  1. Idle Workouts

That's actually an awesome idea jennegatron. I might have to steal that. So I'm not sure if I should ask here or in the sports thread, but I was perusing my local powerlifting scene and came across the NW England records. I'm currently not that far off the records in my weight class and I'm sure I could get there. One of my aims when I started in the gym was to compete in a powerlifting meet. Basically I want to find a trainer and someone who can not only help me get stronger more efficiently but teach me how to compete. I just don't have money to employ a personal trainer. Not really sure what I'm trying to say, other than: is there a way to get trained for a moderate price?
  2. Super Mario Maker

Is it a good time to jump into Mario maker yet? I am waiting until the community has settled down and there's less auto play levels and more good stuff.
  3. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

I'm now convinced item drop rates change if you need something. Somehow... I chopped off 13 azure rathalos tails and captured them yet no tails drops. Apparently it has a 53% drop rate from tail carves and 10% from caps. Like...that's incredibly unlikely. I've got rubys coming out my ass now but no tails. Getting the hang of the charge blade. I'm hit or miss with it at the moment. I did manage to stun lock one of those rathalos which was pretty awesome. I also nailed a high rank seltas in 30 seconds. Feels good. Still not as good with it as I am the insect glaive, but it's looking more like my go to alternative. Just need those damn tails!!! Oh and I'm up for hunting this week.
  4. Catching up with you "retro wishlist".

I recently got it for my Vita, but couldn't get very far because the character walks at a snail's pace. I know that's a really shit reason, but it made the tiny amount of traversal feel like an eternity.
  5. I really want Nintendo to do well. They have so much potential right now - I couldn't agree more about Miiverse being a "V1" of a good idea. They just don't seem to be able to speak to anyone outside of a demographic they're not really aiming for (20 - 40 crowd). I good hand-held/home console ecosystem would be right up my alley. I love the off-TV play of the WiiU, and if the NX was a handheld that could work on TV also, I'd snap that up. It's my perfect system. The "Industry leading tech" sounds like Nintendo speak for "A new gimmick" rather than a load of horse power. They just really need a way to spin it. Too many people judge a console on its numbers, but it's such an incredibly shallow way to judge it.
  6. I Had a Random Thought (About Video Games)

I'm going to be devil's advocate and suggest you get SotFS. It's really good, and I think it's quite a bit better than Vanilla DS2. It's probably not going to b very expensive on a future Steam sale. I know that's probably not the answer you wanted, but other than "git gud" there's not really any other options. I do really like SotFS though. It got me back into DS2 and made me appreciate it a lot more.
  7. Let's discuss what a video game is

This thread is the worst. I feel pretentious even looking at it.
  8. Splatoon is Ink-redible

Ouch. Some pretty hard nerfs to the splattershot and inkzooka. The tentatek set up was my go to, but it looks like it got hit pretty bad. It was kinda over powered anyway. I like the N-Zap weapons too, and they got a tiny buff. The rollers nerfs were kinda needed. It's limited it so you actually have to aim to get a 1 shot kill. Only the centre of the swing will be 1 shot now. The Kraken also got some big nerfs, again, I think it needed it.
  9. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

Unfortunately I'm out until next week. Travelling.
  10. Idle Workouts

Hey Badfinger. I know it's obvious, but exercise will really help with the stress and not sleeping problems. I'm in full on panic mode at work now and I never feel like training. I spend all day talking myself out of it but I usually force myself to go and always have a great time. Every time you skip a work out, you feel like shit. You tell yourself that you're awful for skipping it and it doesn't make you feel better. The thing is, no one ever regrets working out. Nike has a super powerful message in "just do it" as much as it is a marketing slogan, it's also some of the best advice about exercise. On a side note: I'm so glad I'm not trying to lose weight any more. Putting on weight is so much fun. I'm never tired, I eat whatever I want and the weights are shooting up on my main lifts. The only problem is my lower back has gone from one of my stronger points to my weakest points. A day isn't long enough for it to recover which is throwing my routine off. Will have to go back to the drawing board.
  11. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

I think I may have burned myself out on MGSV, but I really want to 100% it (currently sitting at 90%). I have 200 or so hours of play time, but I'd say about 20 of those are from idling it waiting for things to finish. Seriously, 24 hours to build a nuke. Who's idiotic idea was that? If I could pay £5 to make it instant, I totally would. It'd easily save me £5 on my electricity bill.
  12. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

I like the stealth suit. It's certainly not necessary, I just think it looks better than TPP stealth suit (and is cheaper in terms of deployment).
  13. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Only real gamers get to see MGSV.
  14. Splatoon is Ink-redible

I try to make sure all I care about is personal success. Teams can be all over the place. There are some players who are just insanely good, which is always the thing that puts me off online shooters. I don't have the time, nor patience to get that good! Yeah the miiverse is amazing for Splatoon. So much great artwork. The way it's integrated into the game showcases how fantastic the miiverse idea is.
  15. Splatoon is Ink-redible

Some of those Japanese players are incredible. It's not fair!
  16. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

I loved that...but for different reasons.
  17. Let's discuss what a video game is

Then you made the right choice.
  18. Let's discuss what a video game is

I dunno, if I want to play a game, and I get given something that has no game play... I don't even know where I'm going with this. Gone Home was fucking great.
  19. Uncharted (4 and The Nathan Drake Collection)

Yeah I played 1 and thought it was shite. Ignored everyone else's opinions on 2 so never played it. I'll probably grab this, but only when the price drops.
  20. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

Oh nice! Man, I wanted to like the dual blades, I just can't play that aggressively. Stresses me out too much! Maybe we can organise some more hunts this next week.
  21. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

I managed to understand charge blade. It's pretty fun. Unloading all those phials into something's head feels awesome. You also get a surprising amount of manoeuvrability thanks to the little hop you get. Just spent all morning farming for Azure Rathalos tails. Cut off like 7 tails. Not a single tail was actually a tail. Man, fuck you!
  22. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

I know, I know, they found a way to fit it in, but I didn't care for it.
  23. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

I'm fed and ready to go when ever. (I also need to kill a bunch of Azure Rathalos...es)
  24. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

No I don't. I have no idea how to do those quests! Apparently there's a ton of cool stuff from those quests - I kinda want all the Zelda equipment. I'm at work right now, but I'll be able to play this evening.
  25. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

Haha, well that settles it then. I'd be happy to help, and by the looks of it, you need new armour. The Tetsucabra set is from grank 1...I think.
