  1. Is it strange that my favorite part of the E3 trailer is the turtle? Because its a cute little dude/dudette.
  2. Just Cause 3

Unlimited C4 sounds like a fantastic idea. I am so excited to blow up all the things: http://www.polygon.com/2015/6/16/8790209/just-cause-3-launch-date
  3. E3 2015

Am I missing something or did Sony not talk about Morpheus at all? WTH?
  4. The Great Co-op Thread

I am a huge fan of Coop and used to buy coop console games almost exclusively. Goat Simulator Coop is alright. There isn't too much you do together aside from trash the map more quickly and stumble upon messes left by others. Its a good way to show the game to someone with out having them watch you. Also 4 player split screen coop on PC is a rare thing. PayDay 2 is a well done coop shooter heist game. It does a good job of balancing player skill and a well tuned class upgrade system. The random elements in maps and varied strategies make it a lot of fun to replay the same levels if you can find a good group. The biggest issue is that you cannot form groups and join games as two or three players, so it can be hard to group up with friends. I really enjoyed Far Cry 4 coop, despite the connection issues. It just works so well for clearing out outposts. I want to try Valley of the Yetis coop (just picked it up in the steam sale). Best coop experience I have had in recent memory is Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 (Vegas 1 is alright) you can pull of so many great room clears with 2 human players and two AI teammates. I am becoming more and more interested in Rainbow Six Siege since they showed the coop terrorist hunt. Ghost Recon Wildlands might be a fantastic 4 player Coop FPS. From the trailer it looks like there are multiple tactical approaches to missions, day night cycles, open maps. As you might be able to tell I am a big fan of Coop shooters. I would also point out that many RTS games allow for Player v. AI gameplay.
  5. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

I grabbed Rome 2 Total War for $14 and Dues Ex: Human Revolution: Directors Cut for $4. Maybe I will even play them some day.
  6. XCOM 2

I am a little annoyed that they made a bunch of exceptions in this "gameplay" I want to see an actual representation of the game, not this cinematic gameplay thing. I am excited by the possibility of overwatch happening one by one so three soldiers don't shoot the same guy at 1 HP (some sort of initiative system?).
  7. E3 2015

    Ubisoft WTF?
  8. It shouldn't matter storywise. At this point we don't even know if the seasons will happen in the same universe.
  9. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

Got Grey Goo and Far Cry 4: Valley of the Yetis. Everything else I want isn't cheap enough.
  10. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

People cheered for the mole rat. E3 is weird.
  11. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

Instead of paying $60 for a giant plastic Pip-Boy, I think I will spend $10 on a sport band for my phone. http://www.polygon.com/2015/6/14/8780113/the-pip-boy-is-fabulous-in-fallout-4-and-its-real
  12. E3 2015

I saw a story recently about how connected appliances make it easy to steal wifi passwords
  13. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

How does this monster game work? I'm at work and cant try it out.
  14. Mirrors Edge at E3

Tricking people into thinking they are going to fall is something VR has been messing with for a while. http://www.worldviz.com/newsletter/legs-shaking-from-immersive-pit-demo
  15. Mirrors Edge at E3

If it doesn't have VR support the devs need their heads examined.
  16. Master of Orion Reboot

If they can make the game like MoO 1/2 with real time combat I will buy it. I really hope they avoid the overly complex systems from MoO 3. http://www.polygon.com/2015/6/9/8746959/master-of-orion-reboot-coming-from-the-team-behind-world-of-tanks
  17. The threat of Big Dog

Japan would build a swordsman robot:
  18. XCOM 2

those kinds of mistakes made me a save scummer
  19. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

I hope they ditch the hacking minigame, hated it so much!
  20. E3 2015

I imagine Legos are popular in Japan, they are huge in Korea. I had to stop a kid in one of my classes from playing with Legos hidden in his backpack on more than one occasion. Fun fact, despite the kids I was teaching having absorbed a lot of the Korean anti-Japanese propaganda they loved Lego Ninja-Go. Maybe they didn't know where ninjas are from.
  21. Its not an RTS but Tom Clancy's HAWX 2 was a standard arcade flight simulator until the last mission where instead of a crazy final battle you spend most of your time dodging lasers from space. As for CK2 the ending of a game is like the goals in the game, you make your own. I rarely play to the end date. Right now I am achievement hunting so for example my game end in whatever year my Hindu empire conquers Mecca. Much more rewarding than ending in 1453.
  22. The Big VR Thread

If this is a representative example of what will happen with Mobile VR I will get on board: https://www.oculus.com/blog/announcing-the-mobile-vr-jam-2015-winners/
  23. Conspiracy; Open your eyes sheeple

NYT just had an article about one of the Russian Troll farms: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/07/magazine/the-agency.html I would also point to Jack Warner of FIFA who, after saying he was innocent is now going to try and save his bacon by selling everyone else down the river. self interest > protecting your co-conspirators. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-33002674
  24. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

The main thing I liked about VATS was that it conserved ammo. now that I have NV on PC I sometimes give myself 1,000,000 minigun bullets and just tear up the world.
  25. Conspiracy; Open your eyes sheeple

Why I have a hard time believing in conspiracies: The more complicated it gets the greater the chance that someone will fail to tow the line. For example after Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 was shot down over Ukraine Russian State TV showed a photoshopped image of a Ukranian Jet shooting down the plane: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/ukraine/11232683/Russia-says-MH17-was-shot-down-by-plane-missiles.html Just recently the company that makes BUK surface to air missiles came out to say that one of their older missiles was used to shoot down the plane, but since they haven't made that missile in a while they would like to be off the sanctions list please. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/russia/11646958/Missile-maker-could-blow-up-passenger-jet-to-prove-MH17-not-downed-by-Russian-weapon.html This kind of evidence faking and covering up just cannot work at the scale of world events. To many individuals and organizations are involved and it is hard to maintain a single story in that situation.
