  2. SHOWCASE WEEKEND // Welcome Thread

Hullo all! I'll be streaming some, if not a whole bunch of Jam games tomorrow from Noon EST. twitch.tv/feeona I'm excited to see what's been created. ^0^
  3. I'd just like to leave this here: I also want to state that if the Thumbs don't wish to do this then that's totally fine, I just wanted to hear either way. Thanks!
  4. Twitchy, Tasty: Twitch Team

Hello all! When I wrote my email to Thumbs a while back I didn't realise: 1) the official name terminology for Twitch Teams. 2) That in order to create a Twitch Team you need to be a partner. The Thumbs would like the community to cultivate this and I'm totally on board for this, unfortunately since none of us are partners it's a bit of a block on the road. Right now we have a make do auto-host setup but it's more fiddly than joining a team, I also have non thumbs people I host so it gets rather confusing. Setting up a Twitch Team would allow the community to see what streams have like minded ideals, game tastes and most of all friendly and self moderating chat. @Nick Breckon @Chris @Jake Setting up is easy, have a read over and let us know if it's something that the Thumbs wish to start. We'll keep that ball rolling. Twitch.tv Twitch Teams!

I'm now hoping that since it's after the holidays we can get their sweet sweet attention.

@Problem Machine Could we do something with a google doc that you'd appoint the people streaming ability to edit the sheet so you wouldn't need to micromanage all the data? Said sheet can then be linked from the first page.

    Nah friend, SELF ADVERTISE YO.
  8. Idle Streaming Community: Twitchy, Tasty

'dis the best community. I feel sorta bad since I can't really do that because *schedule*.
  9. Idle Streaming Community: Twitchy, Tasty

Aye test it out, if you can run the game then that's a plus, the other is if your CPU can handle the stream load. Just keep an eye on your laptop tho, don't want it overheating and melting.

Great to see you in chat. So glad to be adding new people to the autohost list. :3
  11. Twitchy, Tasty: Twitch Team

Yep, that's what I'm going for with the Twitch Team and anyone in the Thumbs community can join too. The autohosting only goes so far, if you host your team it can be clicked on and you can view everyone in it as well as others online. Auto hosting feels like a one way shake of the hand, a Twitch Team feels like a full circle.

Seeeee I feel the quality from my PS4 was not as good, 720 just looked bad and that was with an Ethernet connection. I like having all the tweaks available on my PC and if I knew more about it I'd tweak more, deffo feel a capture card is the way to go for streaming console games.

That is a grand idea, the problem is that I'd have to work hard to get the word out for people in the Thumbs community to follow it so that it'd be useful. I'm going to wait back on what the Thumbs would like to do and if they choose not to make the Team then I'll go ahead with this route, thanks for the awesome suggestion!

I love it! "Troll, I want you to go suck on a dic- Ooo a Torch!"
  15. Idle Streaming Community: Twitchy, Tasty

Totally agree, I'm not sure how they want to work their brand so is why I put it out there anyway. Maybe if I keep powering on then I'll get partnership one day and thus the Thumbs Team shall live. XD

Set yourself a really low goal, (like what you do in CBT) of like one stream a week. You won't beat yourself up then if you plan three and can only do two. Any game can be fun to watch, just chat through it talk about what your thought processes are and interact with chat. If you are desperate to do it, do it. Don't set high goals, don't worry about the challenges nor keep putting it off for the perfect setup. There's still loads of things I want to do to change my setup but in time I'll get there.

It's tough to work it out with a SO. I discussed it with mine and based my schedule around when he's at work or asleep so that we still get time together and I can do my chores etc. Right now I'm not working so it's easier to do. Your snowball will still be pretty good, my pal has one and her audio quality is fine.

Can we poke the Thumbs to see t his? I'm not sure how to 'ping' people on this forum.
  19. Idle Streaming Community: Twitchy, Tasty

That's what I was meaning, XD. If the Thumbs wanted to do it they could create a team and add those Thumbs who are streamers. Idk, I thought it would be a good way to knit the community together.

I'd love for the Thumbs Team to be a thing: https://twitchtips.com/twitch-teams/ TEAM THUMBS.

Do whatever you are confident with, that's the main thing! You spoke very clearly and easily chatted to me about BoI, explaining the things you like, the mechanics and story. Everything felt very smooth and normal like you were talking to a friend so it was really enjoyable to watch.

I think your mic was fine, like the audio quality was good and your voice clear, it was just quieter than BB. Ugh right? That's the hardest part, parting with the money sucks but I guess if you enjoy it you can always save some money and think of it as your hobby, just like you'd save for any other. I don't know what your PC setup is like but perhaps it's worth it to hardcore save for a capture card? That's my next goal because I really hate streaming without the camera and at the mercy of both the PS4's speeds (connected by ethernet and still the quality is a little shitty) and audio settings.

I'm the same as you in that regards, I am a very introverted person who gets tired *extremely* quickly in social situations. I don't know why but streams just don't drain me in the same way, in a way it almost adds to my daily spoons. Oh man, you should totally go for it! I am using the streams and schedule in a way for major self care, currently going through medication and help for my Bipolar which flared up very badly this year. It forces me to get up, washed, eat and be 'ready' to be online. I'm also very very tired at the end of the night and it feels great to get some real sleep. It might be the case that doing all this including the purchase of a new setup is my mania flaring but I'll roll with it, as long as I can manage it and still have energy for life/chores/husband then I'm good. I'm here to cheer you on! THE TERROR IS REAL. And yes, the community is the best, such a healthy community with positive outlooks. I really hope to catch one of your streams live (darn other side of the world future timelines!)! Thank you for the well wishes. ^__^

Yeah, streaming is a lot more work than I think anyone expects. My first week was a trial run because you're totally right, it IS exhausting. As a person I naturally tend to talk a whole bunch with animated features so generally WYSISWG with me and thus not having to put on an extra persona let's me stream for longer without exhausting myself. Streaming now feels like something so natural to me just y'know, I had the fear because LADY ON THE WEBS.
