  1. I just can't stop laughing right now, omg.Well, my favorite game is Shadow of the Colossus. But I didn't listen to the cast, I'll do it when I get home to see what it is about.
  2. the Talos Principle

I'm interested, if you still have it. I got pretty interested in this game after reading about it.
  3. Its beginning to look a lot like GOTY

This really got my interest, I like this kind of narrative driven games on mobile.
  4. PC Gaming - Graphics and Performance

It's weird, I think your setup should run the game without any issues. You could try running the game with D3Doverrider. Disable the in-game vsync, download the d3doverrider and run it (make sure vsync and triple buffering are on). It might be the case that the game doesn't have a proper triple buffering, then any dip lower than 60fps goes to 30 or less. You can also try to run the game using borderless windowed mode, which does the same thing. If the game doesn't have an option for borderless fullscreen, you can download a program that forces it - I think it's called borderless gaming.
  5. I posted it in the PS4 threqd, but maybe I should just put the video of The Order 1886 demo here instead, makes more sense: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMjLVRc17kM
  6. PL4YST4TION 4

There's a video for the playstation experience demo of The Order 1886, and it's possibly a very very good looking game, it's a shame I'm at work right now and can't watch it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMjLVRc17kM I'm mildly interested in this game, I love that the guys are going all in for a cinematic aesthetic, with lots of postprocessing effects to simulate film visuals, it shows that they really want to make the game a "cinematic experience". But I'm not sure if the story will be enjoyable, that's important if you're doing a cinematic game.
  7. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense, haven't noticed it before, Mington. I really don't think they will be focused on one place only, even though that island is big as fuck. About the island, I must say I'm super impressed with the lots of vegetation they have there. It seemed very natural and not just green texture with some leaves in it, there's also plenty of plants on the rocks he climbs. Looks great.
  8. Yep, it's a bit silly. Of course 60 fps is better, but Uncharted games are usually very polished when it comes to framerates. Also you can't have it all, it's unreasonable these big and detailed open areas at 1080p and 60 fps, I imagine it must be hard as fuck. Anyway, I thought the demo looked amazing, so so pretty, and the level design definitely took a step up when compared to the other games. So satisfying to see the more varied combat sections. Can't wait!
  9. Its beginning to look a lot like GOTY

Bayonetta 2. It's my GOTY, and possibly one of my favorite games of all time. Even if it's style doesn't appeal to me usually, I think this game just nailed it, it's fantastic. My second place goes to Banner Saga. I really enjoyed playing this, the story was really interesting and with some really tough choices to make as a leader of the group. I realized at the time I would be a terrible leader, but also that being a leader at times like that it's something terrible by itself. Really great game and I can't wait for the second act. Third place goes to Shadow of Mordor, great game, the nemesis system was a neat innovation, I really hope devs creates more enemies with some kind of personality. The main quests was great overall, felt very nice figuring out which way you were going to infiltrate the fortresses, etc. I also enjoyed the acting on the game, even in Brazilian Portuguese they did a fantastic job. Next comes Broken Age, which could be way better if it the complete story. However, I really enjoyed the girl segment of the game, it's fantastic. I was playing this on my iPad and my girlfriend just fell in love with the game, I even gifted her one copy because it was the first time I ever saw her genuinely interested in a new game that isn't The Sims or Little Big Adventure. However, the boy segment of the game wasn't as great. The last noteworthy game of this year was Wolfenstein: The New Order. It was a really decent shooter with a surprisingly decent story, but that's it. It was better than I expected, pretty enjoyable, but nothing on it was actually mesmerizing. This list just makes me realize that I played much less video games now that I'm working full time. Have yet to play stuff like Shovel Knight, Fantasy Life and Transistor.
  10. Tacoma from Fullbright

Yes! I screamed like a little girl when I saw Fullbright's logo. Seems really promising!
  11. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Yesterday I had my first couple of hours with my Wii U. I thought I'd have more hours with it, but the system update took hours to download. I really enjoyed the looks and the build quality of the system/controller, the small form factor of the console is so beautiful. The controller was better than I expected to be honest, no hassle despite it's size. The screen on the controller is really unnecessary in my opinion, it's a cool addition, but I'd rather not have it. The best use I found for it is to turn down/up the volume without needing to use the TV remote, that's truly amazing, however, I wish I could turn the screen off when playing on the TV. It doesn't help the the screen has such a bad resolution when compared to all the mobile devices I already own. I'd love a handheld system with the design of this gamepad, but for a home console it doesn't make a lot of sense. As for the games, Super Mario 3D World starts slow, but its getting better, I think I'll end up loving it. The visuals are so colorful and shiny, there's nothing like it on other platforms. But what really justified my Wii U purchase was Bayonetta 2. Fuck, this game is bonkers! I was having quite a bad day and wasn't really having much fun playing games. But the, already on the prologue, Bayonetta starts with one of the silliest action sequences ever, I couldn't get any happier. The game's also so smooth to play, there's nothing else like it. And it also comes with the original Bayonetta, in a much upgraded version when compared to the shitty PS3 port I've played. This is the best thing ever, thanks a lot Nintendo.
  12. Far Cry 4: A grenade rolls down everest

Yeah, have seen this yesterday. That's a nice little feature.
  13. Nobody expects the Dragon Age Inquisition

I just want to say that everytime I read this thread title I have a smile on my face. Brilliant title. Thanks, Mington.
  14. Assassins Creed Unity

I played this at my cousin's and good lord what a gorgeous game! It surely is the biggest graphical leap we have yet, very very pretty and unmatched by any other game so far, when it comes to complex graphics. The performance wasn't bad when you lock it at 30 fps, plays good on a decent PC. However, the game is not really good to play, it felt a bit slower than most assassins creed, didn't control very well. I couldn't evaluate game/level design though, played for a brief time. I think I'll buy it when its cheap last year, the visuals are worth it, depending on the price.
  15. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

This is freaking amazing! I'll have to buy one of those. Anyway, now I have Bayonetta 2 and Mario 3D World in my house, but no Wii U to play with. Damn, the vendor took like a week to send me the package, and since I'm going on a trip on Thursday, I'll probably only play with the Wii U next week. That's not good at all for my anxiety. Also, thanks for your impressions, dartmonkey, I also feel that some of Wii U games can only be good with other people to play. Speaking of which, how does match making works on Wii U? Do you still need the person's social registry number to play online, or is there something like playing with random people?
  16. Valkyria Chronicles

Really? Does this mean that my units will get more damage from overwatch if I'm playing the game at 60 fps? But the game is so much better at that frame rate
  17. Assassins Creed Unity

Honestly, I can't see any reason to use English with accents instead of the country native language. I mean, that's the only choice if you want realism. People don't speak English with accents in non-English countries, they speak their native language. If the producers think the foreign language is not good enough forthe audience, that's fine. I mean, we don't use dubbing with accents in movies and animes/cartoons, and you're not doing any benefit for the setting of the work by creating something that doesn't represent at all the actual reality of the place you're depicting.
  18. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Today I picked my first Wii U gam disc. Round edges! This is truly next-gen.
  19. Valkyria Chronicles

It seems that the game sold way beyond their projections on it's first day on Steam: http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/six-year-old-rpg-valkyria-chronicles-tops-steam-sellers-list/0141295 If that means Sega will release other titles on PC, like Vanquish and Bayonetta, then it's definitely awesome news.
  20. Valkyria Chronicles

I bought it as well, it's a pretty decent port, the 1080p resolution does wonders to the image quality, the watercolor art looks way better than I remember on PS3. 60 fps also improves things a lot. Those are basic improvements, but considering how console exclusive games from Japan usually end up being terrible on PCs, this is a really great port by Sega. I only played about 2 hours of the game on PS3 and quit, didn't have much time to complete the whole campaign back then. But the improvements on PC really makes the experience better and now I feel like finishing it. I do recommend this new version to anyone interested.
  21. Assassins Creed Unity

It seems the game runs pretty bad on most setups, even on Consoles. You need at least a GTX 680 to run it on medium/low at 40 fps, according to nVidia. But it does look very nice though. I was really interested in this game before, but lately AAA games have been so disappointing that I decided to not buy them anymore and just put my money on a Wii U. At least the game seems to have some pretty cute bugs:
  22. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Damn, preowned Nintendo Games prices are ridiculous! At least here in Brazil. It's shocking coming from PC gaming to this.
  23. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

That's it! I'm part of the club now. Just bought a Wii U! Now I wait until it arrives. Man, it feels super weird. Buying a console used to be a big deal when I didn't work, but now, with a regular salary, I just kinda impulse bought it (even when my definition of "impulse buy' means thinking about it over a week). Just easy as that. I don't kno . I think I just have some kind of guilt when spending too much money on video games. But I shouldn't, the Wii U library is gettinggreat for me to just to ignore.
