  1. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Haha that's my feeling too, but we keep coming back so it must be good. However one thing that bothers me about the game is how light it is on story and cutscenes. I never thought I'd say that about Metal Gear. The gameplay to cutscene ratio almost feels like an American RPG. I've played for 30 hours and really not much has happened, it's like I am playing a Bethesda game. Really at 30 hours in a Metal Gear game you shouldn't be asking where the story is, you should be finishing your second run through.
  2. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Yeah. My feeling is that Quiet in the cell is like any other 'time progression' aspect like building platforms for Motherbase. Though the timer for quiet isn't shown. Could be attached to some other stats too, who knows?
  3. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Yeah I used the supply drop trick too, got the idea from usgamer.net I was able to get Quiet along with cargo+2 Fulton at the same time, before the difficult mission, so I should be all set. Also was able to access the medical platform room after that as well.
  4. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Sweet thanks! Also, as of right now at 23 hrs in, that door on the medical platform is marked red and is inaccessible to me, just fyi. (Maybe iot has to be developed to a certain level before it unlocks?)
  5. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

I've been reading that she is a good way to finish that mission so you must be able to get her beforehand. I don't have the vehicle recovery fulton either-- have to find an expert in a mission to develop it. That's another thing that can't find...need more intel.
  6. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

I'm not sure how to get quiet out of the brig, can anyone help me out? I am just jamming through side ops because I got to a very difficult story mission and want her as a buddy... Do I have to go back and play through a mission a certain way or do I just keep doing side ops? So far played it for about 25 hours and it's the best, gameplay wise, metal gear has always been (although I do like the super stripped down sneaking of MGS1 a lot still). But surprisingly/disappointingly light on story. It has a Peacewalker vibe but without the cool cutscenes.
  7. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

A really interesting trailer...now I want to know what's going on...
  8. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

    Agree on all points.
  9. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

I think it took me 8 hours the first time.
  10. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

If you can't even bother finishing the first MGS (you're probably half way through at 3 hours) then probably the series is not for you. If you play the first part of MGS2 and can't 'feel the magic', its not for you. The sexualized hyper-violence is off putting, I think mgs4 was the worst offender so far.
  11. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

If David Hayter isn't somehow surprise revealed halfway through the game it will be a let down.
  12. The Last Guardian

    Aye.
  13. The Last Guardian

Yeah that animation is very well done-- ueda is one of the few visual artists who leads expensive game projects, they are really nuanced and heartfelt productions.
  14. The Last Guardian

Really it looked exactly like the PS3 version, the move to PS4 was probably purely for marketing purposes. But yeah that was real gameplay and I think it could be really good.
  15. E3 2015

At this rate Shenmue will have 750 million dollars of funding before the end of the campaign...Ryo's face looks totally weird.
  16. The Last Guardian

    It's an environmental puzzler.
  17. E3 2015

The kickstarter is already at $500k after a few minutes, so I guess it will do just fine. I will probably play it even though I really didn't like number 2 at all. Hmm maybe I'll pick it up in a steam sale.
  18. E3 2015

I think Shenmue has already crashed kickstarter, I can't get to the page. Didn't the first game cost like 100 million dollars? Lol
  19. The Last Guardian

Haha it lives. But still PS4 =( don't think I'll be buying one for a long long time.
  20. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

If Kojima can show some restraint (like in Peacewalker) this could be really good, maybe the best of the series...it certainly looks that way so far. Also I am psyched about the PC co-release, ground zeroes looked great on PC.
  21. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

Picked up some more obscure Japanese games. KOF XIII and Killer is Dead-- mostly for the stylized graphics...though I did like Killer 7 so maybe I'll actually play through KiD.
  22. Recently completed video games

Woah, I assumed no one actually solved that puzzle themselves.
  23. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

Broken Age...I backed at the big box tier and was cautiously optimistic during development, but it's not really for me. Even at the sentimental level, the look and feel of the game is off-putting. Maybe I will get around to act 2 eventually but after firing it up and poking around a little bit I realize I am just not really into it.
  24. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

I just pressed 'continue' at the main menu and it placed me at the start of act 2. If that wasn't an option then maybe you have to play it through to the credits again.
