Oh god, that's amazing, like the opposite of getting an insult in Chinese characters tattooed on you.

Thoughts on the "trans*" (with asterisk) term? Seems a little counter-intuitive to me. Is it generally helpful?

Although of course this could and would happen anywhere that you put lots of people in a space with lots of free booze, I guess the question as relating to the games industry is about the reaction to the reporting of it: if it happened at an event within a different industry would the same oppressive, aggressive reaction or atmosphere exist? If the answer is yes, then of course that doesn't mean that it's not shitty and that we shouldn't try to eradicate it. But I would say the answer is probably "not to the same extent" because of the nature of the games industry - an unusually large portion of the industry culture is massively public and online, and thereby pretty awful in general - and because of the start-up, temporary nature of many companies which means they do not have an established HR department and ingrained policies on this stuff. Sorry if this is a rambly, obvious Sexual Harassment 101 post. EDIT: thinking about this more. I realise that the things I (and many others, obv, I'm not trailblazing here) am saying about the games industry's reaction to this stuff can also be appllied to society in general. So I guess the problem is that the games industry is structured in such a way that even the modicum of counter-balance against misogynist shit that some industries have managed is not present. It's also more disappointing and troubling because it reflects badly on and bodes badly for the next generation, the attitudes of which the gaming industry's inner-workings are uniquely entwined with. I once naively hoped that the teenagers of today would be a lot less mindlessly hateful; perhaps if we alter the dialogue of this industry it will more significantly alter that of an entire generation than any other previously could... 2ND EDIT: To sum up, wherever else it goes, people like Subbes telling communities like us this stuff, and us saying "that is unacceptable" loudly and repeatedly will hopefully contribute to setting the tone for our successors.

I find that offensive, it should be Misterandry. Anyway, joking aside, that sucks Subbes, and I'm genuinely interested to know if you'll be kicking up a fuss (my gut reaction is to hope that you will).

I think Os means that there are a bunch of people who sound like Tom F, but whenever Tom F is on the 'cast the differences become apparent enough to pick him out.

Even more importantly: will you be writing (more) publicly about it? EDIT: waaaaitaminute, Merus, you big sexist, it might not have been a man!

Plus, The Mist was a big influence on Half Life!

I don't currently have the kind of job or private life that allows me to have livestreams on in the background!

How long until Day 3 is published? I haven't been able to work out what hour they're posted at... IT'S BEEN TOO LONG SINCE DAY 2

Cool, thanks Mike! Any Enterprise fans want to do a more traditional "10-20 best eps" list? -
Can I extend it to shot-for-shot recreations of the movie's musical numbers?

Frankly, the fact that no one acknowledged my amazing Pete joke makes me think that everyone in here is dead.

Sorry if this has been mentioned, but are those NPC barks intentionally ridiculous? "Who caused that noise?!" "When I find you, you'll wish I hadn't!" I still haven't played any of the Thiefs, but I remember people poking fun at getting called a taffer in Thi3f, so maybe it's an ongoing jokey hallmark?

What happens if Merus dies, which it seems he has?

Wow, these are all really interesting and gripping, again! I wonder if any other studios are going to try to do a similar thing at some point. I hope Derek doesn't crash and burn! It seems like he's got an idea for an adventure game but hadn't nailed any of the structure or puzzles down in his head before starting, which is fair enough due to the nature of AF but normally not how you'd make an adventure and has caused a massive bottleneck. I think the best thing for him to do would be to nail down "this is the way puzzles will work" then have everyone in the team do nothing else except brainstorm until they've got enough puzzles in a good order to then go and make as stylish a version of it as they can.

Perhaps your list should have just comprised the 20 best episodes of the final two seasons..! I'm going to watch your fave Trek episode ever and a couple of others, but unless there's a huge step up in quality from season 5 to season 6, I think I'm best off manning the escape-pod. -
And now, a Goofy joke: Oh, for Pete's sake, this is getting ridiculous!

I'm giving up on DS9. Perhaps it's because I'm not watching the whole thing, but I'm at season 5 and even the cherry-picked episodes are nothing special. I'm enjoying Voyager (and especially Robert Picardo) enough to keep going with that. So I ended on a high note with the excellent "Trials And Tribble-ations" (it's a shame that Tribbles didn't become more of a tradiition - TOS, TAS and DS9 got them, would have been nice for TNG, Voyager and Enterprise to get them too) and am about to watch First Contact. Then I'll continue through Voyager, and slot in the few episodes of DS9 on the list that Gormongous annotated for special attention (best Klingon ep evar etc), then perhaps watch the best ten eps of Enterprise if I can wangle a list from someone here or failing that online. -
I'm happy to do it in British or (probably not very good) fake-American! EDIT: I could also do it in Goofy's voice.

Is there an option to play Metro with Russian voices but English subtitles?
