  1. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

I got my replacement copy of The Witcher 3! The first disc came loose in the case and is scratched to hell! And I haven't even returned the first one (I have 30 days to do so and haven't had a chance)!
  2. Recently completed video games

I beat DOOM (2016)! It's pretty good. I didn't love it. I still think Destiny (2014) is a much better shooter and here is where I would say something about how they're very different but I don't know that they are? DOOM (2016) sorta just felt like Destiny (2014) sped up %100 with less interesting abilities but more interesting maps. DOOM (2016) is pretty dang good but I would rate it as more of a 4 out of 5 the an OMG WHY ISN'T EVERY SHOOTER LIKE THIS?!?! Also it could be about 2 hours shorter.
  3. Pen and Paper and Roll20.net Games

I could play in a CST game on the weekends but I don't have time to work out DMing right now. Also this might be diving off the deep end a bit but there's a add on for Dungeon World that re does the class system and is really cool. It's a little pricey but it's 500+ pages and if you like reading RPG books it's a lot of fun: http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/137634/Class-Warfare
  4. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

I was just joking about how there is no character creation and how Garret Of Rivertown feels rather generic in the first 20 minutes.
  5. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

So I got the discs to install somehow ( I felt like I was trying to get Heroes 3 to work in the 90's) and I went through the lengthy character creation process to make my character who I called Gritty S McDarkness. The S stands for Shadows to express his inner turmoil. And then I turned it off because it's late and I need to sleep.
  6. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

Good news I got the game!: Amazon says my new copy will be here Thursday. In thoey I could use the GOG download code that came with the game but it will take longer to download then it will for the new copy to show up and that feels like it's at best skirting some legal territory.
  7. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - Return of Grumpy Chiselarms

So I will say to this games credit that there does appear to have some more cogent thoughts on the subject matter it tackles then I expected to: https://twitter.com/tauriqmoosa/status/769674631422836736 I'm not sure it counters the sheer stupidity of the rest of it but credit where it's due.
  8. Damn it, but computers have become really complicated

Plan old disk based hard drives can be plenty noisy. Your best bet is to get an SSD if you can and make the old drive more of a bulk storage drive. That or just get a new, quieter standard drive.
  9. Pen and Paper and Roll20.net Games

For those interested in running D&D 5th edition Gamers With Jobs has a set up well suited for lighter one off games set in a town called Perdita. You can find details over here: https://www.gamerswithjobs.com/node/1296076 it's great way to dip your toes into DMing without committing to running a full years long campaign and they could really use some more DMs as that's the main thing holding the it back.
  10. Pen and Paper and Roll20.net Games

I would be down for The Sprawl. I think I would still prefer Dungeon World bit it would give me an excuse to buy the PDF for The Sprawl which I've kinda wanted to anyways.
  11. Pen and Paper and Roll20.net Games

I would totally be down for Dungeon World.
  12. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

I played like two hours and felt much the same way. I don't think I've ever bounced off of a game so hard in my life.
  13. No Man's Sky

    Nah. That's totally normal.
  14. Hah I come here to post more or less the same thing! I will however add that it prolly shouldn't have been there to begin with in my view.
  15. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - Return of Grumpy Chiselarms

Yes thank you that's exactly what I was thinking of! That's some almost Far Cry 3 levels of bullcrap right there.
  16. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - Return of Grumpy Chiselarms

I'm less then surprised that it sounds like the game is pretty solid except the uninteresting story given the lead writer (I believe) going on about how 'Aug Lives Matter" is not meant to be commentary on the current political climate. Still I'm not super in the mood to hear about mechanical apartheid for 30 hours at the moment so I think I'll pick this up on sale.
  17. Damn it, but computers have become really complicated

Speaking of insane 4K gaming I picked up a 1070 finally and can vouch for it being a perfectly capable 4K card. It can't max things out at 60 FPS but it can handle almost anything at about 40 to 50 FPS at near max, mostly by turning things like AA off and shadows down to high from ultra. And frankly I can barely tell the difference between high and ultra most of the time anyways.
  18. Elder Scrolls: Legends, Elder Hearthstone

I'm interested in checking this out but I'm holding out for and android version. My proverbial kingdom to the first big CCG with a good android version.
  19. Rimworld

So I asked a few pages ago if the Main dude making this was a gamer gate supporter and I did some digging and sadly the answer was yes: I've found a few things a bit more objectionable such as him defending Total Biscuit and some more recent posts from him on the subject but I'm not super interested in starting a receipt blog on the subject so I'll leave you to do that digging. I will say that based on what I saw I was not comfortable buying this game.
  20. Thumb Fortress 2

I keep seeing this and thinking it's a Dwarf Fortress secession game and it is very much not. Although you could probably simulate TF2 in DF.
  21. In Mario Maker Morning's today Patrick said that Dan had a vacation coming up and this was all probably just that.
  22. The other theories are that he's moving to Giant Bomb East or that they're just F-ing with people for either fun or to have Dan leave in the most "Wrestling" way possible.
  23. Life

Oh yeah I'm going in to get tested. The place I work told me to come in for a blood test and I assume it's on them. Which given that I'm a contract worker and I think I signed away when I took the gig. Which was dumb but when you're seventeen-ish and your mom tells you your going to work for her you just kinda sign whatever. And no I don't have a hep B vaccine but when I told my mom I got poked she asked if she ever got around to getting me vaccinated for that. Noooooooope.
  24. Life

So I poked myself with a quite possibly used needle at work today! I clean a same day surgery clinic and picked up what I thought might be a pen cap on the floor under the weird coat rack thing and as I was realizing it might be a needle the cap slide off I freaked out realizing it was in fact a needle and stupidly tried to put the cap back on and poked myself ever so slightly and drew blood. I was more or lees okay with this as honestly I've worked there long enough that a blood test isn't a bad idea anyways and the place I work does planned out ahead of time and is to my knowledge not the sort of place frequent heroin users are likely to afford so the odds of the needle being infected are lower then they would be other places. But my mother was kind enough to point out that since we are connected to the hospital the needle could have come from there so now I get to deal with that bit of info all night. On the plus side the transmission rate for most things is surprisingly low from what I can tell. Or maybe the internet is lying to me again like it did when it told me I was pregnant because I had neck pain.
  25. I Had A Random Thought...

Adding every movie and TV show you own into a Google Drive Spreadsheet makes for a surprisingly satisfying Sunday afternoon. And when you're done you get the look at the giant spreadsheet and realize where all your paychecks went!
