I can't tell without registering - is that an abandonware link?

Thought so, thanks!

What does the soundtrack edition entail? That would be the Peter McConnell score, not the (108?) licensed tracks, right?

Man, I can't believe so many people dislike Aliens. It's a great sequel - expanding on the universe, tying up loose ends, not just redoing what the first film did - full of great performances, dialogue, action, effects, tension, atmosphere and heart. I think it still looks great, due to the pre-CG effects, and the aliens' movements are totally convincing to me - Cameron uses a load of tricks to avoid them looking like men in suits, arguably moreso than the first film. I thought everyone felt this way, now I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!

Not just you!

Second of three sessions tonight, hope to see some of you there (and that you don't mind these bumps)!

Yes! I just finished watching my recording of that - I nearly choked with laughter at the 'Melanie Sykes, cheery oak tree' section.

That's hooked up to my tv for gaming, it's a bit of a faff for everyday use. I'll give that a shot, thanks. I'd Googled it previously, but I think I was looking for Windows issues...

This is on my DELL laptop, which has no LED. Perhaps some update I was unaware of took away the Caps Lock icon display, or I managed to disable it somehow. Obviously I can figure it out, but it's a pain when I'm entering passwords and having to open a Notepad doc just to check if CL is on (especially if it's a banking website with a three-attempt limit and I start to get OCD about whether I've hit Caps Lock in between checking on the doc and going back to the site).

Oh yeah, that bit was true.

That was Dan: http://www.hookshotinc.com/with-the-swindle-360-development-on-hold-size-five-speak-out-on-microsoft-and-indies/ That interview got taken out of context and exaggerated a fair bit by the press iirc.

You know this is all just fake preemptive evidence for if he ever gets arrested by the FBI for his copious amounts of piracy, right?

Sweet, I'll come back to this once I've read it. Thanks, Sarge!

Don't know if he was a leading contender, but he definitely auditioned for Anakin, and also young James T Kirk!

I'm probably going to go see Wreck-It Ralph, which this is playing in front of, so I'll leave it for then.

Well SOMETHING stopped telling me

Irishjohn and arccos are. Gregjohn moved away last year.

Windows suddenly stopped telling me whether I have Caps Lock on, for no reason, about a year ago

Which is apt, as it concerns I think that intro is a little over-rated - a montage of slow-mo clips to an on-the-nose song, which doesn't really set the scene very well for new viewers - but it's pretty much the best thing in the film. That thing about the trailer song choice is very clever, though, intentional or not! As with Sin City, I much preferred the trailer to the film.

It's easy to do it - So easy, in fact, that it's strange that Martin would claim otherwise...

I really liked the use of lens flare in ST, but I'm sure Abrams knows it wouldn't fit with the established SW feel. I'm more interested to see how he differentiates the two franchises now that, as Sno points out, St has been moved a lot closer to the feel of SW.
