I love this series and the ending was maybe my favorite telltale ending, or maybe tied with Sam & Max season 3 (which I am probably biased towards since it was the first ending I worked on).

Sounds good.

Idle Thumbs 252: Jonathan Bro This week we take a look at harbingers of our dark future that are not only available today, but can be controlled with an Xbox 360 controller. We dive into the final release of SUPERHOT and become sweat-soaked, tool-assisted killbots for reasons too convoluted to bother with, and chase that down with videos of a new silent robotic BigDog, and its encounter with a very agitated normal small dog. Games Discussed: SUPERHOT, Transistor, Braid, Doug Dug, NBA 2K16, Spaceteam (Card Game) Listen on the Episode Page Listen on Soundcloud Listen in iTunes

"I heard Jon Bro works just down the street by the Swole Foods" - Ben Burbank, Campo Santo programmer. (Jon Blow does also work just down the street from us by the Whole Foods, which doesn't make anything Ben said okay.)

I find the written rules of monopoly a lot better than people's crazy house rules. "You have to buy the property if you touch it and can afford it" helps so much, but so many people don't play that rule.
-
This is also the worst. I've done this before when hosting a game and felt like such an ass. "Why wasn't this sample round fun? Oh, I ruined it and missed a rule." :/ It sucks.

Idle Weekend February 26, 2016: Hack the Planet The Weekenders are joined by cyberpunk expert and friend of the show Austin Walker of Giant Bomb to talk about our dreams of the 90s. SUPERHOT has us in a 90s cyberpunk frame of mind, so we take a jog down the information superhighway paved by Hackers, The Net, and Strange Days. It's a transhumanist treat! Discussed: SUPERHOT, Hackers, The Net, Strange Days, Else Heart.Break(), Californium, Steve Jobs, The Witch Listen on the Episode Page Listen on Soundcloud Listen in iTunes

The drinks are a lot better at Smuggler's Cove* but that new place does have a lot of space compared to Smuggler's, at least on weeknights. On weekend nights it's already standing room only. * which is sort of an unfair comparison since the drinks in smugglers cove might be the best tiki drinks you can get anywhere? Pagan Idol's are still good and people would have a good time there.

Welcome to the forums! While Idle Thumbs may sometimes seem cynical or inside at a glance, we try to come from a place of constructive optimism and hope to foster long form, in depth discussion between our community members. I think you'll really like it here.

Idle Thumbs 250: A Palpable Dream This week we dream of success in the face of almost certain failure. Of reaching out and, just for a second, really feeling like you've achieved something. A soldier in XCOM 2 lasts long enough to top the squad leaderboard, long enough to earn a permanent seat on the transport ship, long enough that we recognize her trademark smirk, but no longer. In NBA 2K16, a five foot eleven kid gets drafted out of high school, makes his family proud, and even plays in a few games, before his teammates conspire against him and sink his career. A video game podcast produces 250 episodes over eight years. Games Discussed: XCOM 2, NBA 2K16, hard games Listen on the Episode Page Listen on Soundcloud Listen in iTunes

sorry, I merged the right thread into the wrong one

Guys after a really stressful period I'm feeling pretty good about life so I figured I'd make a thread about things that have gone right for you in life lately. 1) I just shipped a video game and people seem to like it. 2) A hat that I really liked and thought I had lost was returned to me eight months later.

Idle Thumbs 249: Half-Take Special Today's the day. Today you can play all those games you've been eyeing but didn't feel you had the time. Unfortunately you only have a couple spare hours, and those games are XCOM 2, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and the goddamn Witness. This week we scratch the surface of some great games, and share our impressions with you. Welcome to the half-take special. Games Discussed: Rise of the Tomb Raider, The Goddamned Witness, XCOM 2 Listen on the Episode Page Listen on Soundcloud Listen in iTunes

Idle Thumbs 241: Suddenly the King of France Your favorite creators are coming back, they've brought your favorite games, and to play them all you have to step into this skintight vibrating body suit. Plus, Nick returns to Crusader Kings 2 with disastrous (if unsurprising) results, and we stare straight into the surreal heart of the Frog Fractions 2 ARG. Games Discussed: Rez Infinite, System Shock 3, Crusader Kings 2, Frog Fractions 2, Don't Starve Together Listen on the Episode Page Listen on Soundcloud Listen in iTunes

Idle Thumbs 248: The Bear's Black Heart

Oh man that's exactly the scene I was referencing when alluding to "screaming Coen bros characters." Did extra editing happen that I haven't heard? -
Idle Thumbs 247: The Clone Progenitors
Jake replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
I crumbled and started playing on my PC. It's fine! I wish I could get slightly better framerate, and could turn things up more, but I also honestly don't really notice with this game. Also I like The Witness a ton. -
Once you've loudly said "why did that person say baboo?" and kept walking all the way through the door of the building, it is too late. You have become That Person.
-
Yeah holy shit, sorry about that. I walked for a few seconds and then said, "... why did that guy just say Baboo?" and then Chris actually stopped and figured it out and talked to Jov. I was too far gone, though!

Idle Thumbs 246: Mesmerized, Process, and Anxiety
Jake posted a topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Sorry this is late! Idle Thumbs 246: Mesmerized, Process, and Anxiety This episode contains three documented favorite words of Nick Breckon, age 3. Mesmerized: Jake tries a Vive for the first time and briefly forgets his friends, loved ones, and the world around him. Process: Chris spends more time with Just Cause 3 and his feelings become increasingly mixed. Anxiety: As Valve opens the Half-Life and Portal universes up to the community to make and sell expansions, we fret over the future of some of our favorite games. Plus we play Oxenfree, get excited for The Witness, and fall into the surrealistic adventure that is Nick's childhood. Games Discussed: Just Cause 3, Oxenfree, The Witness, Half-Life 2, Portal 2, HTC Vive, Myst, Super Mario Maker, Blast Corps Listen on the Episode Page Listen on Soundcloud Listen in iTunes
