I just realized something about all the recent Twitch problems. Both Microsoft (Xbox, broadcast) and Sony (Share button) have made a really big deal out of integrating Twitch into their systems, while Nintendo specifically avoided it.

So I've been taking a break from the shiny hunt to raise the shinies that I already have (and finally become Grand Duchess of the Battle Chateau in the process), but after Scolipede I'm thinking of trying to breed a shiny female Combee. Please talk me down from the brink of insanity.

I have nothing of value to contribute, but I personally consider it the greatest tragedy of our time that Duelin' Firemen for the 3DO was never released. I love how the footage includes both an airplane and the fucking Space Shuttle Columbia crashing into a New York skyscraper. It's two sad ironic predictions for the price of one!

Is Pokémon one of the seven beloved franchises that need to be MOBAs? Because I would totally play a Pokémon Lords Management game.

Even though it's pretty much the second-best of those movies, there's a couple of things about Aliens that really irk me. Namely James Cameron's response to HR Giger, who considered the Xenomorph and his designwork on Alien to be his "baby." The little "by the way, Poltergeist 2 sucked" at the end there is just the icing on the "fuck you" cake. Also, I always feel weird about actors being cast as a different race, and Vasquez is exactly that.

That Feebas I hatched yesterday is a level 100 EV-trained Milotic now. I'm pretty pleased. EDIT: it's beautiful.

I think it's safe to assume that IVs and EVs started off as a way to give any given Pokémon a unique flair, but that Game Freak has grown to accept the fact that players intentionally manipulate them. IV breeding got easier than ever in Gen VI and EV training is more or less completely transparent now. It's not like Game Freak hasn't encouraged customizing Pokémon since breeding was first introduced, what with Egg Moves being there from the start. It's worth noting too that you can't actually check IVs until after you've beaten the Elite Four, which seems like the way to do it. Just play the game for fun and worry about the competitive stuff later.

Going for Scolipede now, which is a multi-step process. 1) breed perfect male Beedrill, raise it and teach it Toxic Spikes (check) 2) breed perfect Jolly female Venipede with Speed Boost (nearly there) 3) breed Beedrill and Venipede to get perfect Jolly female Venipede with Speed Boost and Toxic Spikes (hoo boy) 4) breed Ditto with Venipede; pray that the eventual shiny offspring gets Speed Boost and good IVs I'm gonna be playing this one safe by levelling up that last Venipede a bunch to make absolutely certain that Toxic Spikes doesn't get overwritten with something else while it's in the Day Care, because I just know I would totally do that by accident.

You should clean up that stuff in the bedroom and take another picture. It makes the space look smaller and makes you seem less desirable as a roommate. Just sayin'.

The only reason I'm not more terrified of that sign is because a local security firm already cornered the market on being incredibly creepy.

The Blu-Ray set is called the Alien Anthology, which is slightly saddening.

You can pass down 5 out of 6 IVs using the Destiny Knot, and I have a 6IV Japanese Ditto. By swapping the other parent out as I get kids who have inherited more of the Dittos IVs, I can eventually get a 6IV parent to breed with (I get it to hold the an Everstone once I have the Nature I want). After that any babies I hatch will have a 1/32 chance of having perfect IVs, so I just keep going until I get a shiny. The Feebas definitely pushed me, but I've had good luck with the time it took to hatch my other shinies since I have the Oval and Shiny Charms, I'm using the Masuda Method, etc. I basically have everything running as efficiently as possible and play on autopilot while I do other things.

Update: After another 1000+ eggs, I FINALLY hatched a good Shiny Feebas. It has 31 in every stat except Speed, which is still fairly high. To give you an impression of just how long I was breeding one single Feebas...

Corocoro leaks! New Megas! Mega Altaria: Dragon/Fairy with Pixilate. Mega Lopunny: Normal/Fighting with Scrappy, Lopunny now learns Hi Jump Kick as well. This seems like it was deliberately designed to counter Aegislash. Mega Salamence: Seemingly still Dragon/Flying, but now with Aerilate. also new: the five "cosplay Pikachu" forms they've been showing off allow Pikachu to learn new moves: Pikachu Rock Star gets Meteor Mash, Pikachu Ph.D. gets Electric Terrain, Pikachu Pop Star gets Draining Kiss, Pikachu Belle gets Icicle Crash, and Pikachu Libre gets Flying Press. Pikachu Libre remains best Pikachu. Also, a shiny Beldum holding Metagross' mega stone will be distributed like Torchic was for X/Y.

It bothers me that that graph never actually uses the lowest value in the key. This probably isn't my place to say, but I feel like you should probably tell that kid that sexual assault jokes are usually not okay.

I always thought it was an urban legend, but today I learned that the skeletons used during the ending of the still fantastic Poltergeist are indeed real. They were used because they were cheaper than buying model skeletons, which is hilarious to me since the whole deal with that movie is that whatshisface was disrespecting the dead for the sake of saving money.
