  1. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

ThEre I added it to my sig.
  2. XCOM 2

I got way further in my iron man play through than any other. It was more enjoyable. I remember I hit a point in my last attempt where the aliens suddenly upped the ante, while I was trying to stabilise my income. When they introduce the robots and berzerkers the difficulty feels intense.
  3. XCOM 2

I just saw the preview. Argh! Awesome! I really need to finish the Xcom but I always lose enthusiasm after I have a party wipe. I then come back a few months later, and restart because I need to be reminded how to play.
  4. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

Apparently there's DLC out today or something.
  5. Nintendo 3DS

WE should, I still have no clue how to find my code though.
  6. Nintendo 3DS

Depends on when I'm hungry, which is usually 11am I can't access the internet at my university on my 3DS though, so while I'd totally be up for it, it's impossible. I don't really talk about games, work is generally discussing well...work. I did turn up to the video game society once. It felt weird though. Me being 26 and everyone there was 18-22. I had nothing to talk to undergrads about other than "oh yeah, I'm staff...weird huh?"
  7. Nintendo 3DS

Man, I wish I had a colleague to play MH4U with at lunch time. That'd be so cool! How do you let people know you're into games? I get a lot of eye rolls and weird looks when people see me looking at game websites. There are a couple of people in my lab who have a PS4 or WiiU but while I have them as friends on the appropriate console, they never seem to be on.
  8. Nintendo 3DS

I brought my 3DS to work today because I wanted to play Monster Hunter. What have I become? It's also now been elevated to my second most played game on my 3DS. Pokémon Y, MonHun4U and Project X Zone are all 50+ hours. I have no idea why I played X Zone for over 50 hours. I didn't even like it all that much. It was just my commute game for a year.
  9. Splatoon is Ink-redible

That's cool! I was disregarding things with 2 or more of the same buff thanks to the advice the cat gave me. What about run/swim speed and ink savers. They're the ones I really care about.
  10. Splatoon is Ink-redible

I've not actually lost a ranked mode yet (I'm rank C) so I feel once I lose one, I'll finally care a hell of a lot less about maintaining my winning streak. It's a really good mode though, you can pull off some really clutch things, and suddenly, killing the enemy becomes the most important skill, and rollers become useless.
  11. Splatoon is Ink-redible

I really like the ranked mode, but as soon as I know my wins/losses count towards something I get really stressed out and can't play more than 1 or 2 at a time.
  12. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

Pretty much. It was either useless or amazing. Hence why I'd like them to get rid of it, or change it to always amazing, but you can only use it sparingly. Or come up with something better...
  13. PL4YST4TION 4

Uncharted Collection has been leaked. As someone who ignored both UC2&3, I think I'll have to buy this!
  14. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

I'm in the same boat, except I really liked 3 and NV and will get it just to experience more of that since I've not touched that style of game in a long time. If I had like Skyrim, maybe I'd be less inclined to care, but that was such a let down for me that I've pinned my hopes on Fallout 4. I do hope they ditch VATs, or at least make it a bonus, rather than something you do all the time.
  15. Splatoon is Ink-redible

I can't watch my partner play using the motion controls. It makes me feel sick because of all the jittery camera movements and her constantly looking at the damn ground. So I can understand if that's where you're coming from.
  16. Conspiracy; Open your eyes sheeple

http://www.naturalnews.com/ Just don't spend too long there.
  17. Splatoon is Ink-redible

The motion controls are just flat out superior to using the stick. You can turn faster, aim more accurately and more rapidly. It just takes a while to get used to because of years of using the analogue sticks to control. I just forced myself through it and now it feel natural.
  18. Nintendo 3DS

I started playing Kid Icarus again. Ugh, it's so good! It could easily be one of the greatest games on the 3ds if the control scheme wasn't so terrible. It's not only difficult to move when you're on the ground, but it's actually painful to hold the 3ds the hole time. Plus as a lefty it's awkward. The narrative presentation is just great though. A lot of games could learn from it.
  19. Idle Workouts

Ok that makes sense. It seems like a good program, but anything with the big 3 in (+/- a few other lifts) will be a good program. It's really hard to go wrong with that stuff unless you have a specific goal in mind, and you could easily add in some periodisation once you've started hitting plateaus. How did you check your form? Do you have a buddy or PT? I've tried recording myself since my gym is dead in the morning, but it's not always possible to get a good angle. I know my deadlift form is spot on, but I'm sure I have room for improvement in my squat, and my bench press form is awful thanks to an old injury but there's not a lot I can do about that. Slightly off topic, but I was reading about how Olympic lifters get ready for competitions. Essentially they "over-train" and try to push themselves past their limit for a week only to taper back the weight for a week and make it slightly easier before the competition to be in top form. I don't know if that has any practical application for breaking plateaus in the gym, but I intend to try it out with my squat over the coming 2 weeks.
  20. Splatoon is Ink-redible

The one you do best with. I love the Splattershot with the suction bomb and bazooka, but other people do great with other weapons. I think they're all viable to a certain extent.
  21. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

Aww yis. Fallout 3 was one of my favourite games of last gen. This is going to be good.
  22. Idle Workouts

The whole butt wink thing is bullshit anyway. Just look at high level powerlifters and they all do it (although what it is, seems pretty nebulous to me). It's about moving weight efficiently, if you have to do it slightly off form for your 1 rep max, then do it. If your form sucks for a 75%-80% 1RM then you may have to revisit that lift. In other news, I'm super happy today, I got a PB on my deadlift 1RM of 177.5 kg. More than double my body weight (aided by the fact I've dieted down and lost 5kg recently). My squat has been really suffering during my diet. I've not been able to increase the weight, and actually had to cut back on the number of reps. Really disappointed in myself. I've never done the strong lifts thing seriously before but I was wondering: How does 5x5 work? If I'm able to do 5 on my 1st set, you can be damn sure I won't be doing 5 on set number 5. Are you going below failure for those 5x5 or is there give in the number of reps per set, or even can you reduce the weight in the last 2 sets? It sounds crazy hard and I would either be going too light on the first set, or giving up on the 5th.
  23. Splatoon is Ink-redible

So what's the final verdict when it comes to walls? I was under the impression, that if you can't see it on the map, it doesn't count towards the score. I've heard other people, including the Giant Bomb crew saying that walls do count. I just don't know what to believe any more.
  24. Idle Food - Cooking!

I don't understand what this means.
  25. Splatoon is Ink-redible

Don't make me choose between Fallout and Splatoon. I don't think I'll be happy with my answer.
