On the phone or face to face? Because the latter would be even better.

That's the usual way to get it, I believe.

So, is Warehouse worth giving another go in the current season (I think 3 is starting on SyFy over here)? I watched a couple of the very first eps and it was terrible.

Well, Signor and I enjoyed it a bit more than those guys. Also, I didn't have a problem with the aliens. You see them do high-tech stuff too, they're just nasty arseholes. Predator was a high-tech monster too, anyone got a problem with that film? Because if they do, I'll need to be borrowing the fighting trousers.

*whistles innocently* There is actually something DnB-related coming up (which Toblix should know about, being a member of the S5 forums), but apparently it's nothing to do with whatever Valve have mysteriously done...

I didn't say it does, I said this is the response of losers (at life) who suck (at a game). And I hope he's aware of that and playing on it...

I hope that's tongue-in-cheek, because it's pretty much the standard argument for 40-year-old losers who aren't very good at online games. "It's only because I'm having awesome sex the whole time with my hot girlfriend and because I've got a job." As if those are all things that automatically happen to you when you turn 20 and CANNOT BE DONE before that age. And this guy even adds in "and because I go extreme sporting every day." Surrre you do, pal.

Ahhh, confusing. I thought "Good Man Go War" was terrible.

Ooh, great, go on then!

Which past two-parter? I generally enjoyed Let's Kill Hitler, though it was one of those that threatens to buckle under the weight of the season arc and doesn't really stand alone (would have been nice to explore - this could have comfortably been a two-parter, I reckon). I also really enjoyed Cowboys And Aliens. Believable characters and story (in that it realised the high-concept in an unfussy, earthy way, at least until the bit ssd didn't like, which is a bit Chronicles Of Riddick), some ace action and effects, well directed and awesome aliens. The only niggle is that

As you may have noticed from my signature, I've been 'playing' HL2 (and Broken Sword) for an awfully long time now. I haven't actually played either of them for a while, due to lack of time and motivation. Specifically with HL2, I've got to a bit where Alyx takes one shot and dies every time. It's just after I meet her at the start of Nova Prospekt and she uses a terminal to send her dad's pod down. We get in a lift and kill a couple of guys just fine, but then we have to go up some stairs and she legs it ahead of me, takes one shot and dies. Did anyone else get this? I can't find a console cheat to make her invulnerable. Next time I load it up, I'll try the 'use' button on her, see if I can order her to stay where she is, but I don't think this'll work. It's completely breaking the game for me! EDIT: just in case anyone on the internet has the same problem, I went back to an earlier savegame, then changed the difficulty down to easy and continued to the problem point, and got through it. I'm damn sure I'd tried changing the difficulty within the latest savegame so maybe it wasn't registering. In fact, if I'd done that and then quicksaved again immediately, it probably would have sorted it. But when it quickloads, it reverts to the setting you had on when you quicksaved even if you've altered it since then. However, it may have been too late for the change to affect that encounter, so going back to an earlier save was the safest option.

brkl, are you saying that if you've seen the first season you've seen them all? Because that would be a strange opinion. Apart from that, everyone's been pretty much on target. There are a lot of fans who love the second season in particular, though (Queeg especially). For the first two seasons, you have to see past the terrible budget and some inexperienced actors to enjoy the characterisation and dialogue (especially in the second) and some cool sci-fi concepts even if they don't always blend with the comedy too well. Then from season 3 they reboot it a little with a brighter look and some new cast. Again, it starts off a bit wobbly budget- and effects-wise but the writing and the acting keep getting better from then on, and the whole thing is a lot tighter. My personal favourite season is 6, with 5 a close second. I recommend watching all of them, but stick to one ep a day or a week otherwise you'll get fatigue. And don't bother with 7 or 8 except out of curiosity - one of the two writers left and it suffers really badly.

I had a similar talent for spotting JM Straczynski scripted episodes of Babylon 5. I think my final score was 92/110.

Man, that mechanic is kind of similar to ideas we were playing with for the Dan and Ben episodes...

Hey, that's me! Oh well, seems like it's swinging back to them both meaning the same thing again. Language, eh?
