I've been having a hard time finding a copy of "At The Mountains Of Madness" outside of digital copies this week, and it reminded me that I'm still intrigued by the idea of getting one of these. You might say it re-Kindled my interest.

I somehow always avoided whatever reading group read Hatchet each year in school, but we totally read Island of the Blue Dolphins. My dad and brother loved The Hardy Boys but I never got into them. I read one or two of the Boxcar Children books and some Gordan Korman stuff around that age, though.

The lack of mp3/CD/media server support is baffling. I use that stuff constantly.

There is indeed a Pokédex app. It looks like it's more or less the same as the 3DS app, and I'm pretty sure neither of them have been updated to include Kalos-region Pokémon. My guess is that they want to wait a little bit longer so they can reveal the inevitable event-exclusive legendary Pokémon before releasing a dex.

I wouldn't worry about it so much. I don't pay much attention to IV and EV stuff and I still have a lot of fun battling. I got the strategy guide today. It's got lots of useful info like complete egg group tables for breeding and such, but I'm disappointed that it doesn't have a Pokédex like previous guides. They'll probably sell a seperate, complete dex at some point like they started doing with Black and White.

Oh man. I woke up early and spent six and a half hours waiting for the mail today because I knew I had two packages heading my way. I took a five minute break around four o'clock and ended up almost missing the deliveryman. Lucky! For those curious, they were a Pokémon strategy guide that I had preordered a while back and a plushie that SecretAsianMan sent me for my b-day next week. I drew an AR marker and used my 3DS so I could take a picture of big Sewaddle hangin' out with little Sewaddle.

This is one of the key reasons why I still want a Vita. It's a shame it has to share a release date with so many huge releases though (namely the Xbox one, Mario 3D World, and Zelda).

I wanna' pick this up ASAP. I really wish they made more of an effort to make the non-court sections of these games less insufferable though.

It baffles me how protective people are of a franchise that was literally designed to be the stupidest thing ever.

Super Mario 3D World, Zelda, and the Xbox one all launch on the same day. ...The same day that Tearaway comes out. Poor Vita just can't catch a break.

I feel terrible for Espurr. From the Pokédex: It looks like that because it's constantly trying to keep itself from murdering everyone.

Edna's married to Ned now. She's the Simpsons' nextdoor neighbour. She's still minor, but surprisingly a lot less minor than she used to be. I agree that it'll take the death of someone more prominent to end the show though. Harry Shearer's like seventy now.

Holy shit; Marcia Wallace died. Apparently they're retiring Mrs. Krabappel as a result. I've always subscribed to the "The Simpsons will end when a major voice actor dies" theory, so maybe this is it.

So today I went to the comic shop and bought a very small comic, used for 50 cents. When I got home and opened it up, I discovered a tiny envelope was inside. It's only a little bigger than a business card and sealed. MYSTERY.

Pokémon X and Y aren't out for another two weeks, but I thought I would pretend other Thumbs listeners care get a head start and make a multiplayer Pokémon matchup thread, for trading and battling shenanigans. Possibly we can organize some kind of league thing if enough people show interest. Right now I'm actually trying to fill as much of the Pokédex as I can before X and Y hit so that I can have a complete archive of all Pokémon available in Pokémo Bank. I'm going to get that damned certificate this time. I've got Diamond, HeartGold, Black 1 and 2, and all of the GBA games available to me, but I'm trying to get as much done through Black 2 and HeartGold as I can since Black 2 is the one I'm using for the Bank transfer. They're glossy red or blue with a metallic silver Xerneas and gloss black Yveltal screenprinted on them. They look really nice and they're not nearly as limited as the Pikachu 3DS was, so if you were waiting for X/Y before picking up a 3DS, this is a good choice. -The Pokémon Global Link will be closed for maintenance throughout half of October and then phased out for an updated X and Y equivalent soon after. Details here. If you want Dream World Pokémon, now's the time.

dude I was just lying in bed thinking about stuff and only just now realized how hilarious it is that a recent episode of Adventure Time revealed that Finn is partially colourblind but that Jake the fucking DOG isn't.

I feel like that would be entirely too many superhero comics in the long run. I'd be comfortable with including superheroes in thematically appropriate genre selections though. Like if this were a tagging system or something I'd put Zot! under action, sci-fi, romance, slice-of-life and LGBT.

This is a stupid thing to point out but the fact that audiblepodcast.com/wizard was plugged in reference to a book series about an actual fucking wizard just slayed me.

I hope that the next cast has spooky Halloween names. You can call yourselfes Chris Screamo, Jake O'Lantern, Neck Breakin', and Sean Vampireman.

The update patch is available in the eShop! No more save bug. Also, turns out Cafe Le Wow is the best way to make money. It costs 100,000 to participate but it doesn't take long and the rewards are massive.
