Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG
Jutranjo replied to TychoCelchuuu's topic in Video Gaming
This game isn't easy on normal. Normal is making me reload 2-3 times for some fights. I don't understand everything that's happening yet though. The 2 health bars work great, it actually makes your party get worn down after several fights. Per encounter/per rest abilities add some more as well. There's little point in resting after every single fight like in the old IE games.- 214 replies

There's premade companions with backgrounds and stories that you meet and recruit but you can also find pay to hire adventureres in inns and elsewhere very early on. Hiring them has you create a new character like in IWD, at 1 level lower than your PC.- 214 replies

inXile did Wasteland 2, they're the ones developing Torment: Tides of Numenera. Obsidian only kickstarted this one I think.- 214 replies

Also backer keys for Steam and GOG are available on http://eternity.obsidian.net/, I got no email notification. Game is out in about 19 hours!- 214 replies

Idle Thumbs 202: Poopwater, New Mexico

Wasn't the time they did game ads really bad? If drugs aren't a problem in IT, how would they be in Games'. -
Have you tried linking them with more one way roads into our lord and saviour, a small roundabout?

This season seems to be going downhill so fast in the last few episodes. I can't wait to see how next week is even worse. All the dumb stuff with Cooper and the shotgun mayor, the widow, the Leo things. They introduce Eckhart as, Eckhart, Thomas Eckhart, cut into black sunglasses indoors, at night, so fire can be reflected off them. Is anything mill related to do with fire? Windome, Windome Earl introduction. How is logging connected to Hong Kong? What fun could they have? With lumberjacks? Smuggling drugs in logs? Is lumber importing from the north west of the USA to Hong Kong this big of a deal that the two people in the know want to kill each other? For one of them to go into hiding for 5? 7? years? I still really liked the Ben Horne stuff. It was the best scene of the episode.

You could go back to L'Hospital's after doing derivatives. If you're doing it formally, you'd do limits before derivatives. How would you even explain a derivative of a composition of functions without limits?

There's always people idling but there can just be no chat for hours at a time.

I dunno if this has been posted but here's an interview with a valve VRgineer. Then impressions. Makes some sense of why Valve hasn't done anything public, they've had all teams locked up with 3D printers making the future of gaming. ALSO since I got the top of the page, here's the title joke

Looking forward to an anxiety filled #200, where everyone is afraid of the recording failing again. -
I dunno about oxygen, maybe media exposure? Or development funding? Godus is just such a trainwreck, at least Broken Age is an actual adventure game as was pitched in the kickstarter. Godus went from God Game RTS to F2P mobile crap. The no publisher for kickstarter gave most people hope since they devs wouldn't be dependant on anyone making insane calls on stuff like multiplayer server architecture or making IAP a thing or porting the game to mobile before PC.

I thought EA had other issues that Valve doesn't, or at least did in the past: http://ea-spouse.livejournal.com/ -

Chests not dropping any more doesn't really matter that much, they changed it so you just buy chests off the store instead of keys for chests. The chests were worth 3 cents on the marketplace so it was just a hassle if you wanted to burn money on keys. That was changed a long while ago anyway, you guys got an email from the hat baron about it then. The 3 month delay on selling items from chests is really weird. A clockwerk set that came out 3 months ago was 2-3 euros before February 1st is 4 cents for each of the 5 pieces now. -
Twin Peaks Rewatch 16: Drive With a Dead Girl

A silly detail that no one mentioned so far, when Jerry visits Ben in prison, there's a small Japanese flag on the bed after Jerry gets up. The moment after, when the camera moves within the cell, the flag is gone. -
The lockpicking minigame sold me that this team has potential. It only pops up for a second or less but it just looks so right. It's fiddly, you can make simple locks that you can't fail, harder ones where you easily break your pick, it presumably doesn't pause the world around you to let you slide a little ball around. It's got potential for actual dexterity unlike the Skyrim/Fallout 3 system of guessing which angle is the correct one.
