  1. [RELEASE] Blue Hag Christmas

Thanks both! I'm a bit nervous that I won't be able to think of a good story though!
  2. [Dev Blog] Ice Slide

    ("Cool")
  3. "Cars sucks." - A Pixar Thread

I think it makes sense to keep the re-watch discussion in this thread. Also, I would vote for discussing the movies here rather than in live chat...
  4. No it doesn't, you've just had a run of bad luck! No need to worry about a few days lost, though. I'm surprised you got cameras in the slums, though. Did you go up a zone then come back down?
  5. [Dev Blog] Ice Slide

    Groan.
  6. [Dev Log] Ice Break

    Will there be any fauna?
  7. I think when Toy Story first came out I assumed George Clooney was voicing Buzz Lightyear, so it makes sense to me that a Fallout character sounds like both.

TOY STORY SERIES SPOILERS: Woody getting momentarily scared by some hodge-podge toys before realising they're all really nice is not the same as all the heroes slowly going to a horrible death, looking at each other, holding hands, closing their eyes as they accept their doom. I really like that momentary creepiness of the former (and also when they reveal themselves to Sid); the two just don't compare.

My two favourites are Toy Story and The Incredibles, with Wall-E and Inside Out as runners up. I'm not a big fan of any of the others, though they're mostly fine. I was actively pissed off at Toy Story 3 (and to a lesser extent 2), though - I don't want to watch those characters accept their impending death or listen to a soppy ballad about getting abandoned by their owner. If Pixar want to make adult dramas they shouldn't crowbar them into sequels to a light, fun movie.
  10. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

Dammit! Subscribed. I really enjoyed Ex Machina but I felt like not being an American and even more specifically a New Yorker in 2005 hindered me from appreciating certain nuances. I thought I'd seen someone on here saying "fuck Ex Machina" recently, but I couldn't find it so maybe that was another forum. I did see a few people here really liked it though.
  11. Psychonauts 2

I'll just post context for that JP LeBreton quote: http://www.doublefine.com/forums/viewthread/14960/ That was a forum thread asking if they were still working on SB9 because there hadn't been a wealth of announcements. JP's response was that they wouldn't "silently pull the plug", which they didn't. They had a big alpha release 2 weeks after that, and then 2 weeks further on they announced that they were stopping development at v1.0. I didn't pay for SB9 early access, though, and I agree any further discussion should be taken over to that thread, so I'll just say I did back Broken Age and was very happy with how they handled that. Re. Psychonauts: the original was great storytelling, art, voices etc on some slightly iffy gameplay (the platforming's not too fun until you get a few powers, and it's also a bit of a collectathon at the start, then it steadily improves but still has the occasional unfairly punishing level). My most optimistic hope for this game is more of the same with slightly better gameplay and higher res graphics. $33 as the lowest backing price to get a copy of the new game is a little bit steeper than I'm used to with crowdfunders, so I might wait a bit and see how the funding goes/how my finances are after Xmas. Re. the budget, they say:
  12. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

Man, I am reading so much BKV at the moment. I just finished Ex Machina, am about to start on the new volume of Saga, and now this and the final ish of We Stand On Guard are out. I might have to re-read Y The Last Man and re-watch the scene in LOST where Charlie and Hurley argue about who would win in a race between The Flash and Superman.
  13. Criminey, It's Christmas (2015-)!

Sorry, but my answer would have been "yes they both hold up". I don't know if that actually would have helped much. Bjorn and Badfinger, I'm not sure whether you're arguing against me or the article but neither of us said those movies aren't Xmas/holiday movies. Cleinhun is correct.
  14. Criminey, It's Christmas (2015-)!

Finally, an entire article based on the popular internet phenomenon, "My favourite Christmas movie? Why, it is THIS MOVIE THAT DOESN'T REALLY DEAL WITH CHRISTMAS BUT IS SET AT THAT TIME OF YEAR AND SO TECHNICALLY COUNTS": http://www.avclub.com/article/have-lethal-gremlins-french-connection-christmas-2-228523

According to OP, it's around 200 replies.
  17. Didactic Thumbs (Pedantry Corner)

Is it possible for a woman to mansplain to another woman? If not, what's a good replacement term?
  18. HOWL O'WEEN (Halloween)

Dredging this thread up another one more time, because I watched Return To Oz the other night and it struck me as a good Halloween movie for three reasons: a) it's scary as fuck, obviously, sunglasses) it's set in the run up to Halloween (1899), and c) Henry Selick worked on it and it has a character named Jack Pumpkinhead so it makes a good companion film to Nightmare Before Christmas.
