I'm honestly sick of this shit. If there's anything that I hate about Nintendo, it's their archaic way of backing up data. You can't take it upon yourself, there's no track of anything on their side. They offer fucking nothing. If I were to break my 3DS somehow, years of Streetpass bullshit would be gone. At least SOME downloadable games you can back up saves to the SD card and cart games retain the saves, but for fuck sakes Nintendo, try being like everyone else for once. Also the WiiU is still even worse. You can only back up to a USB stick that has to be formatted for that WiiU only. Ugh. I'm awaiting a firmware update to take care of that but I am not holding my breathe. Not enough people complain about this stuff for Nintendo to care, but when we are getting into the days of social software we use for years on end, there's no excuse.

I have now been offered three sweet full time animation jobs since I started going back to school and working at Starbucks due to lack of work and skills for over a year. MOTHER FUCKER! I'm not trying to brag it's just now I'm not sure if I did the right thing, but I have to stay the course. I think... Christ.

Well anything titled with Harvest Moon now is not the original developer. The Polygon article is incorrect because this game is just called Story of Seasons, not Harvest Moon: Story of Seasons. But yeah still the same series.

Twin Peaks Rewatch 12: Laura's Secret Diary
syntheticgerbil replied to Jake's topic in Twin Peaks Rewatch Episodes
Hmm, I wonder if there should be an episode on just the diary. I have no clue how extensive or canon it is though. -
Nevermind, I thought you shared some art duties with Dan on the games, but mobygames seems to confirm not. Didn't you draw the comics you were trying to scan earlier this year in that other thread? You should just write and draw comics. You will be rich I guarantee it.

Twin Peaks Rewatch 12: Laura's Secret Diary

This is now my favorite podcast that makes fun of Twin Peaks. I am thrilled it's going this direction! -
Biased, if it's Cartoon Saloon still I am rooting for you! They are only like super famous and all.

What kind of work are you looking to get into Ben? It's not crappy minimum wage hourly jobs is it?

Idle Thumbs 190: A Very Spectrum HoloByte Christmas
syntheticgerbil replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Well okay, so we spell PSD, we don't say "pissed." Also AEP for After Effects Projects, not ape. So I still stick with FLA spelled like FLA. AI is just "illustrator file" because no one likes to talk about that movie. And SWF is single white female. -

WELL FINE THEN -
My dad has a rule to keep all documents like that for 7 years. And I guess I follow his stupid rule. After 7 I'm screwed though.

My favorite is when people pronounce .flas (Flash files) as "flaws" intstead of just spelling out F L A. -

Sounds like they included at least some of the update. I remember spending about 5 hours of my time, but my connection was slower back then and the download failed after two hours the first time.

Aw man Rodi, that sucks, but yes glad you are okay. I also happened to change my insurance to not have uninsured drivers like four years ago when I didn't have a lot of money and then forgot to turn it back on when I did and then a lady just smashed into the side of my car (passengers) and her insurance was expired. So I was screwed and I drive around with two broken doors forever. I'm surprised your airbags didn't go off. Do you think they are operating well? That's a scary thought to me if they were not working but there was no "Check Airbag" light on.

Man I don't know what to do with threads like this because every year I fail to play any game that has actually come out in that year. In terms of the most fun I've had I think I really enjoyed Tomb Raider Underworld and definitely tons of love for Ratchet and Clank A Crack in Time. Also finished Wario Land 2, that was a joy. So yep, there's my shitty list.

You should have just went with Twin Snakes, the final boss fight is instead fun. Ahh I keep meaning to play this. Glad you liked it, maybe I'll get on it sooner!

Twin Peaks Rewatch 11: The Man Behind Glass
syntheticgerbil replied to Jake's topic in Twin Peaks Rewatch Episodes
I guess that's what I mean, it's a show I personally wouldn't like if it were just played straight and without all the weird cheese or dorky joke parts added in creating a mixture that is often times fun.At the same time the mixture can often times be really stupid in a way I don't care about. However it's not really the comedy that's played that way to me (although the coming up storyline are remarkably idiotic), it's the many of the main plotlines and a lot of the acting that makes me cringe. I also haven't ever seen Fire Walk With Me and I will be watching it the first time along with this podcast. Part of the thing is in general, I've never really liked anything Lynch has directed, so maybe it's just me. They always have their moments and are generally amusing enough but I often usually feel, "well that was a bunch of stupid nonsense" when I finish his movies. But to note, I haven't seen Dune and Elephant Man though, which I need to get to at some point.
