  1. Ouya: Ooooh Yeah!

Based on the video, they are not marketing it (at least solely) as a means of playing mobile games on your tv. It wouldn't even be suitable for that because it uses a traditional gamepad instead of a touchscreen. Edit: apparently it will have a touchpad..
  2. Yeah.. Noticed that too after posting the video. Watch this instead:
  3. Movie/TV recommendations

I stumbled upon Adventure Time a couple of days ago and thought "What the fuck is this? ". After about a dozen episodes I still don't know the answer and I don't care.
  4. Ouya: Ooooh Yeah!

If they manage to deliver it with that price and those specs, then I don't see how this is a bad idea. I would consider one for media center and tinkering purposes alone.
  5. McPixel

Played through the first chapter and then some. Good stuff! I made this.
  6. I'm in Berlin! Tell me what to do.

I will actually spend four days in Berlin due to a conference in August, so I'm interested to hear these recommendations as well. Can't afford to miss the last day of the conference though.
  7. Microsoft Surface

I like how that size comparison sketch is presented in such a strong perspective. Very Apple Keynote-ish. Also, that Microsoft Surface thing looks interesting.
  8. McPixel

Oh, the idea of getting $1 discount by submitting McPixel fanart is wonderful. I think I will take advantage of that eventually.
  9. Happy Birthday!

    Haaappy birthdaaaay!
  10. McPixel

    Thanks toblix! Whoever you are.
  11. McPixel

Just out of curiosity, what is your connection to McPixel? EDIT: I'd be interested in free McPixel, although I'm only able to play and potentially pay for it after two weeks or so.
  12. Life

That's actually comedian Johnny Vegas' smile on Home Alone Bird Lady's face.
  13. The threat of Big Dog

While that is obviously just a fancy way to demonstrate the capabilities of their system, I prefer to think that we live in a world where there could exist a project proposal of several hundreds of thousands of euros with a sole purpose of building an unbeatable rock-paper-scissors robot.
  14. Movie/TV recommendations

Started watching Community some weeks ago and Yup, started watching Community some weeks ago and it is amazing! I chose it over A Game of Thrones, having watched a couple of episodes each, just because it was so refreshingly positive and heartwarming. I love the lack of total assholes and excruciating season-long tension between any two characters. Even the guy who is constantly called out for his racism and sexism is less racist and sexist than many characters in other shows who are almost never given a hard time for that sort of things. It's also refreshing that Jeff is treated as a sex object more than the leading women (and not just by gays). This (too) is a silly thing to point out but the theme that plays when everybody is acting sensible and treating others like they should be treated is the best. And the video game episode: Holy shit!
  15. Yeah.. By you, a few posts up.
  16. Beautiful stuff! And how awesome is Music From The Motion Picture The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford?
  17. Hello world : >> Hello world :
  18. And there is still this colon problem. :
  19. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

Fascinating! I didn't get the pun either even though I kinda thought I did (I assumed it had something to do with crows gathering around dead bodies). Battery of barracudas I was aware of but I don't even know if it belongs to the same category.
  20. For some reason I had completely ignored the prospect of playing board games on iPhone before. I had never played Ascension before and am now hooked. I bought all the expansions and I'm thinking about buying the physical version as well if I can find one. I will check out Neuroshima Hex the next.
  21. 2001 a space odyssey....

I listened through the audiobook a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, I don't remember much of the book, except that I wasn't super into it. I'd assume that most people had seen the movie before reading the book. I had it the other way around, but upon watching the film, I realized that seeing the movie wouldn't have spoiled* the reading experience at all. I wonder how many people have picked up the book just to find out what the hell was going on in the movie. * Christopher Priest's The Prestige has been sitting on my bookshelf for who knows how long now.
  22. Driver: San Francisco

No problem. I probably wouldn't have paid full price for the game but I'm enjoying it so far. Good mindless fun.
  23. Driver: San Francisco

Dug up this thread just to confirm this. Someone did an outstanding work picking the songs. Someone's Spotify playlist.
