as hell, because he glitched out and didn't move from his place which was too far from the heli.
  20. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

I figured that much, despite radio man explicitly telling you to take out the guy before calling the heli. Anyway, I tried that in my last attempt, and it failed. Fire man was going after the heli instead of me so he didn't get close to the water tower. So apparently I have to time it better and juggle the menu quick enough not to get blown up while calling in the heli.
  21. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Fucking hell. Now it's mission 20 which is a huge pain in the ass. Pretty much every main story mission that involves the serious bad guys is so disconnected from the rest of the gameplay. Resulting in retry upon retry upon retry to the point I've had enough for the constant failing and I turn off the game. I'm not failing because I feel like I'm screwing up, I'm failing because I'm apparently not doing something completely right according to a hidden plan. So if the very spoiler heavy intro credits feature anything like Skulls, Skullface, Man on fire, ... it's a guarantee to become a shitty mission near the end which completely lacks fun and only contains frustration. I'm starting to feel like the original game was just these shitty missions, but the decided to make the game idiotically long by adding additional missions (and side missions) which I actually do like playing.
  22. nah, the megaphone effect of Remo in the new song makes it sound like there's somebody in the heli shouting "video games" through the speaker
  23. You're all doing it wrong. There is only 1 suitable song for the heli:
  24. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

I hate those Skulls. Just did Mission 16, the one where you have to capture the truck. After many failures to complete it I looked up how to complete the mission. First tried a solution I found on youtube, but that didn't work for me. The damn truck kept getting destroyed before I could escape. Then I found a reddit post full of loathing on this mission, and some other ways. Eventually I succeeded. But it was no on my terms. Fuck the skulls. They do not make the game fun.
