  1. [Release] wrong thread - a detective game

Thanks! And yes, it's real handy. You can't pass arguments or get return values unfortunately so I have some custom functions that are just "roll dice 1" etc. But it's incredibly useful for pacing like this, to have better control without needing to try set up some threading system.
  2. [RELEASE] Batman Loves Him A Parallelogram

Good Batman, I hope you make a tiny Pico8 dating sim about Batman trying to find a parallelogram to love. Also I don't know about external links, but if you just upload the gif to the post itself then the gif does seem to work.
  3. [Release] wrong thread - a detective game

I've been working on the game and have a basic system in place. I'm using a library called Fungus that makes dialog windows and trees very easily manageable in Unity. Alongside that I've set up my simple skillcheck system where when you come upon a dilemma, you can choose to rely on one of your three skills, tentatively called "bluff", "charm" and "tough", depending on what you're trying to do in a given situation. Each gives you a different bonus (or even penalty) depending on what you're good at. But they also have different effects. So even if you're best at being tough, toughness isn't always the right tool for a job. The way this skill is tested is essentially a dice roll. Your skill's bonus, plus two regular six sided dice are rolled. I have this woven into the game now, so you can choose a skill and it executes the roll: A lot of putting this together was actually using the Unity animation system. The dice are rolled and updated with timed function calls in there. You can see the mess of animation keys I have here: Highlighted in blue are all the dice updating function calls. I used animation because I wanted to time them out to give the sense of rolling quick and then slowing to rest on the final number. I foolishly tried to do that in a script before realising that you can calling functions in an animated sequence anyway.
  4. [released] Avocado Smash

Clearly your partner doesn't understand art, these faces are top notch.
  5. Welcome to Wizard Jam 4!

There are people who started halfway through the last one, (possibly even later?) so you're in good company! Looking forward to seeing what you're gonna do. ^^
  6. a divine exodus of snakes

    Smug demon Jake is amazing
  7. It's fun now that Nick's playing Dark Souls 1 and I actually know the game.
  8. Other podcasts

More specifically, when they start a new game in season 2 they cut way down on table talk and focus on playing the game. I personally miss the extra banter
  9. [RELEASED] Cheatin' Hitman

Haha, this idea is great. I find it especially fitting that the Nick Breckon hitman wants to still go through with faking the assassination, getting the money and then turn them in to the police.
  10. Pen and Paper and Roll20.net Games

That's not high enough to convince us.
  11. Idle Cook Club - Veggie Feeds-me: My Body Is Ready

Jelly, eggs, falafel and farts. Obviously. I get stuck on G, for Gary. But I'll figure it out.
  12. Pizza Tonight / A Chill Hell

Might I make suggestion that it's not a delivery person, but a delivery robot?
  13. Modest Tech: The NX Generation (Nintendo Switch)

Wow this really is cheaper than I'd have guessed. But it has the desired effect, I'm feeling way more inclined to just pick it up because it's like one category lower of expensive for me. I'd still be cagey about getting it day 1, but I don't feel like I'd need to save up for that price in any way.
  14. Pen and Paper and Roll20.net Games

In one session, I had a player roll a 1. I said they had to roll an attack on an ally, on which they rolled a 1, missing entirely. This happened twice that session.
  15. Haha, I had exactly the same idea with exactly the same camera problem. I didn't come up with a good solution. My park was basically hell. A giant underground lit by fire everywhere. And once you enter the first ride, the exit path doesn't connect back to the park entrance, so you're trapped forever. I'll try take pics later, but its very rough.
  16. The Next President

I can understand the sentiment of that if you're choosing between someone who has easy solutions to complicated problems and someone who says there's no problem.
  17. WJ4 Diversifiers

    God dang these are good.
  18. Breaking Bad

Yeah, exactly. He wasn't forced into this situation by any means, he chose it because he thought he had to/it was the one he wanted.
  19. Breaking Bad

I like Breaking Bad as a criticism of male gender roles, whether intentional or not. Walter's problems stem from an issue with how he sees himself as a member of society and the head of his family. His greatest weaknesses come from a need to be masculine, masquerading as a sense of doing what's right for his family.
  20. The Next President

Also much in the vein of Brexit, I wonder are there going to be stories of people who didn't think their vote would matter and didn't really want to vote him in but gave their vote to Trump anyway.
  21. New people: Read this, say hi.

Ah, unfortunately I have no italian. That sounds really fun though! If I ever finish learning Swedish and move onto new languages I'll remember this.
  22. New people: Read this, say hi.

Welcome! Always fun to see new folks roll in for wizard jam. If you don't mind me asking, is the podcast you used to run still online anywhere? I listen to far too many of them, and am always up for more.
  23. WJ4 Asset Sharing

There's also a thread about Eric's songs where he regularly updates about new pieces he's made. You can see it here: I expect he'd appreciate hearing from people who use his stuff. ^^
  24. Free Music / SFX Resource - Over 2500 Tracks

Hey Eric! Thanks for posting so many of these, it's great to see how the library's grown. You may have seen, but Wizard Jam (community game jam) is starting a couple weeks, and so your site was linked in a big thread of assets people might use. You can see the thread here. I know I plan on looking through your stuff for my game, I'll leave a post for you here when it's online.
