Twig, dat fucking room, holy shit. I logged into a game, and after about 20 minutes we were at almost 1,000 levels. Then I looked at my friends room, and yours was already at like 4,700, so I jumped ship for it. Now it's over 10K and the first hour isn't even done. Edited to add: If anyone on Twig or I's friends lists wants to try and get into this room, just keep refreshing your friends games. The room is full, but every few minutes it seems like a few players drop out and a slot is open for a little bit.

Similar to how I treated Necrodancer, I played it for awhile and then decided to put it down until it hit version 1.

Dark Souls 3 {Dark souls 2 successor [Dark Souls successor (Demon's Souls successor)]} (Bloodborne's something)
Bjorn replied to kaputt's topic in Video Gaming
The dark ending wasn't any more final than rekindling the flame was, in fact, the dark ending might be the canon ending for 2 to exist. Refusing to kindle the flame destroyed the power of Gwyn and the old gods and heralded in the age of Dark, also known as the age of Man, that creature the gods fear above all else. Rekindling the flame just restarted the cycle with you in Gwyn's place and the old power structure intact. -
I had somehow managed to miss that Mass Effect Andromeda was finally revealed. Did they say anything about multiplayer? Did a couple of searches and didn't find anything.

Corvo grunts, confirmed! Silent Protagonist is so last decade, grunting is where it's at. He didn't say he speaks!

Halo 1 got a remastered "Anniversary" edition for the 360, so it's available, but I don't think 2 got that treatment until the X1. So if you find yourself really wanting to see the story and combat evolution, you could do that. If you're just looking for the cheapest option, probably worth keeping an eye out for it as well.

Well, I activated one of the scripts out of curiosity to see just how much it will auto-level all my shit for me.

I'm in that room with Justin, I started in another, but early on looked at the "Join Friends" listing and saw that the room Justin was in was already hundreds of levels ahead of the room I started in, so jumped ship. Glancing at the Steam subreddit yesterday, people are going nuts with the scripts, running it 24 hours straight, coordinating power up uses. There's so much damage being done per second, the servers can't even keep everyone synced up. The result is that it's amusing to watch, but it's basically impossible to interact with now as someone not running a script. This is ultimately Valve's fault though. The final badge is for breaking 300,000 levels, so of course people are optimizing the fuck out of the game as much as possible because they want that badge. Hitting 300K means clearing more than 3 levels a second. Unless (and this is very possible) some super powerups are added, like skipping 10 levels at a shot, getting to 300K is only going to be possible with coordinated scripts.

I'll admit to having some major rose colored glasses with both 2 and 3. Two is one of my favorite gaming memories ever (playing through it in a marathon pizza/soda fueled weekend visiting an old friend of mine). Reach didn't leave much of an impression on me, so you could very well be right that it's mechanically superior.

David Lynch's Josh Brolin's Campo Santo's Fire Watch With Me: A Motion Picture Event
Bjorn replied to TychoCelchuuu's topic in Video Gaming
No worries, I understood what it meant. I'm stoked that Firewatch is going to have that many more people who can play it (and that many more sales for you guys to make more great things). -
Ramsay Bolton is mostly responsible for me souring on the show. I've still watched it, but the focus they chose to give his character steadily eroded at my enthusiasm for it. And I get that they needed him in a way they didn't need some other, more interesting characters, but still, there's just nothing interesting there at all.

I'd say 3, as it and ODST are the pinnacle of the series in different ways. If you want to play more after 3, it's not that 4 or Reach are bad, but they aren't as good as 2, 3 or ODST.

I'd read similar things based on the design, but unless something else has popped up, I'm not automatically convinced. Though if that was the case, I'd agree with you. Also, there's a Dark Souls 3 statue at E3 that fountains blood. VIDEO GAMES! -

I tried to figure that out, and couldn't tell. I'm sure that they've mocked the whole console exclusivity thing in the past on the 'cast. -
Vegas 2 remains my Gold Standard for all FPS co-op games. Great campaign plus the fantastic terrorist hunt mode. I really don't think any single shooter has done as well as Vegas 2 did. We would boot it up to play for years after it was released. I really wish the PC version had split-screen built into it. We do have 2 PCs, but generally prefer couch co-op over sitting in our office except for a few games. I should play around with Sandboxie some more and see about getting two instances of a game running on the same PC. Something like Vegas 2 should be totally doable on a modern machine.

Remo wrote a thing for the Playstation Blog. My heat kinda skipped a beat when I saw "console exclusive" and then I remembered that exclusive doesn't really mean what it used to mean. -
I'm really hoping the French phrase was "Le Quiet".

Everything about that sounds wonderful! Wonderful in the sense that we're all going to discover new ways to get soldiers killed for awhile.

I just got caught up on all the news from last night. Hooooooooooly shit, all the way around. I got chills during the FF7 trailer. Like, how the fuck did that happened. I stopped caring about Final Fantasy more than a decade ago.

That looked really incredible. While watching it, it also elicited a really emotional reaction from the lady about both the kid and the catbird. I'd say one of my only worries about it is that the emotional connection will be destroyed by repeated deaths/failures. SotC avoided that because the two gut punches didn't come at all from the direction you expected.
