  1. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I loved Saint's Row the Third, but Saints Row 4 just never did it for me. I must be one of the few people who liked driving in those games, and I was really bummed that they basically made it useless past the first couple of hours. Jumping around like an idiot isn't really how I wanted to spend that game.
  2. Banished - The Indie City Simulator

Hmm, any newer videos? I remember liking the look of this but not feeling like it had enough depth at the time. Edit: There's some stuff on the steam page, not sure if I've seen it before or not. http://store.steampowered.com/app/242920/
  3. Titanfall

Destroying the dropship takes around four titans pounding on it from the moment it comes in. People on foot can help with their anti-titan weapons as well. If you're thinking about purchasing, check this link for a 20% off purchase through Gamefly: http://www.gamebreaker.tv/deals/titanfalls-pc-preorder-shows-20/
  4. Titanfall

I'm liking Titanfall a little more now, it's still really frantic, but I have a better idea where to stand to not get rocked all the time.
  5. I went back again and basically punched everyone in the face that had wronged me before and now have managed to form Scandinavia. I didn't really want Norway and Sweden, but i didn't see any way to keep them off my back besides annexing them. I did get to do what I wanted to do, and was the second country to colonize the new world in 1496, just behind Portugal. It's basically Portugal, Castile, and I sparking multiple wars over colonial rights for the last 50 years or so. I like the game a lot when it goes well, but when it goes badly there's no way to really recover, it's merciless.
  6. Titanfall

I'm with you on this. I'm hoping it's just because everyone else on there has had a lot more experience, but before I can figure out how to get onto a roof, someone has stabbed me from behind.
  7. Amateur Game Making Night

I'm building an economy of trading between planets, and to keep things sensible I wanted to first do all of the production on all planets, then do all the trading on all planets, then do the expending of supplies on all planets. This keeps silly things from happening such as a planet that's running at a deficit not being able to expend anything (since stock is at zero) and screaming shortage, but then receiving supplies after the fact (thus showing having a shortage even though they have stock) or having a planet not ship anything out because stores are empty, only to produce a bunch later and have spare supplies on hand that didn't ship.

So, is there an earlyupdate type thing that's the opposite of lateupdate?
  9. Ug, I was playing Denmark for 6 hours, not really managing to make a whole lot of progress, but at least holding steady. Then suddenly Sweden sues for independence. I give it to them, because I'm not really interested in the Sweden/Norway thing anyway. Then they proceed to repeatedly declare war on me and beat me down. This last war, it wouldn't even let me surrender if I picked every thumbs up thing on the list, so I finally just quit. Now I'm torn between wanting to get back in there and get some revenge and hating myself for blowing 6 hours on it and never wanting to play it again.
  10. Titanfall

Turning someone's head around 180 so you're staring into their eyes is a bit wierd.
  11. The IT Curated Steam Tag List

I guess they think as more people get involved, the people who want to tag things for real will outnumber those who want to vandalize? I mean look at Wikipedia. There's some crazy people policing over there.
  12. EVE Online

The occasional Kite Co. talk has me interested in coming back into EVE again. Last I played I was mostly a carebear with some wormholing experience here and there.
  13. Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight 2014

The games two of those are pretty much the ones I'm least interested in. I hope Steed is good.
  14. Games development discussion forum?

Years back on the PA forums, they had megathreads for each of the major systems which basically wandered around between different gaming topics and also many non-gaming topics. Eventually, they were outlawed and each different game was supposed to create their own thread. This ended up with a ton of threads with 5-10 posts in them, and then one or two larger threads for the multiplayer games of the moment. I had a lot more fun posting in one miandering thread personally, and none of the other threads ever captured the same conversation magic that the megathreads did.
  15. Titanfall

Yeah, but then I'm playing against other people with mouse and keyboard who can generally aim better than I. I didn't say I was good with the controller, just that I like it better. Edit: I actually do play with my 360 controller on a lot of games. I actually fly planes with it in BF4, but I'm under no illusion that I can stand up to M/KB FPS players using one.
  16. So, I've seen a couple of objective reviews posted around the web but I had no idea that this was hatched by someone around here. Now that I know (at least via internet) the creator, I just wanted to say
  17. Rust: It puts the lotion on its skin

Sounds like you won the game Tundra.
  18. Titanfall

I have a new computer so I definitely could, I'm just one of those people who like playing FPSs with a controller.
  19. Titanfall

I didn't think anything in there was particularly troubling, but I guess it's a matter of opinion. Also, GB mentioned that they promised that they're not going to be doing microtransactions, just map packs. They specifically called out no paying for burn cards, which is nice.
  20. Titanfall

I've been really excited for Titanfall since it was announced. The GB coverage only has me more interested. The only question for me at the moment is whether it's time to buy an Xbox One. I originally said that I would buy one when Titanfall came out, but I dunno if I really want one anymore.
  21. Amateur Game Making Night

I think i just finally made the breakthrough that makes all the sharing values between different objects in unity make sense. I somehow missed that the scripts you attach to an object are considered to be components of that object. So where before I was trying to do Object.Variable to pull in a public value, I actually needed to take Object.GetComponent<Script>() first, and then do Script.Variable. I'm sure it's simple to a lot of folks, but it was an epiphany for me.
  22. Games development discussion forum?

We discussed it in one of those threads and I think the general thought was to make sure that this thing has legs before we split off a new section. It's easy enough to move threads to a new section and start new threads there, but much harder to take a forum section and then collapse it back to threads. Though there are forum sections out there that don't get a lot of use as it is, and having a section created means we could hide it behind the registration wall to reduce the number of folks coming in and stealing ideas I guess?
  23. Amateur Game Making Night

Fixed update runs at 60 frames a second regardless of actual graphics frame rate right?
  24. Amateur Game Making Night

Gotta fix the dust kicking up in mid air
  25. Rust: It puts the lotion on its skin

Oh man, that top story is classic.
