  1. Pathfinder: The Low Moon Guild

It's alright it happens. This stuff is hard to do and schedule. Besides any news that let's me delete Skype can't be all bad.
  2. Destiny

OMG A NEW SOCIAL SPACE?!?!?!?!?! ;P Still this will almost certainly get me back into the game. Now I just need to buy a new DS4 to replace the one I wore out last time a Destiny expansion came out.
  3. XCOM 2

If that means I get controller support on PC I'm all for it. I'm glad people who havn't shelled out for the the surprisingly high PC requirements for this game will get to play it. Even if I still haven't gone back to it after getting almost all the way through and just getting so bored I didn't finish it.
  4. Persona 5 - 2015 the year of the PS3 / Persona Q - 3DS

I found the writing in it super bland and a massive step down from the prior games to be honest. The other Persona games are hardly Shakespeare mind but Q is still a step down. The new lady they add in that game is maybe one of the most shallow characters I have ever seen. It has its flaws on the gamplay front as well but it's a great intro to that kind of dungeon crawling and it's a solid buy at that price.
  5. The Idle Book Club 16: Mr. Fox

I almost read this a few years ago but I started reading the earthsea books instead. But now that I've slowly been reading through the numerous Reynard stories that now would be a good time to give this a go. EDIT: For some reason I thought this was the book to read for this month not the newest episode to come out. Whatever I'll still pick it up before listening. Though at $12.99 for the kindle version I might hit up a used bookstore.
  6. Pathfinder: The Low Moon Guild

    I should be.
  7. Damn it, but computers have become really complicated

Even as someone who is looking to do 4K I'll likely just get a 1070 and look at getting a second one down the road. This kind of jump in power indicates to me that we are about to see a huge jump in how demanding games are so I suspect these cards are not going to last as long in terms of relevance compared to older cards. I suspect it'll be at least two years before things stabilizes enough for a top of the line card to stay that way for more then a year. Obviously every card is outdated a year after it comes out but I suspect that will be extra true for these cards.
  8. Damn it, but computers have become really complicated

Okay I've read some reviews for the new Nividia cards and here is my opinion on which one you should buy for a few different use cases: 1: Do you want to spend $200 on 25% better performance in a video card? No? Then buy the 1070 not the 1080. 2: Do you want to run games at 4K? See above. When you are done looking at the above, go into all of your games and turn off anti aliasing. From all the reviews I've seen this will get you 50 FPS in most games at 4K and odds are you can barely tell the difference. Even if you demand 60+ with anti aliasing at 4K the 1080 can't quite pull that off so you're likely better off getting two 1070's in SLI. Jury is still out on SLI with Pascal though so hold off for a bit if that's what looking for. 3: What about AMD? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I have no idea what AMD is up to but from what I know AMD has mostly been focused on budget leaning cards so I'm not sure what they have to offer here. Others may know more on this. 4: Should I even be looking to upgrade my card to begin with? depends, if you're fine playing games at around 30 FPS at 1080 at medium settings any mid tier card from the last two years should be fine for a year or two at least, so in that case no. If you want something more then that then as long as you have the budget go for it. 5: Do you want to run games at 8K? You have enough money to build your damn mansion out of Titan X's why are you reading this? 6: Do you have some other specific use case I haven't covered? You likely know more about what you need then I do so I'll leave you to figure out what to pick up. This are my off the cuff thoughts on the new Nividia cards. 9. Pathfinder: The Low Moon Guild

Awesome! Also is there any chance we can get an link to the roll 20 session ahead of time so we can set up our character sheets in advanced?
  10. Pathfinder: The Low Moon Guild

Looks like WOTC put out all the extra races they made for their Temple Of Elemental Evil as a free PDF along with some free spells if anyone is interested: http://media.wizards.com/2015/downloads/dnd/EE_PlayersCompanion.pdf And here's a WIP character sheet: All of the fluff is still WIP but assuming point buy and custom background it should all be fine by the rules.
  11. Pathfinder: The Low Moon Guild

Assuming I'm proficient in thieves tools I can handle traps though having some redundancy wouldn't hurt. Especially if you use our expertise on it but you certainly don't have to. I would also lean a bit towards assassin as the thieves specialty doesn't seem super great, but there may well be uses for it I'm not seeing. The real trick will be deciding how you want to split your levels between Bard and Rogue. I would start as Rogue as you get four skills to be proficient in and the get another one from multiclassing into Bard for seven skills total counting background skills.
  12. Pathfinder: The Low Moon Guild

I was thinking I would do a very literal cat burglar and be proficient in Insight, Deception, investigation, some skill off the druid list, and thieves tools. Then when I wildshape i would gain the skill proficiencies of the animal I shape shift into, many of which have stealth and perception. I won't be able to wildshape until level two but I see no reason to let reality get in the way of my character concept. If that's a bit too much overlap we can work something out.
  13. Pathfinder: The Low Moon Guild

Fair enough. If I ever get my drivers license like I should have by now I might run it myself on Sundays. Back to D&D, how do we feel about backgrounds? I would prefer to just pick and chose whatever so long as it's it's in line with the custom background rules in the PHB. So two skill proficiencies, and two tools/languages, and then either just pick features and bonds and the like from other backgrounds or make our own. Edit: And here's what appears to be a pretty solid character sheet builder that exports to PDF if that sounds helpful: http://www.orcpub.com/dungeons-and-dragons/5th-edition/character/generator Oh and are we using point buy or roll? I lean towards point buy.
  14. Pathfinder: The Low Moon Guild

So I'm sure everyone is set on 5E and I would really to play some more of it myself, but I'll just toss this out here; Dungeon World is a really great, really easy to learn system, that's stripped back in a way that makes it very easy to just play and not worry about the system. It also has a wiki with most of the content over here: http://www.dungeonworldsrd.com/ I am more then happy to play 5E but if we want a game stripped down to the bare-essentials that one is top notch. Also it's fun game to just read about. This post was brought to you by Friends At The Table. A really great tabletop podcast.
  15. Pathfinder: The Low Moon Guild

You could do a pretty good Pally/Bard build.
  16. Pathfinder: The Low Moon Guild

I was leaning towards a monk/druid multiclass so go for it.
  17. Pathfinder: The Low Moon Guild

I cn do Bard, Warlock, Druid, Paladin, or a variation on Rogue, so I'll work out what class I'll play once everyone else has some idea of what they want to do. Though I will be playing something that does melee and and some magic as well so I won't a pure caster or Rogue.
  18. Pathfinder: The Low Moon Guild

As long as you record the session I can just watch it to see what everyone else is doing and set myself up. So I'm fine if you all want to do it later in the day.
  19. Pathfinder: The Low Moon Guild

I'm in mountain time so I'm two hours behind eastern. I could do an hour or two before noon if I have to. But noon is ideal.
  20. Pathfinder: The Low Moon Guild

Midday tomorrow or next weekend. But I can also set up my own character if need be. I could also do noon to 4PM weekdays as a one time thing if that works for anyone else.
  21. Pathfinder: The Low Moon Guild

I'd be down with that. I actually like Pathfinder just fine, but 5E is certainly easier to run. And I'm down to do character creation stuff today instead of playing. Oh and if we do just want to play Pathfinder tonight I'll just stick with old Reynard. I wasn't planning to switch this week anyways.
  22. Pathfinder: The Low Moon Guild

Hey would anyone mind if I started a new character? Now that I have a better grasp on the system and know what's out there it would be kinda nice to start fresh as an investigator. Since we aren't that far in I hope it's probably not too much trouble. And I'm fine with starting over at level 1. Now that the XP rates are faster I don't feel like it'll take too long to catch back up.
  23. Pokemon Moon (beautiful) and Sun (more beautiful)

...Eh. Not really. The EV stuff was the only major thing gameplay-wise from Black/White to X/Y. That and the least creepy petting minigame on the 3DS. Still a bit creepy what with the Jinx's and all that.
  24. Pokemon Moon (beautiful) and Sun (more beautiful)

Actually in X/Y (touch the magic) they give you a way to reset the EVs of any pokemon and I want to say you no longer need to level up a pokemon for EVs to take effect.
  25. Pathfinder: The Low Moon Guild

I'm all for just doing a level per dungeon-ish system and slowing it down when it feels appropriate. It also encourages less murder and more talking things over. Although I think with been getting XP regardless of how we finish an encounter so that's less of a big deal here.
