Another weirdness there. As far as I can tell you can't calm down someone from a break, or help them in any way besides waiting it out. The only way I've ever had someone stop a break early was if they were physically incapacitated enough that they'd be bedridden. You would think that a woman on a mental break because her son died could be talked down by her husband. In general the social mechanics of the game are pretty bare, but given that this is a bit of a focus in the game I'd expect more.

Hrm. I don't like the code that was presented in the original article now, I think it should have been more clearly labelled/explained. That said it's disappointing that even though the dev has calmed down, he's only making small concessions. He's still insisting that he did research as if that means there weren't any assumptions involved. In part it's a bad side effect of the way on the internet that arguments usually involve trying to defend against a list of points. But ultimately doesn't seem like he's actually taking the criticism on board (aside from fixing the removal of bisexual men).
  3. Rimworld

I'm going the opposite way and wondering how hard it'd be to mod this out.
  4. They were probably trying to be progressive.

I don't think this is that strange. It's very common at this point for people (particularly younger people) to resist the most obvious forms of strict sexism. People wont outright say "as a woman you cannot do this job". But it's stuff like this that's persisting among a lot more people, where people insist on inherent biological difference that they've observed. Stuff that 'makes sense', or 'feels right' but doesn't examine the subconscious biology of why you think it.

Is there a way to rescind support after buying a game? :/
  7. Welcome to Wizard Jam 4!

    Wizard Jam 4 Wii U
  8. Pixel Daily with Me

Oh it actually did look like wheels! I guess I had just thought it wasn't meant to, my bad! ^^' Turns out it looks like the thing you wanted.
  9. Pixel Daily with Me

Looking at that, I'd suggest using more blocks of colours. I like your mammoth, but the disaparate pixels on the body/legs don't really define any form. It's almost like a hanging sheet. If you blocked out light and shadow on distinct legs it'd help clarify the physical shape of it.
  10. Fantasy Finale XV

That's not a trailer: “Omen,” a short CG movie by Digic Pictures, inspired by FINAL FANTASY XV. I'm curious about what a modern Final Fantasy looks like, given that it seems they're trying to pivot away from where the 13 trilogy went.
  11. I found Idle Thumbs through a much shorter path. I just searched for gaming podcasts and found one called Experience Points. I listened to it for a while, and they kept talking about Idle Thumbs. I actually dropped that cast after a while too. But with a lot of casts it works that way. Idle Thumbs > Followed Danielle to > Bombcast > Followed Austin Walker to > Friends at the Table and Vice Gaming's Waypoint's New Podcast

I think in that case you could shade the tongue to show that it's curled down at an angle. As it stands, it seems like the tongue is on a relatively flat plane. Looks good
  13. Other podcasts

For anyone interested, I found a website that can turn youtube channels/playlists/groups into podcast feeds. You just get the URL you want and it returns you one reformatted into an RSS page: http://podsync.net I don't know how it works with ads yet, I sent them an email to ask. It may lead to not generating ad revenue for the youtubers, but I'm hoping it magically still does.
  14. Modest Tech: The NX Generation (Nintendo Switch)

I hope one surprise is a mystery port that isn't used for years.
  15. I'm in! My art contributions will be mostly just emoji
  16. I'm interested! What level of art are you expecting? I could do some but I wouldn't want to be too involved since I'll be (trying to) make my own game.
  17. Your inclusion made me super happy, good luck with the new job Danielle!
  18. Austin wrote a piece about the logic behind the name. I do like it tbh and think the reasoning makes sense. http://www.vice.com/read/why-vice-gaming-is-now-waypoint-dragons-dogma-launch-stream
  19. Modest Tech: The NX Generation (Nintendo Switch)

Surely couldn't the tablet part wirelessly connect to the dock to allow people to use the screen as a controller while seeing it on the TV? I'm sure they wouldn't want to focus on that and make it look like the Wii U 2, but I could see it being a feature.
  20. Black Mirror

I remember the pig one as being very flat and actually kinda juvenile. I would say it's an atypical episode so do try another. I really liked The Entire History of You (S1E3).
  21. Modest Tech: The NX Generation (Nintendo Switch)

To be clear, I don't think it's a good reason to be optimistic about Skyrim's inclusion. I just think that's why people are responding in that way.
  22. Modest Tech: The NX Generation (Nintendo Switch)

I think the reason Skyrim is like "real" 3rd party support is maybe a bit of optimism, but also the fact that it's a very gamey ass game. It's a big popular AAA game that doesn't seem like it would run well on a poor specced system. I don't think that's particularly accurate tbh. But 3rd party support for the Switch would be a boost more than anything else. Letting me play games mobile-y would be nice but I'm fine with using my PC otherwise.
  23. Welcome to Wizard Jam 4!

I meant that as a good thing. It's a nice present.
