  1. The Walking Dead

I typically leave the biggest villains alive - having brutally murdered all their henchmen first, of course - because I have learned that these are the decisions that really define me in the end.
  2. Discworld

Worth trying, I guess? I have only read a couple of his books, and long time ago, so I'll let others recommend the starting novel.
  3. Discworld

What do mean by "not really a reader of fiction"? If you appreciate Pratchett's work, what is stopping you from reading more* of his books? * Assuming that your opinion is not based on the video games/movies/series.
  4. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

Not the Absolute edition, but it says "Additional coloring & Digital Finishing 2005 by John Higgins". Whatever that means. The Black Freighter stuff is still distinguishable from the rest.
  5. Curiosity: What's in the cube?

Nothing. It is not hollow. http://www.idlethumbs.net/forums/topic/8217-curiosity-%E2%80%93-whats-inside-the-cube/
  6. Have you tried restarting yet? It seems to reset at least some of the item positions. (Or at least that ones that were in your hands, appear next to you in the ground.) EDIT: heh.. too slow.
  7. It was under the explosive barrel closest to the gate on both of my playthroughs. If it is not there and if you are sure you haven't moved it, then that sounds like a nasty game-breaking bug.
  8. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

I knew what sort of package Building Stories was when I ordered it, but it turned out I had completely underestimated its size. When picked it up in the post office, I had to double-check that it was really my name in there.
  9. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

Like Argobot and Nachimir, I found the Watchmen highly enjoyable even without reading a bunch of "regular" superhero comics as a background material. I think I have gathered enough knowledge about the superhero culture through movies, cartoon series, books (especially The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay), etc., to be able to appreciate what Alan Moore was going for. Obviously, there is no way of telling which portion of the references I missed, but I don't think that is an issue. I enjoyed the reading experience, although it took some time to adjust to actually studying the frames and not just reading the speech bubbles. For some reason I absolutely loved the coloring. That said, the book didn't really get me excited about superhero comics. To be fair, I didn't expect it to. I just bought Building Stories, though.
  10. The ability to teleport to certain locations or to other characters would probably have affected the puzzles too much. At least your companions catch up with you once you reach a "checkpoint". I finished the game two times. I like the character specific puzzles a lot. I have yet to experience the hillbilly story, but I think that will wait a little bit, because 5/6th of the playthrough would be repetition. Have they talked about DLC yet?
  11. Music of the games of video

Hotline Miami soundtrack is finally available on Steam. Note: Requires the base game in order to play.
  12. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

New album on February. Fuck yeah!
  13. Arrgh.. I was stuck in the time traveler level for 30+ minutes just because Apart from that, I have enjoyed the game a lot so far.
  14. I haven't played the game yet, but that sounds less like an obsession with threes and more like a natural consequence of the decision of having three characters and three player co-op.
  15. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

    http://www.polygon.c...-u-by-this-fall Also, Half-Life 3.
  16. Books, books, books...

I liked Inherent Vice a lot. Much lighter read than The Crying of Lot 49 and, presumably, all the other Pynchon novels as well. I'm not sure how long-time Pynchon fans reacted to it, but I found the book really interesting. I'm even intrigued about the movie adaptation. It could work! I'm not sure if (rumored) Robert Downey Jr. is the right choice to play the part of Larry "Doc" Sportello, though.
  17. Books, books, books...

In case someone missed the blog post, the books for February, March and April are By Blood by Ellen Ullman, Cosmicomics by Italo Calvino and Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel, respectively. I would personally have chosen Calvino's If on a winter's night a traveler instead, as I found it much more interesting than Cosmicomics. I read The Complete Cosmicomics a long time ago, though. Maybe I should re-read it and see if I'm able to enjoy it more now. Oh yeah, also, people should probably buy The Complete Cosmicomics instead, provided that they can find one and that the price difference is not too large.
  18. Mother Night - Kurt Vonnegut

I have read ten of his novels so far. Of those God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater or Pearls Before Swine is probably the closest in style to Mother Night. I aim to read the rest of his novels soon. I tried to preorder the new edition/print of Bluebeard recently, but Amazon eventually cancelled my order and now that edition seems to have vanished entirely. I guess some of his less known book are a bit harder to acquire.
  19. This is the new (console) shit!

I don't know which version of the 360 gamepad I have, but even the simplest actions like changing the weapon in Assassin's Creed are a pain with that D-pad. I can't even imagine using it for more complicated tasks.
  20. Books, books, books...

Kurt Vonnegut's Mother Night, a fictional memoir of an American Nazi propagandist, is an interesting study in this subject.
  21. The Walking Dead

What actually was their reasoning behind it?
