Nintendo UK (and probably EU later on?) are releasing a pretty cool package for the holidays: the Wii U premium with Mario 3D World, NSMBWiiU2 and Luigi DLC, plus a ridiculous Mario hat, for the appealing price of 299 the queen's pounds sterling. I'm of half a mind to purchase it when it hits Hollandia, half a mind just to wait two years for Nintendo to update the hell out of this thing, get a good (N)interface, fix the weird Wii compatibility system (you have to boot into the old Wii environment - what the hell?), and release a bunch of insane color variations and decals.

Freak your kid out by making his first adventure I Have No Mouth, at the tender age of three.

I do hope so, fervently! It's true that the first three games in the series were for GBA, but the West didn't see them until their rerelease on DS. For all intents and purposes, it belongs to that generation for us. Ucantalas; if you played T&T, you've arguably played the best game in the series... though they're all great. Luke Atmey!

No, you can't. You can't...

Alright, I bought this in the Steam sale and started playing it. I'm a little while in, but all I want to say here is that Rogue Legacy is the evilest game ever. They won't allow you to stop, and they impose it by making you choose and start your next hero before you can cash in your hard earned gold from the previous run. It's an insidious trick to never allow the player a nice, closed moment to stop playing. Dastardly!

Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeve Perry. Steve Perry.

So far I fell victim to the bargains of Rogue Legacy and Gone Home. Seriously, Gone Home was 5 (five) Contintental Shekels.

Great looking screenshots! And surprising it's for iOS and Android - I'd have immediately believed this was for PC and current consoles.

I recall the ice level from LttP, which was pretty great. Small floors and lots of 'em. Those Milk Bar renditions have really warmed me up to this game, by the way. Funny how a good soundtrack will do that.

I just watched Primer. What the hell was that? Intruiging and baffling. I feel I want to watch this again in a year or so, perhaps with someone to talk about it afterwards.

I would be remiss not to mention the best thing gaming has spawned over the last decade, in total, regardless of system, neutral of affiliation, and that is the Ace Attorney series. It had simply the largest impact on me. I have two separate, elaborate cosplays from that series, I took part in a Phoenix Wright play (as Mr. Godot), and since 2005 I've played six games in the series and written about as many articles on it for various print magazines (the latest of which, the review of Dual Destinies, will feature in AniWay, out in about a month in the Netherlands).

The DS was a madhouse of great games. It's pretty nuts. I mean «fuckin bonkers». I can vouch for Ghost Trick, what an amazing experience. On a personal note, I loved a few games that may actually not be that great, but I just really took to them. Orcs and Elves stands out as a fun dungeon crawler. Another Code is a good adventure. Tingle's Rosy Rupee Land if you're a freak.

So THAT's what was happening on the other side of the line! Even crazier than I imagined. It was still a freakshow

I think my love for the psychotic experiment that is Mario Sunshine is well-known around these parts.

You're wrong, Tabacco, the best minifig is Sam Sinister.

Wasn't that the game where you are generated as a random person in the world, and you'd simply have to deal with whatever situation you were in? That sounded amazing.

Oh man oh man, it's gonna be tight like a tiger. I'm installing the game ever so slowly right now, and if what dibs says is true and I have a lot of configuring to do, I don't know if I'll make 9 o'clock. How is the communication by the way, Skype?
-
I have some rather distressing news. Fortune swayed in my favor to hand me a shining copy of GTA4 on steam. I am installing it now. There is a likelihood I'll be joining whatever hootenanny you have going on tonight. I warn you: I am a complete amateur and will ruin everything.

UUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!! I'm sorry, I am just really distressed by the horrible writing in that clip. Also voice acting. Jesus. Talk about a series of well-written books meeting Video Game Fantasy Writing.

Teg, I feel you need an additional set of joints under the feet to make the legs really stable. Now the feet rest awkwardly on a flat surface, a simple ball-joint would do. Last month I bought some pretty big boxes again. Just yesterday Lego had a good couple of deals and I bought the modular building sets of the Pet Shop and the Town Hall. Earlier I got two Kingdoms Joust sets and Arkham Asylum. I just really, really love building sets. It's much rarer that I feel the need to experiment and build my own. Lego is diverse enough to appease all sorts of fans!

Idle Explorers (Spelunky, um, thumbs)

So, any hot tips to get rid of shopkeepers? I finally managed to flay one with a machete, but that was the only time I managed to kill one. I need a shotgun for the tunnel man, so... yeah, it's an amazing quest. -
Well, that's just really neat. I gotta say I find Taylor Davis a little more palatable than Lindsey Stirling, on account of being less all over the place with dancing and more toned down and relaxed. Also, an amazing cosplay, that always works.

Also, only one voice actor is needed for the whole production and that's Charles Dance. He can narrate the whole thing and act his own part. It's gonna be a story book. Make this happen.

Yes on both accounts. Last Window wasn't nearly as good as Hotel Dusk though. I loved Another Code, but the Wii sequel was also rather limited in appeal. They'll remain this weird footname in adventure gaming history, with two great titles, two lesser ones, and now they're gone.
