Pokédex canon is all kinds of weird and nobody takes it seriously. Even the anime ignores it completely. Most Pokémon are listed as being much smaller than you'd expect (I'm taller than Charizard, for instance), weights never make any goddamned sense (Wailmer is, when you take its huge size into consideration, lighter than air), and innate characteristics are always cranked up to beyond the impossible (Magcargo is supposed to be hotter than the surface of the sun). I prefer to imagine that Regigigas, which is heavily implied to have been built by humans and used for things like moving continents around, would be much larger than the twelve feet it's supposed to be.

I love both of those. I even have Redline on Blu-Ray.

Do you guys remember how there was supposed to be a Call of Duty CCG at some point? I only found out about it by listening to some old Bombcasts. It was announced in 2008 and never released, and it was played in real time. As in, you basically fucking throw cards at each other until someone yells "pause" and you figure out what the hell just happened. This is the only evidence of how it actually looked and played that I can find, and just watching it makes me think of Bulletball guy.

Oh shit, I haven't seen that in years. It definitely makes me cry though.

Update before bedtime! Honestly I'm not liking the leg sculpting do far. I might redo that all later. I'm running out of pieces to make the arms, toe. I need more ball and socket components and more 2x1 bricks with axle holes in them. Those things are the cornerstone of this stupid robot. A couple of new features: ROBODONG Thought I'd give it a little chest insignia for flavour. Also, in case anyone's looking for a better sense of scale, right now the robot's about 30cm/12in tall. And I still haven't even started the head, sooooo...

Yeah, I needed to mess around in my settings for a bit to get it to work that way, but I've never looked back.

The Wii remote is actually sealed shut from the acid.

CHECK OUT THESE SWEET NEW SHOES They're only held in place by a single ball joint, which I'm not so comfortable with. I'm going to try to build the area around the ankle extra-sturdy and maybe pick up another set of those friction cups. The toe and heel both have a surprisingly high degree of freedom, though.

ROBOT UPDATE: bought some new Lego on sale today, including one of those big Hero Factory style Chima sets with high-friction ball socket extenders, which I'm using for the shoulders. I've added a ton of plates to flesh it out and get a general feel for the anatomy and construction. Unfortunately I can't find more than one red 4x4 curve or a full set of eight 3x1 curved slopes in any colour in my collection right now, so just pretend it's partially unpainted or something. I still might change colouring around in places too, and I need to tighten up the front a little so it doesn't have a massive robocrotch. Also, it's affixed to a stand here by temporary feet just so I can show off its range of motion. I'm still thinking about how to do the final feet, though I'm starting to get some ideas. Right now you can see how the legs bendand how the chest will actually pivot around the stomach by about 30 degrees in each direction.

I know. This is just a test of the hips and torso so far. Those are just placeholders so I could see how it look standing up. The actual feet are gonna' be a lot more complex.

holy living fuck guess I have to finish both those games now -
I've kind of always had the impression that the partner in question doesn't like me, and lately that the friend just sort of tolerates me. Outside of text, where I always say more than I should, I have a really hard time expressing myself. I feel like I come across as being stupid, and I know from experience that people tend to think I'm emotionless and monotone. I've started to have weird headaches and short, sharp bursts of emotion. It's really starting to scare me.

I felt really nervous about visiting my friend and his partner earlier today, and once I actually got there I felt like a terrible fifth wheel. I almost started crying on the way home. Why am I so bad at socializing? Bonus: I found out while packing up the Wii U for the visit that the batteries inside of my original Wii remote leaked acid at some point so now I need a new one of those I guess.

It's on the Wii VC, so it's at least playable on the Wii U, but I'm not really sure why they didn't take the opportunity to release it on the Wii U eshop. I'd say they didn't want to risk cannibalizing sales, but they also discounted 3 Zelda games on the 3DS eshop sooooo...

What type of projector was it again? I ask because a lot of the TVs (and presumably projectors) that Sony sells now recognize the PS3. When I turn my PS3 on, my TV automatically boots and switches to HDMI1, which sounds like it would automate a lot of that on its own.

I have a Wacom Connect and it's really quite nice, especially considering how inexpensive it is. Worst thing: I've often dreamed of upgrading to something like a Cintiq with a screen, partially to draw but mostly because it's the ideal way to play Osu, the fanmade Elite Beat Agents clone

RIGHT AFTER writing this post I had to do a tablet-only level. The microphone stuff works perfectly and is pretty non-intrusive, but using standard controls to move while also having to touch shit to make it turn into platforms gets really clunky.
-
I've been using a Pro Controller that I just picked up today (which feels absolutely fantastic). In the one stage where I've been required to use the tablet (one of the optional Captain Toad stages), I haven't had any complaints. It uses the gyroscope for when you need nuanced camera control, and you sometimes need to use the mic for small stage gimmicks. Also, you can do the thing 3D Land did where you blow into the mic and it blows the scattered dandelions in the stage away. Incidentally, it's such a weird and wonderful experience playing a Mario game where you never have to see ol' whatshisface. I've been playing as Peach for my entire run so far.

I've always preferred the 64/Sunshine/Galaxy hubs to the classic-style maps, but this is alright. What I like is that it's not just a glorified level select screen. You can run around wherever you like and hit blocks and stuff.
-
I bought a digital copy of this this morning (and a Pro Controller for maximum effect). So far, it's pretty damn rad. And for anyone else who was wondering like I was; yes, Peach does turn into a tin, cuter Peach when she takes damage.

A friend got me some acrylics for my birthday, which is what I always used to use. Dude, I know. I went to art college.

I can't sleep at all lately, but I'm tired all the time. Make up your mind, brain. By the way, I also got a sweet easel yesterday, so now I can finally try my hand at painting (and inevitably get frustrated and give up) again.
