I'm glad we can all agree on that.

It doesn't really bother me that it's not finished. I don't know why, I just feel like I've gotten a lot of satisfaction out of it, and a ton of mini-emergent narratives along the way. Even though I'm a late comer to MGS, I'd rather see such an amazing series go out with a bang, than a whimper. MGSV feels like a bang to me. It's truly Tactical Espionage Action.

That's a lot of info, thanks. Browsing through it, most of them seem very niche, while I was looking for something a little more broad. I intend to listen to that at some point, but I don't like him so much as I like the narrative he presented. I feel like it'd be lost jumping from different parts of history. I basically want "The History of the Tudors" podcast, because everyone knows that the Tudors are the coolest royal family in history.

Yeah, I loved the twist. So much fun. The whole story is just a bunch of fun, although Code Talker saying: over and over in the tapes started to grate on me. He really annunciates every syllable.

I'm on PS4. The loading times when connected are painful. Just opening the little hand held computer thing takes what feels like forever. Especially as I open and close it a lot.
-
I've found 2 reasons to never be online: 1) I get invaded all the time. 2) Loading screens are faster when you're offline. I hate that it takes an extra couple of seconds to open the map when you're online.

I don't connect online, so that might have something to do with why the nuke took 24 hours of play time to do it. I used normal sleep grenades for Quiet. Two did it nicely. UGH another mission where extracting containers for the task didn't register. The worst part is that they take time to respawn, so you can't just do the mission again.

That was a super fun level.

So, I've finished The Ancient World and The History of Rome, so now I'm craving something a little more modern. Any recommendations for medieval history podcasts?

One the the missions for listening to a conversation had the prisoner trip over right before he entered the house. It just fucked up the conversation starting. Had full quit the game to get it to work. Damn Viscount. I'm at 93% and I finally finished the nuke/disarmament trophies. Seriously, trophies locked behind 24 hours of in game time is just dumb, I don't know why I cared. I just want 100%. I now have to finish 17 missions for the tasks, and capture 5 more animals. There's just a few tasks I'm really not looking forward to - anything involving mission 1 and mission 45. The rest are pretty easy and fun, just glitchy.
-
The mission tasks are so glitchy it's ridiculous. Some things just don't register when you do them (e.g. extracting containers or certain reinforcements) and some things just don't trigger (listening to all conversations in some missions).

I've never seen you say that (probably because I've never been in the CK2 thread). I have the same questions as Gaizo. I would love to know how to play that game.

I think I've finally landed on a conclusion about Civilization V. I don't like it. It's kinda boring. I've played it for about 50 hours, and it just doesn't give me what I thought it would. I wanted political intrigue and masterful warmongering. It has neither. The interactions with other civilizations are shallow and the combat is dull. I know I'd like Crusader Kings II a lot, but I can't get the hang of it. It's just so freaking complicated.

The gamecube pad was pretty good. I also really liked how Melee used the buttons. They all made sense, both in menus and in combat.

How do you have natural mapping on a controller? Other than triggers for triggers, it's all arbitrary.

Ok, I'll be on then. 01-1468-8071-2085 p:1234

I have no idea where buttons are on any controller I've ever used, my brain doesn't work like that. I know what buttons do, and where to put my thumb/finger to use them. For this reason I suck at QTEs. I always have to look down at the controller to know which button to press, however, if it said something like "PRESS CANCEL" I'd immediately hit the B button on a Nintendo console or the O button on a Sony console without even thinking about it.

I ended up buying a pizza for dinner and thought "If I can afford a pizza, I can afford Mario Maker." So now I have pizza and Mario Maker.

I can probably do Thursday. We are GMT, Wooben.

I like the n zap as well. I just can't deal with the low rate of fire weapons. The echolocatior and the grenade are great subs. Against snipers I find it all depends on the terrain. If it's flat or I can get close without too much trouble, I win 9/10. Lots of swimming, zig zagging and jumping while firing usually gets them. If they're far off and elevated, well, I don't usually bother trying to get them. Just move somewhere else and wait for them to reposition.

What's a slack?

Hunting tonight anyone? Also, is this where I should be posting about it? I seem to remember something else but never bothered to get it...

I think I believe you. It sounds about right. I'm not quite g rank, I think I have one more quest to go, and since I've not had any access to the Internet I've just been farming rathalos. Hopefully i can either pug beforehand, or if people don't mind, we can just do that one quest. Edit: Heh. Switched weapons (to one not needing the tail as an upgrade) and got two tails off one rath. Desire sensor it is.
