Hey, thanks for sharing your story. I think I've seen you around the internet here and there and we've possibly conversed before somewhere, but I guess you're new here so welcome to the forums.

I know right? It's a pretty bizarre (and amazing in a way) thing that Tetris, Flower and DayZ are all under the same header of "video game". It's a taxonomist's nightmare . Yeah a lot of the "it's not a real game" sentiment is I think perpetuated by people who only look at games as being one narrow thing, and feel as though other varieties of game are impostors, or leaching off of the perceived prestige of the "game" category.

Are you talking about Far Cry or Firewatch? Confused.

Yeah, it should be! But for some reason it took me a while to get the connection. Maybe it's because through hearing it so commonly, the name BigDog has for me become completely divorced from its component words and now just its own thing entirely. I no longer hear dog at all when I hear BigDog, so making the connection took an extra mental leap. Isn't that weird? I guess the same thing happens with the word watchdogs.

I had no idea that posters were made for the live shows. Man, that typography. And that phaedrus bigdog. And that puffin wizard. These are incredible. Like, seriously top notch. Edit: I just realised that the bigdog sitting by the phonograph is a reference to His Master's Voice. Top notch indeed.

Maaaan I forgot how good this was. The editing back then was pretty hilarious. The part at around 2:18 was so perfect.

Ahh I used to read this back when I was doing my dissertation at university. For some reason haven't gone back to it since. Seeing that web page brought back some memories. I should start reading again.

This guy makes some neat videos with really nice presentation.

You can clearly tell he's attempting to spin the blame onto the civilians and at one point the guy being interviewed. What a world we live in.

I really enjoyed when you guys did that for the Ruinationcast. I would definitely tune in.

Ughhhh I forgot that game was a thing. With all of the recent events, its existence strikes me as even more tasteless.

Well that's entirely terrifying. Thanks for the explanation. The reports I've read about the way police have been acting throughout all of this has been reminding me of Zimbardo's Stanford Prison Experiment.

I've been following this on and off recently. I'm not familiar with how things are in the US so please forgive my ignorance; but one thing I don't understand fully is how and why the police is so militarised. Is what we're seeing in Ferguson an anomaly, or has this stuff been silently ramping up on a national level?

Yeah, I figured it out eventually. I suspected that it was a loophole to get around Bandcamp limiting track previews to albums which are "released". Don't know if that's the case but it would make sense if it were.

Yep, it's pretty frustrating. Still, I guess nothing has been confirmed either way, so for all we know they could be totally redoing the pricing for 5, making the pro features more easily accessible. Wishful thinking, I know
