  1. It's on Steam as well, but it fits really well on an iPad mini.
  2. Hitman: Steve Gaynor Edition

I just worry after the complaints about Tomb Raider being a commercial failure, if they're going to just kill the content train before it really gets out of the station.
  3. Joystiq also has a lot of people on staff, I'm sure each one is probably only covering a few games in a week as well. Edit: I guess what I'm trying to say is that I think it's more the shift to longform video that's starting to limit the coverage of games, regardless whether it;s YouTube or Giant Bomb.
  4. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

It's more or less become the new Godwin's Law.
  5. Intoxicated:

For a couple of yearly parties we have with friends with Mexican ancestry, my former roommate would buy a nice 100% agave silver tequila and soak a pepper in it for a week (usually tied in cheese cloth just in case it fell apart when he removed it.) He went for Habenjero and later Ghost Pepper, but he's also insane. Then we'd take it over and the hosts would use it to make Grapefruit Margaritas, ending in an amazing blend of cool and refreshing with just a hint of heat.
  6. QUILTBAG Thread of Flagrant Homoeroticism

Oh, there will be years of lawsuits over this probably. But it's a big step.
  7. These days things pretty much only fit in one place. The motherboard comes with a manual that has labels on all the ports. The only thing that can sometimes get a bit tricky are the small 4 and 6 pin power connectors that go to things like video cards.
  8. Batmazement: Knightly Man Bruce

Care to spoil? I don't think I'm going to pick this one up.
  9. Last Guardian was mentioned for a few minutes on the cast, so I'm going run with it and maybe it will provide some discussion for next week's show. I never remember seeing Last Guardian when it was first shown at E3. I'm aware that it essentially has become the next Duke Nukem Forever at this point, so I kinda get the anticipation, even if I'm not familiar with the actual game myself. I didn't think the video at the Sony presser looked very good graphics-wise, and not particular great gameplay-wise either. For those people who have been looking forward to it for a while, did the video meet your expectations? Is there a particular thing you did or didn't see in the video that you were looking forward to? What was so special about the original announcement?
  10. When's the last time you tried? EU4 and CK2 have had much more stable multiplayer since around 6 months ago (though EU4 seems to work better for some reason.)
  11. Intoxicated:

Nice, I'll have to pocket those recommendations myself as it sounds like we have similar tastes.
  12. : ( I remember having a similar feeling as my last forum slowly died.
  13. Intoxicated:

I don't recognize a ton on that list, but Dogfish 120 minute IPA will put you on the floor real fast.
  14. What can you tell me about Seattle?

Generally they want you to make three times your rent around here, but yeah it's pretty crazy. With the rule that I didn't want to share a floor/ceiling with anyone, we searched all over the place a year ago for anything with somewhat easy bus access to downtown where I work. The cheapest (that wasn't a total dump) we found was a 2 bed rental in a pretty nice triplex in Renton for $1200. We decided to pay the extra to live in a nicer location on a better bus route, which ranged between $1400 and $1700. We went for $1650 as that place had been recently renovated and had brand new insulation in the walls that really reduces sound, as well as a nice glass top stove in the kitchen. Then the rent went up in May and we're sitting at $1750.
  15. E3 2015

Sony did announce quite a few things that are a ways away and can't (or at least shouldn't) be pre-ordered yet. Twitter mentions could just as easily be mocking as praising, though I suppose you could go with "any publicity is good publicity." Regardless, I'll stick with "everyone won E3." I'm so excited.
  16. What can you tell me about Seattle?

Random internet search, but http://www.payscale.com/cost-of-living-calculator/Washington-Seattle shows that Seattle runs fairly close to average on a lot of things, but 57% above average on housing. That seems to be pretty close to my experience. If you manage to find a good deal on a house or apartment, the rest of it isn't so bad. Edit: http://blogs.seattletimes.com/fyi-guy/2012/11/12/is-seattle-one-of-the-most-expensive-cities-in-the-u-s/
  17. I'm starting to wonder if some of the crashing problems I have are related to that, so that's a good point.
  18. I'll admit that half the reason I want AMD is just because that's what I have now and I wouldn't have to fight with driver reinstalls to switch it out. I was thinking getting an AMD 390x or a 390 plain, which appear to be roughly equivelent to an Nvidia 980 plain, so that's good at least.
  19. What can you tell me about Seattle?

Thankfully wages in the area tend to somewhat match the expensive cost of living, but yeah it's pretty up there.
  20. Hmm, time to start doing the video card dance again. I want to get something Occulus Rift capable at the minimum. Has anyone seen any reliable benchmarks on the newest AMD cards? I found a lot of articles but most of them were referencing the AMD's own benchmarks, rather than doing testing themselves.
  21. What can you tell me about Seattle?

Would that be the Bremerton naval base? Close to downtown Seattle is nice if you want to hit the ferry over there, otherwise looking down toward Tacoma will make the drive shorter.
  22. I'm literally 4 set-piece fights in or so. In the end, I don't play my consoles much anymore, and if I am down in front of my TV, I'd rather be playing Assassin's Creed Black Flag.
  23. What can you tell me about Seattle?

Oh yeah, Ballard is really nice. I don't get up there often so I don't think of it much. Probably the best area to live that's still in the city, that and maybe West Seattle.
  24. What can you tell me about Seattle?

The housing/apartment market around here is pretty crazy these days. I live an hour bus ride out of town and still pay $1750 for a small two bedroom townhouse. Finding a place to live in-town will be hard, and I don't have a lot of advice but, if she's willing to commute, I love the east side up the I-405 corridor. I'm in northern Kirkland right now and have easy access to state route 520 to get into Seattle. The Renton area near the south end of 405 is cheaper, but bus access from there is kind lousy and it has a bit of a bad reputation, somewhat earned. Everett up north on I-5 is also nice, but the commute from there can be pretty lousy with traffic. Job Market around here is pretty brisk right now actually. Lots of tech companies, but even the non-tech companies are pretty technically inclined. It's important to have a good Linkedin profile. A lot of job hunting goes on using the web. As for meeting new people, Capitol hill is the diversity center, lots of LGBTQ stuff around there and tons of quirky little places to go and see. Tourist center is more toward Pike Place Market, which is also the area I work in. There's a bunch of good stuff in that area if you know where to look. The Pioneer square and stadium area are on the upswing, but are still pretty scuzzy in my opinion. Belltown is a bit north of Pike Place and has a bad reputation that I've never seen any evidence of in person, but there's a variety of different places there. Up north of the locks there's Freemont which is where a lot of the indie music scene is centered if she's into that. And of course there's the U-District which has the pluses and minuses of any college town. Let me know if you have any specific questions. I've lived in Washington my whole life and the Seattle area for 10 years.
  25. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

I have that halo Of course I barely play TF2, but it's fun to have lying around.
