  1. I wanna do some co-op with you guys, but can't afford Sinner right now
  2. A shame that the durability issue hasn't completely been resolved, but all this discussion of DS2 is making me very eager to get back into it. I love Dark Souls, but I'd really like to try out a new build without having to start it from scratch! Off topic, but can you respec in Bloodborne?
  3. The Official Video Game Music Corner

It's a good one. I'm very partial to Plague Knight and Treasure Knight themes, but like you said, it's all good
  4. The Official Video Game Music Corner

What's your favourite track? Really enjoyed your cover. I don't like it when covers try to get as close as possible to the original music. Yours was recognisably shovel knight, but there was plenty different about it to make it stand out
  5. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

There isn't enough weight to the combat in the Witcher 2, I don't think, and it was far too easy to win fights crudely by rolling around a lot and spamming attacks. Presumably this isn't possible on difficulties higher than normal. Also, on normal diff, if you spec into swordplay you never really need to prepare for any fights. The magic felt a bit weedy, so I usually didn't bother with it. Just roll and hit, roll and hit. Still a great game, like.
  6. Lord of the (Necro)dance - Daily Challenge!

    All I get is "This video is private" ;_;
  7. Lord of the (Necro)dance - Daily Challenge!

Here's todays. I was very bad, but I'm blaming the shonky framerate for throwing me off my A-game
  8. Lord of the (Necro)dance - Daily Challenge!

Yes, he's much more placid, presumably he has insurance. I read in the patch notes a while back about something called a "monstrous shopkeeper"? Can't wait to meet whatever that is!
  9. What's so special about pixel art?

That's lovely, SuperBiasedMan. I really like the shop frontage. This caught my eye on the twitters yesterday https://twitter.com/ThomasShahan/status/593637520560128000/photo/1
  10. Grand ThVmb Auto PC

Monkehhh's solution might be way better than mine, but what I did was turn on v-sync in the game. Before I did that it was unplayable, and now it's as I described a few posts back
  11. Grand ThVmb Auto PC

Cool, good luck to you. I played Online today for the first time and had a very smooth experience. Some of the same framerate hiccups as single player, but nothing major
  12. Grand ThVmb Auto PC

I've got a shitty old PC - i5 4 cores 3.3ghz 4gb ram (which is the bare minimum) Radeon 6950 2gb ram And, I've turned all the settings down as low as they'll go, turned off all the bells and whistles that it's possible to turn off. Now, the game looks okay, still! It's not a dog, not by any stretch of the imagination. The problem for me is that when I first boot up the game, the framerate tanks like heck, I can walk about but if I drive anywhere it all drops to about 3fps. This lasts for a few minutes, and I assume that during this time the game is loading assets and whatnot around me. That bit sucks but then it evens out. I'd say I get about 40fps, but that's a guess. Also, I want to join the thumbs and knock over some jewellers! I've got a headset and I'm a team player, and my nan said I'm handsome.
  13. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Bought Life is Strange for my girlfriend after she expressed an interest. I thought it looked shite but held my tongue. We played it for about an hour and then turned it off because neither of us could stand the awful, awful script. Examine the TV. "Can't wait to watch some more documentaries on this bad boy" HAHAHAHHA
  14. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Me and my gf are big fans of their first (only, so far?) album. It's a big shame that we can't see them live in the UK this year, as they're just playing festivals and it's too expensive for us Anyway We've all seen this by now, but it's great so let's see it again:
  15. What's so special about pixel art?

Does this count? https://pbs.twimg.com/tweet_video/CEASbNuWYAEqp1K.mp4 Edit: I don't suppose it does, but I like it :/
  16. Whoa, even in vanilla DS2? Wait, do you mean from player-dropped signs, or NPC signs?
  17. Getting through Shrine of Amana with an archer is bit dull, but very easy, whereas pure melee is a nightmare. I've done it before, a couple of times, but I don't think it's worth the frustration. Other than that, I'm generally with Griddle that archery doesn't particularly float my boat (same with magic). I'm helping a friend get through Dark Souls at the moment, and he seems to be warming up to it by slow-degrees. He's interested in DS2, so I look forward to playing it again and hopefully co-oping with him.
  18. The Official Video Game Music Corner

Really enjoying this Crypt of the Necrodancer remix album (hesitant to link to just one track, so...) https://rivalrivalrival.bandcamp.com/album/crypt-of-the-necrodancer-the-melody-mixes Give it a listen, 'dancers
  19. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

John Walker didn't like it, that old curmudgeon. Fingers crossed for you guys that he's wrong and it's great.
  20. Magical Realism & Weird Fiction thread

I've read all of Gormenghast (I too bought it at a charity shop) and I love the first two to bits. Titus Groan may be my favourite book *ever*. The third book, Titus Alone, is not so good. Readable, but I actually consider it surplus to requirements.
  21. Quantized Roguelike Chess Dancing: Crypt of the Necrodancer

I didn't know I could do that! I'm absolutely terrible at this game, and whilst watching the pros won't solve my lack of rhythm, it should give me some useful pointers. Amazing game, this, want to see more of it.
  22. Idle Digging - Shovel Knight

    (damn you, autocorrect)
  23. Idle Digging - Shovel Knight

Maybe not traps precisely, but there are plenty of scenarios where the you're leaving for across a bottomless pit and - oops! - up pops a fish to knock you in it, or - oops! - I didn't know that fan guy would appear and blow be backwards. And yeah, totally didn't realise I bought the charge attack. Had plenty cash by that point and just went on a shopping spree
  24. Idle Digging - Shovel Knight

Yes, I agree that with too much health (to be fair, you can choose to limit how much you have) the bosses are reduced to something of a slugging match. I never died to any boss in the game except polar knight, because I didn't notice that he'd uncovered some spikes on the floor. I'm almost at the end of the game, and though I'd say that I do like Shovel Knight a lot, and indeed that I love some things about it (the music, the boss designs and backdrops) there are just too many insta-kill deathtraps. Perhaps it's my memory, but I don't remember there being that many in the Mega Man games, which Shovel Knight seeks to emulate above all else. (Also, I think the game should've given me a bit more notice about the charge attack, which I didn't discover until the last couple of stages)
  25. Books, books, books...

I read Eisenhorn recently, because I wanted something dumb with guns in it, and it did not disappoint. I wouldn't recommend it though, except to dopey teenagers. And now I'm reading Small Gods, which I never even thought to read until Terry Pratchett died, but which is wonderful so far. A nice break (for me) from the more established characters of the Discworld, as well.
