Update on this: they passed their goal and now they're less than $2k short of their current final stretch goal. However, it seems that this is going to work the same way that the Unico Kickstarter did. After they topped out all of their Unico goals, they made a new goal of raising enough money to publish Atomcat, and then Triton of the Sea when they reached that. Hopefully they'll get to do the same thing this time.

I would be very, very surprised if there weren't a new Custom Robo game in the works since that game is absolutely perfect for NFC figures.

I realize that Steam is pretty much an objectively positive thing for everyone involved in games overall, but gamifying shopping is one of the squickiest things to me.

He's in Smash as an alt costume for the female Wii Fit Trainer. Maybe they could collectively have a gender-neutral name. Like Ashley or something. The third Phoenix Wright game included this line: ...Referring to a much older dance than the more well-known one. Note that this game was released in 2007 and that this case takes place in 2013. There's a bunch of stupid memes in these games, but this is probably the only one they ever included by accident.

So the new legendary forms are called Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon, and change form through "Primal Reversion." Primal Groudon is now Ground/Fire and has a boosted Attack stat, while Primal Kyogre remains pure water and gains a boosted Special Attack, thus securing Kyogre's position as being drastically superior to Groudon for some reason. It looks like both probably have new abilities, but they haven't revealed what they are yet. I'm gonna' guess... Dry Skin for Kyogre and a new sunshine-based equivalent for Groudon. Or two new abilities. Whatever.

More info on Mega Sableye. Looks like it's getting all of its stat boosts dumped into Defense and Sp. Defense, with its speed being lowered in turn. It also gets Magic Bounce, one of the best abilities in the game. Rad.

The secret of Kingdom Hearts is that it very quickly stopped being about either Disney or Final Fantasy and became about bullshit anime characters who all wear identical black robes. And it actually makes even less sense now. (I secretly hope that Disney and Square Enix both start dumping their more recently acquired properties into the next KH and we get to see the Guybrush Threepwood, Deadpool, and Lara Croft team-up we've all been waiting for)

From what I can tell, neither Godzilla nor Hausu are on Hulu Plus, despite being the two objectively best Criterion films.

I beat Little Inferno. I heard that this video breakdown of it was really good, then remembered "oh yeah, I have that and never played it," so I powered through it in one sitting. The guy pretty much nails my thoughts. Also, I burned the hug coupon even though my brain kept telling me it would almost certainly trigger something later.

So you may or may not be familiar with the 4th printing variant cover for Sex Criminals #1, featuring Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky. Well a while back, two comic store employees and fans made a riff on it and sent it to them. who, in turn, printed it out and sent it back to them who, in turn, did it again. Anyway, this just recently reached its logical conclusion.

Has anyone ever noticed that Phil Fish uses a picture of Andy Kaufman as his Twitter avatar? Increasingly as time passes, I kind of suspect that his entire presence in the games industry has been one elaborate prank. Side note on Youtube and gaming: remember how Reggie said last week that Nintendo has no plans to allow Wii U streaming because they think that just watching a game would be boring? .

Isn't Amanda Waller thin in that now too? Being fat made her as physically imposing, which worked perfectly with her being one of the few completely normal people in the DCU who still pose a threat to most of its characters.

It's pretty weird to think back and realize that Mario 64 opened with an explanation of then-unheard of camera controls rather than the ridiculously huge moveset Mario had in that game.
