Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare: Spacey Face
Architecture replied to Badfinger's topic in Video Gaming
It's too late, I've already purchased it. But I'm glad you're backing my play here. Jon, are you not playing this on PC? -
Reddit must be destroyed.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare: Spacey Face
Architecture replied to Badfinger's topic in Video Gaming
So, uh...let's say I really enjoyed the Modern Warfare games as well as Black Ops 2 and have probably put 300 hours collectively into the series' multiplayer. Should I purchase this? -
As someone who played this on PS3, I can attest to it being a wholly competent experience on consoles. That being said, it certainly runs better (and can be had cheaper) on PC. Black Friday and its myriad deals are almost upon us...

Press X to let them eat cake.

I highly doubt that. They're one of the most vetted digital game resellers out there. They don't work with every publisher. In fact, they don't sell Activision games. But they are partnered with both EA and Ubisoft, as well as WB and a number of other publishers both large and small. I'm sure everyone's getting their money.

Just Cause 2 is currently on sale on Steam for those of you who haven't purchased it. It's well worth your $3.

Green Man Gaming is 100% legitimate, you shouldn't be concerned. They fork over keys as soon as they receive them, and I had plenty of time to pre-load Titanfall's mammoth 50GB footprint on my PC ahead of its release. You should be able to apply GMG's 20% off voucher to Dragon Age: NOVEMB-ERGMGX-20XOFF

...And then slapped a 7/10 score on it.

What you're describing is colloquially known as a catch-22. An example of irony would be Twig finally relenting and purchasing an Xbox One for Sunset Overdrive only for Microsoft to announce its PC release the next day.
-
I'm pretty sure this isn't an example of irony.

Are you sure about this? The website makes no mention of Gamma access for pre-ordering. Regardless, I think I'm going to bite. If I have a Core i5 4670K (@4.2GHz) with a GTX760, my rig should be able to handle this, yes?

It has to be a business decision motivated on margins. As you said, you need UPlay even if you purchase the game on Steam. Ubisoft probably thought they were King Shit enough to cut Valve out of the loop.
-
I don't expect this to happen, but I desperately hope it does. This game looks like my sort of thing.

Ubisoft has decided to part ways with Valve for the time being: http://www.giantbomb.com/articles/ubisoft-removes-upcoming-pc-games-from-steam/1100-5078/ I realize this probably doesn't mean much in the scheme of things--after all, you had to install UPlay even for games purchased on Steam--but it really brings into focus Ubisoft's tondeafness with regards to PC gaming.

Well, Lucas Pope certainly seems like the genuine article.

As someone who rides hard for Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, I must say that the Video(space)gamer review gives me pause. I don't know why I'm a glutton for such punishment, but failing and just knowing I can do better keeps me going for hours.
-
Steam tells me I've played 30 hours, and I'm still not finished. I think I have 3 story missions left to complete? This is the most involved I've been with a single-player game in quite some time. Honestly, it's hard to imagine liking something more than this in 2014 for me, personally.

Hatred: The Most Despicable Game of All Time?
Architecture replied to Architecture's topic in Video Gaming
Polygon interviewed Hatred's Creative Director recently, and added a footnote that they'd asked some follow-up questions regarding the team's apparent white supremacy: Unfortunately, I'm guessing the team will be going dark as to not torpedo their own game. I'd be really curious to see their response to the allegations. -
Hatred: The Most Despicable Game of All Time?

Since it's being built in UE4, it's safe to assume there's an ongoing subscription-based license agreement between Epic and Destructive Creations, correct? Epic should refund DC its money up to this point, terminate the license and say, "thanks, but no thanks." Asking for their logo to be removed from the trailer and all future marketing materials is a good start, but feels like a half measure to me. -
Hydroelectric dams destroy natural ecosystems. They're incredibly costly on an ecological scale.

I think I would prefer to watch Idle Thumbs forum members stream than most of the idiots who rack up huge viewerships, honestly.

Hatred: The Most Despicable Game of All Time?
Architecture replied to Architecture's topic in Video Gaming
The other shoe has finally dropped. Someone on a different board had alluded to them having Stormfront ties, and was mostly basing on the image of the developers wherein one is wearing a Żołnierze Wyklęci t-shirt. But at the time, there was no substantive proof out there. This really is just the most disgusting thing I've seen in a while.
