Just saw The World's End last night. I am absolutely in love with it. For me it's almost up there with Shaun of the Dead. It gets rockier towards the end (but so did Shaun), but apparently (from reading reviews) I'm the only one who thought the epilogue was great and hilarious. Edgar Wright knocks it out of the park visually and it was funny through-out. The cast is great. I'm really looking forward to re-watching it soon to catch all the little gags. It also helped that the audience seemed to consist only of fans of the trio's work. It premiered only last week here in Denmark, with no advertisement at all, so only die-hard fans showed up for the screening, seemingly. So all of the little cameos and callbacks got huge laughs. Best comedy I've seen this year.

Huuuuge to that screenshot. Also, yes. Super Citizen Kane is obviously the name for your game I_Smell.

Wait, that graph.. The Wii U sold more in the first month than the 360 and the PS3?
-
Oh. My. God. I can't unsee it!
-
Everything has been redrawn at a slightly higher resolution and the character sprites have been made larger (to make them viewable on an iPhone)
-
I have to buy a Wii U now. It's over. Nintendo has won.
-
That's quite the difference! Looks good, might be what finally pushes me to play that thing.

Hah, yeah. Basically, Double Fine didn't PR spin this out their ass like Charles Cecil is doing now, and people are buying his "two full games!" bullshit. "We just made so much game, it was hard to contain in just one package!" Sorry for being irrationally annoyed by all of this. I don't care about Broken Sword (because I can't get past the visuals) but it just feels like the press collectively decided that being open about development was a shit idea and decided to punish Double Fine for it..
-
There is some lighting stuff (volumetric light rays in the jungle scene) and some very cool-looking particle effects (the tower-fall off the cliff has some very neat smoke-effect going on) but otherwise the next-gen stuff looks very similar.
-
Yeah, I guess.. But some articles about the Broken Sword thing still mention Double Fine's failure to do the same. Which makes no sense to me, at all. And don't get me wrong, I don't think what Revolution are doing is a negative thing at all. It just seems like everyone thinks Double Fine are now making a lesser game because they were open about how they planned ahead to not run out of money.. Ugh.. sorry about this. Just annoys me when I hear misinformation about how DF ran out of money, when they obviously didn't..

I'm baffled by the positive reactions (or at least baffled at the difference of reaction, compared to reaction to Double Fine's decision) to the recent news that Broken Sword 5 is coming out in two parts. They're effectively doing exactly the same as Double Fine, except they're going to charge people for both parts separately (if you aren't a backer.) Yet Double Fine catches huge amounts of flak for it (even still, at lot of articles about BS5 mention DF's decision in passing) but everyone goes "Ah, well.. We're just getting two big games instead of one, blah blah.." when hearing the BS5 news. Bleh!

That's because the image you see in the video is from the CastAR mounted on the camera. So you're seeing the projected image from the POV of the camera, while the two kids are seeing it from each of theirs.

Yeah! They really nail the stop-motion vibe and the lighting and shading is perfect at making it look like they're actually the right Lego size. I'm not a huge fan of the humour in the trailers, but some of the moments are good.

Ben, don't you receive the update emails from the kickstarter? The announcement video was in the last one. Also, hope you enjoy watching the relevant series. It's weird, but wonderful.
-
The announcement is great and the episode is amazing! Everything is coming together so nicely, it feels. Really excited to play this.

This is so ridiculous. If the problem is sexting then why didn't they just turn off the photo sharing functionality?

A Dedicated Thread For Talking About Star Trek Episodes
BigJKO replied to BigJKO's topic in Movies & Television
Sweet! Thanks, SecretAsianMan. Watched 'Code of Honor' last night. It's not that the plot is too weird.. It is, but I can accept that. Everyone also acts weird. Especially Lieutenant Yar. Christ, it's like she's eager to jump off the stage and run away from it all, the way she shakes and almost tipped over in one scene. And some exchanges just.. either make no sense or are very disturbing. Like when Yar is asked at the end of the episode whether she would like to be Lutan's wife, and she goes "No.. ", gives him the elevator look and then says "that would be.. complicated." It's also hilarious how nonchalant everyone is when something terrible happens. It's probably mostly the editing, because it always happens during beam-up scenes where it's presumably shot in two takes. But when Zorn in the first episode vanishes, and Lutan grabs Yar in this one, Riker and Picard look so calm, then suddenly turn around and yell "Red Alert!". It's clumsy and hilarious. It got a nice, little laugh from me when Picard was ranting and interrupted himself with "Forgive me, this is becoming a speech." I love Picard. -
A Dedicated Thread For Talking About Star Trek Episodes

I'm going to give Season 1 a chance, then. See how it goes. I still kind of like it, especially Picard's eccentric traits like his awkwardness with children and Patrick Stewart acts the hell out of what he's given. -
A Dedicated Thread For Talking About Star Trek Episodes

He's called Q Who?! -
Sure, but a dedicated thread for talking about Star Trek episodes could still be good for when you have anything to say about your leisure TOS watching.
-
Should I just hop straight to the third season, then? Will I be confused?
-
Do that thread, Ben! Also... what is TAS?
-
It caught me completely off guard.. I knew there'd be silly episodes in between, but starting off on two of 'em? Wasn't expecting that after having watched the old movies (Wrath of Khan and the one with Picard and the Borg) and Deep Space Nine and Voyager ages ago.

Just started watching Star Trek: The Next Generation. It starts off a very weird note with (the?) Q and his trial of humans and Space Jellyfish. Then I watched the next episode.. and they get drunk.. I'm sorry.. infected, everyone gets horny and Data has sexy time with Yor... I hope it gets a tiny bit more.. serious as I continue?
