Yay! I'm glad you were able to hold out.

I didn't say that he was the only person capable of editorial content, I just said he's the only one writting articles. Like I said, I wish they'd talk about it on the Bombcast, which gets a lot more traffic than a Jar Time would (since those are premium only.)

Nice, that's pretty close to my PC stats and I have a controller as well.

Hmm, how's the PC work on the new Tomb Raider. My wife bought it on Xbox 360, but for only $4 it might be worth it to just get the PC version.

To be fair, Patrick is pretty much the only person doing non-review writting for the website, so he'd be the one I'd expect to write an article on it. I do wish they'd talk about it more on the Bombcast, instead of just Bombing in the AM.

I thought the Escapist changed their policies due to GG to disallow those contributions?

In that case it's all about awareness. Even reminding people that there's a vote coming up can do some good. We recieve our ballots in the mail and I still forget sometimes.

I hope they made enough money to make another game.

It's not really hard. It doesn't make you use all the real gears or anything.

Oh, thanks for linking that. I forgot to watch the stream.

Last night I streamed a couple hours (my first time) of post storyline play in Mordor. I went back to the starter area and then advanced time repeatedly until all the holes in the Nemesis screen were full. This gave me a variety of Uruks from level 5 to level 20. Then I just ran around grabbing collectibles and getting into fights when they came to me. I had a lot of fun, even died a few times and made a few rivals. I ended up with about half the Uruks dead again, so tonight I might sit down and do the same thing again.

Well, if you installed from the DVDs you wouldn't need to wait for 50gb to download.

More and more employers are changing over to the Health Care Savings account thing with high deductible insurance. I've been able to avoid it so far, but they're insentivising it a lot around here.

So, we had our first Halloween movie party this weekend and watched the 1931 Dracula, followed by Dracula: Dead and Loving It. I never realized how much the performances in Dead and Loving It were influenced by the original. Leslie Nielsen's and Peter MacNicol's performances were word-for-word at times, along with a good portion of the camera work. I'm super happy we watched them back to back like that.

Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

It does better when playing it on high difficulties with friends. The few times I've gotten to play it that way, it was a blast. Otherwise, I get right where you're coming from. -
Maker's 76 is usually only a couple bucks more expensive than regular makers, and much better tasting. The local place I love to go makes all theirs with Bulleit Burbon, and for a different sweet-ish tinge I like to go for Bulleit Rye on occasion. Edit: And if you want to knock your socks off, Bookers. Edit 2: Can you tell manhattans are one of my passions?
-
Those are pretty good bitters. I have some around for when I'm brave enough to make manhattans myself. The key to vermouth is that there are a lot of varieties of it, not just the two or three they sell in an average liquor store (at leas in washington state.) I recommend this: http://www.specialitybrands.com/brands/antica-formula-vermouth Edit: And remember, only a drop or two of the bitters. Those, in particular, are pretty strong.

Can't you pull them up and spin them around later to hear it again?

I wasn't going to draw that parallel, but it did come to mind.

First off I say that I feel that way because that's the impression that I get from reading more articles today (mainly some of those Forbes ones.) I don't really have a ton of facts to back it up, but I'll do my best. I don't feel like too many people here are fighting about it anymore. There have been quite a few posts of people who have commented that they don't engage on twitter or other social media about it anymore. We're certainly having a great discussion here, but this isn't really what I think of by people "fighting." As time grinds on, more reports of GGers getting harassed are coming out. While I'm sure that some of it is made up and none of it is as severe as that which Zoe and Anita have run into, it's still quite believable. I choose to believe that it's because the more reasonable folks are leaving the discussion, leaving the more abrassive ones to continue to argue.
-
It feels like the only people really left in this argument are the people on both sides who just really like arguing. Things feel like they're getting pretty nasty on the anti-GG side to match the nasty that was already there on the GG side.

I find a proper amount of alcohol (a single manhattan usually) helps me relax and get more sleep when I'm sick, without completely destroying my immune system.

Yeah, but all someone has to do is hack that website to send out millions of tweets at once. Even if I authorize a game to tweet for me (which I don't) the copy of the game on my machine (except MMOs I guess) would have to be hacked to then send as me. Who's going to go to all that work for one tweet. I don't mind services that want to read my information, because Google has everything already, but sending things as me? No thanks. Regarding the other three recent posts, I don't understand what's even going on there. Where are those quotes coming from? What happened to GaymerX? Edit: Hmm, only mention I can find is in this, somewhat questionable, Forbes article. http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2014/10/09/gamergate-is-not-a-hate-group-its-a-consumer-movement/

I can't believe that anyone would sign up to let something like that tweet for you. That's just asking to be hacked.
