There's a 3DS/Wii U Nintendo Direct on Wednesday at 6am Pacific for Japan and America. It also seems likely that Gamestop is going to start taking pre-orders on the new 3DS around the same time and that it will release February 13th. I figure we're likely to also see details on Majora's Mask 3D and the Hoopa distribution event for Pokémon ORAS, since we know those are both coming up really soon.

Pretty sure the New 3DS Ambassador program is different from the 3DS Ambassador program (where you got a bunch of GBA and NES games) and they just stupidly picked the same name to use.

I got caught up on Adventure Time last night, and it turns out there was an episode from November that has a Gamergate joke in it. Not that Gamergate, though. The other Gamergate. There's a metaphor in there for something, but hell if I know what it is. (incidentally, the episode was written way back in something like May and this was just an unfortunate coincidence)

Oh man, Chris, did the History Channel promo reel include the Ancient Aliens guy? I can't believe there's seven goddamn seasons of that shit. My last job had a TV in the breakroom that was almost always set to Discovery. It was my first time watching TV in something like seven or eight years, so it was really surreal seeing that Discovery is now apparently nothing but "check out this unusually shitty blue collar job" shows and shows where people buy and sell garbage. I changed my internet plan a few months back and as part of getting the cheapest possible deal I had to take satellite TV service too. It was pretty hilarious to see that the History Channel now apparently has a spinoff channel called H2, which I imagine is the MTV-MTV2 relationship where a second channel had to be made to fulfill the original programming goals after the first channel got sidetracked into filling its schedule with unrelated crap.

I've found recently that a lot of people I encounter online who viciously defend free speech (almost always for purposes of defending gamergate et al) don't usually realize that the reason freedom of speech is so important is because of the immense power that words can have and instead choose to wield them like a kid who found his dad's gun. If you hurt someone and the strongest defense you can make for your actions is to say that they technically weren't illegal, you're probably an asshole.
