    Thanks! And yeah atte, I'm getting a good bit of traffic from that warpdoor mention. Anyway I just uploaded v1.1. Implemented root's final texture for the car, and made improvements to the camera control when using M+KB.
  2. Thanks for the kind words about In Search of Paradise, Jake. Looking forward to the stream! Also I suggest you download the latest build before streaming it. I just uploaded a new one with improved car textures and better camera control when using the mouse. (gamepad is still the recommended control method tho) Heck, probably a good idea to check for updates on all the jam games before the stream, I know a lot of people are still working on them and putting out new versions.

    I played the first few missions on a friend's Vita last summer. I think the motion controls aiming was a bit more natural on the Vita, than with a DS4 gamepad, so I ended up mostly just aiming with the right stick. Other than that it's pretty much the same tho.

    Highscore: 469 Took me a few rounds of frenetic random clicking before I figured out how to actually play it. Initially I though Add referred to the ads they play in the show* and I wondered why it was all ads and no content. Then after that for a few rounds I thought I was just supposed to add as much on the positive value as I could, before I finally realized I'm supposed to match the number on the screen. But yeah, once I'd figured out how to play it I really liked this! And being able to play back the episode afterwards is a nice touch. *gimme a break I'm not a native English speaker edit: 616!

    Dude, you gotta keep working on this! I need MORE LEVELS! MORE RATS! To be perfectly sincere, I would pay somewhere in the vicinity of 5-8 of my hard earned euros if you released a 30 level version of this. It plays and looks great. Please don't leave it at a prototype.

    Hmm, I seem to be stuck. I've found Mario's Key, not sure where I found it but it's in my inventory. Anyway, when I equip it and click on the door it just plays the same handle-sound as it plays when I have anything else equipped and click on it. I can't get out of the room!
  11. Very slick and pleasant to play. Super hard tho. I died like 10 times before getting past the first cannonball guy, and got stuck on the last room, thinking it was simply unfinished until I came back here and read Xeneth's spoiler. Yeah, short but sweet!
  12. Welp, not gonna beat brendon's highscore, but I got 28987 in the Time Attack. Awesome game. Love the slidey handbrake turns and the cinematic slow-mo cam on the jumps. I played it with a Dualshock 4 btw, still worked fine, tho the buttons were in different places than on a 360.

    root had prepared the fuel pumps and station bay earlier in the week, so I put together the shack myself in blender this morning, then slapped on some textures from cgtextures.com. Good enough for v1.0!

    Alrightey, final day of the jam! Let's get jammin' and crammin'! I had some people do last-minute beta testing, and based on that I've made the opening areas of the game a bit easier to navigate, and increased the fuel economy of the car. Also gonna need to make a few other, minor final adjustments. Unfortunately, unforseen events have kept root from finishing the gas station model and car texture. So the v1.0 release, as well as the initial website graphics and trailer will look a bit rougher than than they should. Will update all that later in the week. I'll be uploading the game and launching the website tonight. About 8-12 hours from now. Also, my game got mentioned in the latest ep of Idle Thumbs! Woop woop!

  20. Recently completed video games

    Gravity Rush Remastered on PS4. Loved it! Very original setting and unique gameplay. If I'm being honest the gameplay isn't perhaps quite up on the same level as, for instance the later Infamous and Batman games, in terms of how satisfying they feel, but they're unique and unlike anything else enough that I'd have no hesitation about recommending this title to anyone in the market for a cool superhero game.     Been working intensely this past week, and I took a day off work today so I could get this finished in time. As far as gameplay and story goes, In Search Of Paradise is now COMPLETE! As in, it has a beginning, middle, and end. There are still a few things that need to be done before it's complete-complete tho. Still to do: -fix a few bugs with the menus -add all the sounds. -implement final models. -start menu/screen -polish, nicer fonts in menus. -itch.io page and trailer

    Things added and crossed off the to-do list, so far. Recent additions are improving engine sound, with gear changes and everything. Gamepad controls fully integrated everywhere. Camera control with the right stick. Rest-option at gas station. Yesterday, on a whim, I added a first person on-foot mode. And today I fixed everything the addition of the on-foot mode broke. Still not sure I got it all, but I'm glad to have this addition. Now, when you car runs out of fuel, you can actually get out and walk to the next gas station and ask to have your car towed there!

    Thanks, folks! @root, no problem. I probably have enough on my plate without the interior cam anyway. And don't worry about the cacti textures so much, I think they look alright as they are. Of course I'll implement them tho if you really have your heart set on making them. @Akidu, good stuff! There's more engine sounds in here than I'll ever need! If you've got the time and the inclination, I could use some other sounds as well. I'll send a list! Do you guys want your full names in the credits btw? Or forum names, or twitter handles? Let me know.

    With 1 week of the Jam down, and a little over a week to go, this is where I'm at! The gameplay systems are mostly done. Latest additions include menus, savepoints, and gamepad controls(except they don't work in menus yet). Still to go is creation of most of the gameworld, perhaps some quests, and the ending. Stretch goals: -car upgrades. -interior cam. (root, would you be up for modelling the interior?) -VR!?
